Conferoo

Conferoo is a phone-based conference calling service with web and mobile apps. It suits groups that want reusable UK dial-in details and do not need scheduling or international access. Its simple setup is useful for recurring calls, but the free tier leaves callers’ network charges and several coordination features outside the service.

Overview

Enter an email address to receive conference details, then share the access number and PIN with participants. Reusing the same PIN makes regular calls easier to arrange without issuing new details each time. Conferoo says conferences can have as many attendees as desired, which removes a published headcount ceiling; it does not, however, add the scheduling or participant-management tools offered by the planned paid tier.

Conferoo charges no monthly or per-minute service fee. A UK 03 call is free to a participant when their bundled minutes cover it; otherwise, their network charges the same rate as for calls to 01 or 02 numbers. The service itself is free, but that does not guarantee every caller pays nothing.

Participants dial in and enter a PIN. The Android and iOS app can place the call and enter the PIN when a user taps its call button, reducing steps for mobile callers. Conferoo also supports setup through the web, but its stated joining flow remains a phone call rather than a web meeting.

Recording and PIN lifetime

Users can choose to record a conference and receive an emailed link to listen to or download it for seven days. That is useful for short-term review, but not a long-term recording archive. A PIN expires if it has never been used or if no conference has taken place for 12 months; an inactive PIN is then automatically removed.

Features still to come

Conferoo describes +PLUS as coming soon. Its planned features include 30 days of recordings, international dial-in numbers, scheduling and reminders, live statistics, and optional PIN bypass and participant management. Those additions would address several limits of FREE, but they are not part of the current free offer.

FREE: free. There are no Conferoo monthly or per-minute fees; callers use bundled minutes for UK 03 calls where covered, or pay their network’s 01/02 rate otherwise. The plan includes recordings downloadable for seven days and any number of attendees. It is a fit for groups comfortable with phone dial-in and brief recording access, but it lacks international numbers, scheduled calls and toll-free access.

+PLUS: custom pricing, described as a low monthly fee, with the amount not stated. It is marked as coming soon and is intended to add 30-day recordings, international dial-in, scheduling and reminders, live statistics, optional PIN bypass and participant management. Until it launches, users who need those functions should choose a service that offers them now.
