The record

What it does: Noterix is a guitar tablature and standard notation editor with real-time audio playback, effects and a studio mixer.
Notation: The editor supports up to 8 simultaneous tracks per score, variable time signatures and key changes, guitar articulations, and complex rhythms.
Audio and MIDI: Its C++ audio engine includes a SoundFont 2.0 instrument library, adjustable 44.1/48/96 kHz sample rates, tempo mapping, and MIDI output for external devices and DAW integration.
Effects and mixer: Per-track effects include amp simulation, cabinet impulse response loading, distortion, EQ, reverb, delay, compression, noise gate and chorus/flanger; the editor also has a multichannel mixer.
Practice tools: Practice tools include section looping, tempo reduction by up to 75% without pitch change, a metronome scheduler, count-in and A/B take comparison.
File compatibility: Noterix imports compatible Guitar Pro 7/8 .gp files, has limited support for compatible GPIF-based .gpx files, and does not currently support legacy GP3/4/5 files.
Export limit: The pricing FAQ says Guitar Pro export and PDF export are planned for a future update.
Platforms: The download page lists Windows as currently available, macOS and Linux as coming soon, and iOS/Android as in development.
Trial and refund: The Windows app has a 7-day free trial with no card required, and purchases have a 14-day money-back guarantee.
Support: The contact page says support aims to reply within a couple of business days and offers help by email for purchases, license keys, refunds and the app.
Security and privacy: The privacy policy says Noterix uses HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, restricts access to systems holding personal data, and keeps secrets on the server rather than client software.
Payment processing: The privacy policy says Paddle is the Merchant of Record and processes payment details; Noterix says it does not receive or store full card numbers or payment credentials.
Intended users: The maker describes Noterix as built by guitarists for guitarists, and says its team consists of engineers and musicians.
