Contraponto

What Contraponto is
Contraponto is a free, open-source, self-hostable blogging platform for multi-author sites. Server-rendered pages use Quarkus, Qute and HTMX rather than a React, Vue or single-page-app build step. Authors can run main and secondary blogs, publish Markdown or AsciiDoc, and organise posts with tags, series and custom pages. Editorial tools include drafts, publishing, snapshots, version history and a curated homepage. Readers can search, use RSS, save reading lists, add highlights and notes, comment, follow blogs, subscribe by email, receive notifications and exchange direct messages. Authors may syndicate through ActivityPub to Mastodon-compatible servers, or use optional Git and Jekyll synchronisation. Deployment requires Java 25 or Docker, PostgreSQL 14+, HTTPS and SMTP. Images are stored in PostgreSQL. Git/Jekyll sync and ActivityPub are disabled by default in production, while the default in-memory sessions suit one node. The project uses GPL 2.0.
