What EditPad Pro is
EditPad Pro is a paid Windows text editor and word processor for editing text files. It can open many files at once, organize them into projects, and apply editing commands across project files. Search and replace supports regular expressions and can target a selection, file, project, or all open projects. Editing features include keystroke macros, configurable syntax highlighting, file navigation, text snippets, file comparison, column editing, large-file handling, and unlimited undo and redo. Its built-in FTP and SFTP client can upload files and edit web pages directly on a server. The current version supports Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10, and 11 in 32-bit and 64-bit editions. There is no native Linux version, although the maker says the Windows version can run through Wine with minor glitches. A licensed copy can run from removable storage. The single-user license costs $59.95, paid once, and a free evaluation version is available.
