Arcangel Images is a specialist library of photography and illustration for book covers and other creative industries. Its curated collection contains over one million images, according to the company, and supports both editorial and illustration needs. Users can search with conventional keywords or natural-language queries in any language. Clients can send cover briefs for image sourcing and contributor calls, or request free archive research and contributor outreach. For made-to-order imagery, they can commission bespoke shoots with Arcangel artists. Plugins connect the library with Photoshop, InDesign, and Figma, so users can search and bring images into cover designs. Licensing includes project-specific Rights-Managed terms and Royalty-Free options with a one-time fee and broader reuse within the license terms. Registered users can download medium-resolution files; high-resolution files are available with a publisher agreement or approved project delivery. Account managers can help with selections, licensing questions, quotes, orders, and billing. Arcangel says the collection is made by real artists and excludes generative AI imagery. Access is available on the web and through an extension.
