What Momento Cache is

Momento Cache is a fully managed Valkey service with dedicated capacity for application data, database query results, API responses, static assets, sessions and personalization data. Momento manages cluster health, failover, rolling updates and security patches. Flex lets customers set capacity in GiB while Momento chooses cluster topology; Cluster gives customers control over instance type, sharding and replica count. A Capacity Pool provides dedicated Valkey capacity and an isolation boundary, and one or more databases can share its compute and memory. The service accepts standard Valkey or Redis clients in standalone mode through a Momento-managed gateway. Momento also describes a Drupal Cache module for Drupal sites and applications. Connections require TLS, data is encrypted in memory and at rest, and requests are authenticated with an API key or short-lived scoped token. Monthly ingress and egress include 200 GiB, with additional transfer priced at $0.05/GiB. Flex Standard is $0.02 a month and Flex Performance is $0.03 a month, each billed per GiB-hour of total physical Valkey storage; those prices are for us-east-1 and may vary by region.

Getting started

1. Open the Momento Cache product site
2. Choose Flex capacity or Cluster capacity
3. Configure GiB capacity, or select instance type, sharding, and replicas
4. Connect through the Momento-managed gateway using a Valkey or Redis client
5. Use TLS and authenticate with an API key or short-lived scoped token
6. Configure your application or Drupal integration to use the cache
