IGN Guides

What IGN Guides is

IGN Guides is IGN’s free game-help service, with guides available on the web, Android, and iOS. Players can find a mix of commissioned wiki pages, articles, interactive maps, checklist tools, videos, and guided contribution tools such as tier lists. IGN says most guides are written by its in-house writers or paid freelance writers. Verified users can contribute through the wiki CMS, though the system does not let them create wikis or set up navigation. IGN has shifted toward paid writers and integrated tools after reducing requests for user edits, citing spam and errors as reasons to limit that activity and narrow its focus. Guides can be opened on mobile web; an IGN representative said they were not supported in the native app at the time of a 2022 post. IGN Entertainment describes itself as part of Ziff Davis, says its brands date back to 1996, and reports that its content is localized in 20 languages across 110 countries. The service brings editorial and interactive game help together, with contributions managed through IGN’s own system.
