OnionMedia is free, open-source software for downloading and processing video and music files. Its listed source is YouTube, which you can search from the built-in bar or access by adding a URL. Multiple video or audio files can be queued for simultaneous downloads. You can select a video resolution, download audio only, and recode downloaded video to H.264. Conversion tools recode video and audio to other codecs while allowing changes to resolution, aspect ratio, bitrate, and frame rate. Hardware-accelerated video encoding is supported. OnionMedia can trim files and edit tags such as title, author, and album. The project is based on FFmpeg and yt-dlp and uses the AGPL-3.0 license. Windows availability is stated for Windows 10 and 11 through the Microsoft Store or GitHub releases. The maker points Linux users to OnionMedia X, an Avalonia-based cross-platform port. Onionware says it does not collect personal data, though Microsoft Store sends anonymous usage times or error reports.
