Downpour
What Downpour is
Downpour is an audiobook store and listening service offering digital downloads, CDs, MP3CDs, and digital rentals. Its catalog lists over 425,000 titles, with hundreds of new releases added monthly. Purchases can be made without membership, but an account is required to complete checkout. The Downpour Audiobook Club costs $12.99 a month and provides one credit monthly. Credits cover most digital downloads, exclude physical media and some titles, and expire 12 months after being added. The membership advertises savings of up to 70% off retail prices. Android and iOS apps support offline downloads, 0.5x to 3x playback speed, a sleep timer, bookmarks, notes, wishlists, and progress syncing. Much content is DRM-free, though some restricted titles play only in the mobile apps. Support is available by phone or email on weekdays.
