What FutureTax is
FutureTax is Windows tax-preparation software for Canadian individual T1, corporation T2, and trust T3 returns. T1 NETFILE lets individuals prepare their own or family members’ returns for electronic submission or for printing and mailing. T1 EFILE is intended for preparing another person’s return electronically or for printing, and requires a CRA-issued EFILE number. T2 supports eligible electronic submission of original or amended returns, with auto-fill, Alberta AT1, T106, T1134, T1135, E-Docs, Attach-a-doc, RC4649, and Business Consent. T3 handles T3 Trust Income Tax and Information Returns and T1135, with EFILE when eligible. T1 tools include split-pension, charitable-donation, medical-expense, and dependant optimizers. It supports self-employment, investment income, rental income, and state filing. Information stays on the computer until submission to CRA. FutureTax runs on Windows 7, 8, 10, and 11, needs internet for online filing, and does not support macOS, Chromebooks, or Linux/Wine. A free family return applies below $10,000 income; paid T1 NETFILE options include 8.99 CAD, 10.99 CAD, and 16.99 CAD one-time plans.
