What a11yTools is
a11yTools is a free web collection of interactive tools for digital accessibility awareness, design checking, simulation, writing, typography, and translation. Its color vision simulator shows how designs may appear to people with different forms of color vision deficiency. A contrast checker evaluates combinations against WCAG guidance and indicates AA or AAA suitability. Text rewriting modes include shorter and clearer, formal, informal, and Easy Language. The typography tool checks fonts, sizes, and spacing and provides readability recommendations. A multilingual tool translates text into 26 languages and gives notes about font sizes, right-to-left layouts, and language-specific details. The Inclusive Persona Generator creates AI-supported personas representing people with different disabilities. An interactive quiz covers cultural differences in gestures, colors, and behavior. The collection launched for Global Accessibility Awareness Day 2026 and is described as continually expanding. Visitors can suggest tool ideas, and the site invites voluntary contributions to keep the offering free and ad-free.
