What KKBOX is

KKBOX is a paid service for music streaming and podcast listening from a company founded in 1999. It runs on Android, iOS, and the web, with offline listening and hi-res maximum audio quality. Lossless audio is supported, and a Chunghwa Telecom plan page states that 80 million songs support lossless sound. KKBOX offers family and student plans and a 14-day trial, but no free plan. Listed individual options include 159 TWD a month for an automatic-renewal, no-contract monthly plan; 139 TWD a month for a 12-month term; and 129 TWD a month for 24-, 30-, or 36-month terms. The longer individual terms return to 159 TWD a month afterward. Eligible Chunghwa mobile customers have VIP offers at 89.00 TWD or 119 TWD a month, with stated eligibility and renewal conditions. Apple compatibility includes iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Apple Watch. The App Store listing requires iOS 17.0 or later for iPhone and iPadOS 17.0 or later for iPad.
