What IBM Cloud Logs is

IBM Cloud Logs is a cloud service for processing, storing, and querying logs to help identify issues and improve infrastructure and application performance. It provides log pipelines, structured parsing, live log tailing, and archive export. Logs can be stored and searched in IBM Cloud Object Storage buckets for longer retention. The TCO Optimizer uses policies to route log and event data through different consumption tiers. Alert suppression rules can dismiss similar alerts after one is dismissed. An Incidents screen helps DevOps and SRE users inspect triggered alerts and related logs, while Flow Alerts combine logs, metrics, traces, and security data. Extensions add predefined alerts, parsing rules, dashboards, and other resources through the UI or API. Integrations include Activity Tracker Event Routing, Cloud Logs Routing, Object Storage, Event Streams, Event Notifications, and IAM. IBM states that data is encrypted in transit and at rest with IBM-managed keys and that IAM policies apply to operations. Service data is processed and stored by region. Standard pricing is metered per gigabyte ingested: $0.48 per GB for Store and search, $0.75 per GB for Analyze and alert, and Priority insights at $1.20-$3.25 per GB for 7- to 90-day retention. There is no free plan.

Who it suits
