Status: MIUI 13 is legacy software by September 2026. This page is a historical tracker of reports and fixes recorded through January 16, 2023; it is not a live 2026 support monitor. The original tracker did not establish substantive MIUI 13 updates after that date. See the historical issue record and use Xiaomi’s current support portal for present-day service decisions.
MIUI 13 bugs are not necessarily universal. The same phone can receive different firmware in Global, EEA, India, China, Turkey, Brazil and other regions, and MIUI 13 ran on both Android 11 and Android 12 depending on the device. Match any symptom to the exact model, region, Android version and full build number before treating it as a firmware-wide defect.
How to read this tracker
The word “bug” is used cautiously here. A symptom may be a Xiaomi-acknowledged firmware problem, an app or accessory compatibility issue, an Android 11/12 interaction, a carrier configuration problem, modified software, or failing hardware.

- Fixed: listed as resolved, usually for a particular build or software channel. That does not guarantee every regional variant is fixed.
- Investigating: reported and under review, with no confirmed permanent resolution.
- Workaround: a temporary mitigation exists, but no permanent fix is confirmed.
- Unacknowledged: user reports exist without manufacturer confirmation.
- Not necessarily a MIUI bug: the evidence points to an app, Android component, network, accessory or hardware as a possible cause.

Source for the compiled issue and status record: Viawe Tech’s MIUI 13 tracker. The record mixes Xiaomi acknowledgements, reported complaints, investigations, promised fixes and unconfirmed claims, so its status wording should not be upgraded to certainty.
Important regional and version limits
- MIUI 13 is not one firmware package. A suffix such as
SKFEUXM,SKPMIXMorSKSMIXMidentifies a different release context. A fix on one build may not exist on another. - Android 11 and Android 12 matter. A problem attributed to MIUI 13 may depend on the underlying Android release, Google components or app behavior.
- Beta reports are not proof of stable-wide failures. Pilot and beta software can contain defects that never reach retail firmware.
- Apps and accessories update independently. Netflix, WhatsApp, Twitter, Line, Google Maps, Android Auto, wearables, cars, routers and SIM networks can each cause similar symptoms.
Safe troubleshooting workflow
1. Record the software environment
Open Settings → About phone and record the exact model, MIUI version and Android version. Also record the security patch date and ROM region. Note whether the bootloader is unlocked, the phone is rooted or debloated, or a custom ROM, theme, launcher, game booster, ad blocker, overlay or other modification is installed.

2. Try reversible checks first
- Restart the phone and install any later official update offered for that exact model and region.
- Update the affected app, Google Play services and Google Play system components.
- Check storage space, permissions and notification-channel settings.
- Temporarily remove battery restrictions from apps that must deliver notifications.
- Disable third-party launchers, themes, overlays, automation, ad blockers and root modules.
- Clear the affected app’s cache before clearing data. Back up photos before resetting Gallery or storage-related components.
- Test a known-good cable, charger, SIM, router, Wi-Fi band, Bluetooth accessory or vehicle where relevant.
Google Play server connection errors
Try Settings → Security status → Google Play system update. Menu labels vary by region and build, and this path is not a universal fix for every Google Play connectivity problem. Also check date and time, Google account status, network filtering and available storage.
Android Auto failures
- Update Android Auto and Google Play services.
- Use a high-quality data cable, another USB port and, if possible, another vehicle.
- Remove and recreate the vehicle pairing.
- Identify whether the failure is display-only, a connection failure or a phone restart.
- Do not factory-reset before preserving logs and confirming that the vehicle and cable are not responsible.
Notifications and Do Not Disturb
Check DND exceptions and the affected app’s individual notification channels. Confirm whether the sound is a notification, call, alarm, media stream or system sound. Disable sound automation and battery restrictions, then reproduce the issue after a restart.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
Forget and re-add the network or accessory, test 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz separately, and temporarily remove aggressive battery restrictions. Resetting network settings can help, but it deletes saved Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth pairings. Compare another router or accessory before blaming the phone.
Camera, Gallery and dual-app problems
Check camera and storage permissions, update WhatsApp or the affected app, and temporarily disable cloned or dual-app mode. Test the stock Camera app: if it works there, the failure may be app-specific; if it fails everywhere, investigate permissions, firmware and hardware. Back up photographs before clearing data.

High-risk reports: bricking and boot loops
Safety warning: Historical reports claimed that some Mi 11, Mi 11 Ultra and Mi 11 Lite 5G phones were hard-bricked after an Android 12-based MIUI 13 update and might require EDL flashing. The tracker marked these reports unacknowledged. They must not be presented as a confirmed or widespread Xiaomi failure.
- Do not repeatedly force-reboot a phone that is still installing an update.
- Keep the phone charged and connected to its official charger during an update.
- Do not flash a different regional ROM to obtain recovery or an earlier release.
- Do not attempt EDL procedures from random videos or files. They may erase data, require authorized service access or affect warranty status.
- If the phone cannot boot, enter recovery/fastboot, or is detected reliably, contact Xiaomi/POCO support or an authorized repair provider.
When not to factory-reset
A factory reset is a last-resort software test, not a guaranteed MIUI fix. It can erase data and remove diagnostic evidence. Do not make it the first response to a known firmware defect, a carrier or accessory issue, a suspected hardware fault, or a bricked device. Escalate instead for repeated reboots while charging, overheating or battery swelling, camera failure in every app, persistent SIM failure, a non-booting phone, or a problem that survives an official update and clean software test.
Should you install or delay MIUI 13?
Back up first and check the full build suffix. Install an official update promptly when it contains an important security fix or resolves a serious existing problem. Wait briefly when a rollout is newly staged, the phone is mission-critical, or credible model-specific failures are appearing. Never sideload another region’s package simply to receive MIUI 13 earlier.

How to report a remaining issue
Include the exact model and regional ROM, complete MIUI build, Android version and security patch. Describe precise reproduction steps, frequency, the app or accessory involved, recent updates, screenshots or video, and whether Safe Mode changes the behavior. State whether the bootloader is unlocked or the phone is rooted. Use Xiaomi’s current support, contact and warranty resources or the official Xiaomi Community rather than treating this historical tracker as an active support channel.
When to contact Xiaomi or a repair provider
Seek official help for a boot loop or non-booting phone, suspected hard brick, repeated charging reboots, overheating, battery swelling, persistent SIM or network failure, camera failure in every app, or a defect that remains after an official update and controlled software test. Service options and warranty eligibility vary by country.

Does MIUI 13 require Android 12?
No. MIUI 13 was released on both Android 11 and Android 12, depending on the Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO model and regional build.

Are MIUI 13 bugs the same on every phone?
No. Model, Android base, ROM region, build suffix, rollout channel, apps, carrier and accessories can all change the result.
Are MIUI 13 and HyperOS the same?
No. HyperOS is a later Xiaomi software platform. This historical tracker should not be used to infer current HyperOS support or fixes.
Can I safely downgrade MIUI 13?
Do not downgrade by flashing an unrelated regional package. Downgrading can erase data or brick the phone; use only model- and region-specific official procedures or authorized service.
