Fonderie
What Fonderie is
Fonderie is a local CMS that turns writing into a static website. It runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, works offline, and stores posts and pages as plain Markdown files on the user’s computer. The editor supports Markdown with live preview and full HTML, while five customizable themes provide controls for fonts, colours, and spacing. Fonderie publishes through FTP or SFTP and uploads only changed files. Generated sites use static files without a database or server-side code, and projects can be exported as a zip. Sites may be hosted on any web host, GitHub Pages, Cloudflare Pages, or Netlify. One installation can manage multiple sites without a stated limit. The free plan is available forever at no cost and is open source under the MIT license. Managed hosted costs €12 a year, with hosting, publishing, and maintenance handled by Fonderie. Third-party embed examples include Tally, HubSpot, Typeform, Mailchimp, Stripe, Plausible, and YouTube.
