Midinous

What Midinous is
Midinous is a desktop MIDI sequencer for Linux, macOS, and Windows. It creates looping or branching sequences without requiring a fixed timeline. You place Points on a grid and connect them with Paths, then use random branching or signal splitting to shape how sequences move. Scale snapping can set individual Points or an entire project to a chosen key and scale. MIDI Note, Channel, Velocity, and Duration attributes can be assigned relatively across pathways. Midinous sends MIDI clock, transport, Note, and CC messages through automatically created MIDI ports, with up to 16 channels available at once. It is designed to send MIDI to DAWs, other applications, and hardware that accepts MIDI messages. The canvas supports scrolling, panning, and zooming, although the maker says it is not technically limitless. You can recolor the interface and remap most keyboard controls; a left-handed mode is also described. Midinous is not a DAW, and its Internal Synth makes only simple basic-waveform sounds. A free trial and Steam demo are available.
