The record

Product: Himalaya is a command-line tool for managing email.
Mail actions: Its shared commands support listing, reading, composing, sending, searching, moving, and downloading attachments.
Email backends: It supports IMAP, SMTP, ManageSieve, JMAP, Gmail REST API, Microsoft Graph, Maildir, m2dir, mbox, and pimdir.
Authentication: It supports several IMAP, SMTP, and ManageSieve authentication mechanisms, plus basic and bearer authentication for JMAP.
Transport security: It supports Rustls TLS and optional native TLS.
Configuration: It uses TOML configuration with multiple accounts and can output JSON with the --json option.
Discovery: Its setup wizard discovers mail services using PACC, Thunderbird autoconfiguration, DNS SRV lookups, and JMAP session resolution.
Proxy support: It supports SOCKS5 and HTTP proxies, configured per account or through environment variables.
Integrations: The project lists Vim, Emacs, and Raycast interfaces, plus OpenClaw and dfzf integrations.
Secret handling: Secret fields can use literal values or shell commands that print credentials; the README advises against literal secrets in production and says native keyring support was removed in v2.
OAuth limitation: Version 2 does not include an OAuth flow; the README recommends using an external token broker such as ortie.
Security policy: The security policy marks version 2.x supported and versions 1.x and 0.x unsupported.
License: The project is licensed under either MIT or Apache License 2.0.
Intended use: The maker describes Himalaya as a scriptable email tool for people who work in a terminal.
