Instead of Exordium
Exordium alternatives
Exordium is a free, client-side Minecraft mod for versions 1.19.4 and later. It renders vanilla interface elements—including chat, the hotbar, overlays and bossbars—at a lower configurable fixed framerate to free CPU and GPU time for world rendering. It supports Fabric, NeoForge, Forge and Quilt and does not require Sodium. Its focus is narrow: only the vanilla GUI is supported, and modded interface elements may not work. Screen-rendering support is unfinished, disabled by default and can cause transparency issues. The project is in maintenance mode, with no new features planned and no fixes planned for bugs with other mods.
- 1
Lithium
Free plan LinuxMacWindowsBroad Minecraft optimization on client or server — Lithium optimizes many areas of Minecraft without changing mechanics or visuals, rather than lowering the GUI frame rate.
- 2
ImmediatelyFast
Free plan Open source APILinuxMac+1Client rendering optimization across many visual areas — ImmediatelyFast optimizes entities, particles, text, GUI/HUD and other rendering, while Exordium lowers vanilla GUI frame rate.
- 3
VulkanMod
Free plan Open source LinuxMacWindowsVulkan-based terrain and entity rendering — VulkanMod replaces OpenGL with a Vulkan renderer and requires Vulkan 1.2 support, unlike Exordium’s GUI frame-rate approach.
- 4
FerriteCore
Free plan Self-hostedReducing Minecraft RAM use — FerriteCore reduces memory used by block states, models and related data rather than targeting GUI rendering.
- 5
Krypton
Free plan Open source LinuxMacSelf-hosted+1Networking optimization, especially for servers — Krypton optimizes networking and entity tracking, with features geared toward servers rather than GUI frame rate.
- 6
Nvidium
Free plan LinuxTerrain rendering on qualifying NVIDIA GPUs — Nvidium is a Sodium-dependent rendering backend using NVIDIA mesh shaders, not a standalone GUI optimization.
- 7
Alternate Current

Alternatives target different performance needs, so compare the bottleneck and compatibility trade-offs before switching. Lithium optimizes multiple areas of Minecraft, while ImmediatelyFast focuses on client rendering; neither is specifically about lowering GUI frame rate. FerriteCore targets RAM use, and Krypton targets networking. VulkanMod replaces OpenGL and is incompatible with Exordium; Nvidium needs Sodium and a qualifying NVIDIA GPU. Alternate Current focuses on redstone. Loader, hardware, shader and mod compatibility can narrow the choices, and a broader optimization may not address Exordium’s specific GUI-rendering approach.
