Downie
What Downie is
Downie is a Mac video downloader for saving videos from YouTube, Vimeo, and more than 1,000 other sites. The maker says coverage expands through regular updates. YouTube downloads can reach 4K, using the highest quality available, and downloads can be converted to MP4 or reduced to an audio track. Safari, Chrome, and Firefox extensions send links to Downie with one click. For sites without direct support, its built-in browser offers User-Guided Extraction while you navigate. Download history synchronizes across Macs through iCloud to help avoid duplicate downloads. The maker says updates usually arrive every week or two, and support replies within 24 hours while accepting requests for new site support. Downie has a free trial but no free plan. The listed Downie purchase is $19.99 a month, described as one purchase lasting forever, with up to three activations. Setapp and two bundles are also listed.
