What nobg is

nobg is a browser-based tool for removing photo backgrounds and exporting transparent PNGs at the original pixel dimensions. The image cut runs locally with WebGPU or WebAssembly, so photos are not uploaded to a server. The free plan includes unlimited cutouts, full-resolution PNG exports, no account, and no watermark. It accepts JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and HEIC or HEIF files, and can export transparent PNGs or flattened images. Editing options include Erase, Restore, and Magic brushes, mask views, and edge refinement. Users can add colors, gradients, custom photos, blur, shadows, and sticker outlines. For batch work, users can queue photos, apply shared settings, and download results as a ZIP; processing is sequential on the device. The Fast and Ultra models run on-device, with Ultra designed for desktop GPUs with at least 4 GB of memory. After the site and model weights are cached on the first visit, processing can work offline. Large files are constrained by browser memory, with a practical decode ceiling of about 25 MB per file.

Who it suits

It suits people preparing product listings, portraits, pet photos, logos, jewelry, car listings, signatures, or passport and ID headshots. It is also suited to users who want local browser processing and batch exports without an account.

Add a background effect if needed, then export a transparent PNG or flattened image.
