The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 is a 2019 4G phone with an unusually versatile camera system, a 6.47-inch AMOLED display and a large 5,260mAh battery. In 2026, its age matters more than its original headline specs: battery wear, uncertain software support and carrier compatibility can make a cheap used unit a poor daily driver. Consider one only if the price is low, the device is in good condition and its limitations suit your needs.
What is the Xiaomi Mi Note 10?
The Mi Note 10 is Xiaomi’s international version of the Mi CC9 Pro family, launched in late 2019. Xiaomi’s corporate material identifies the November 2019 launch of the Mi CC9 Pro and its international Mi Note 10 version (Xiaomi corporate announcement).
Names are easy to mix up: the Mi Note 10 Pro is a higher-memory or storage variant in some markets; the Mi Note 10 Lite is a separate phone with a different camera system. The Redmi Note 10 is a different, later product line. Check the exact model before buying accessories or comparing specifications.

Specifications are from Xiaomi’s official UK specifications and product page. Features such as NFC and SIM support can vary by market. Xiaomi does not establish an IP water-resistance rating for this model in the listed specifications, so do not assume it is water-resistant.
How good is the 108MP camera?
Main camera and 108MP mode
In bright conditions, the large main sensor can capture substantial detail. In ordinary use, the camera generally combines four sensor pixels into one, producing images of roughly 27MP. The 108MP mode can be useful for daylight scenes where you expect to crop, but it creates larger files and can take longer to process. High resolution does not by itself improve low-light results.
Xiaomi lists a maximum image resolution of 12,032 × 9,024 pixels; that is a specification, not a promise of consistently better photographs. Android Authority’s review found strong daylight detail and a versatile set of cameras, but weaker medium- and low-light results, particularly in 108MP mode. It recommends treating the phone as a roughly 27MP camera for regular shooting (Android Authority review).

Telephoto and zoom claims
The Mi Note 10 has genuine telephoto hardware, including a 2× portrait camera and a longer-range telephoto camera with OIS. Xiaomi also describes 10× hybrid and 50× digital zoom on its product page. Those advertised magnifications are not equivalent to having a modern phone’s dedicated, high-quality 5× periscope camera; image quality falls as the phone relies more on hybrid processing or digital cropping.
Ultra-wide, macro, selfie and video
The 20MP ultra-wide camera’s 117-degree view is useful for fitting landscapes or interiors into a frame. The 2MP macro camera is a much weaker part of the package by current standards, with limited detail. The 32MP front camera is a strong resolution specification, but megapixels alone do not establish selfie quality. Video tops out at 4K/30fps, and modern phones generally have an advantage in stabilization, focus speed and video processing.
Display, build and everyday features
The curved 6.47-inch AMOLED panel still offers deep blacks, strong contrast and an attractive format for video. It is Full HD+ and 60Hz, rather than QHD or a higher-refresh-rate screen. Android Authority found the display usable outdoors but measured lower peak brightness than some competitors at the time. On a used device, check for AMOLED burn-in, dead pixels, green tint and reduced brightness; curved edges can also reflect light, register accidental touches and make screen repairs more costly.

The Mi Note 10 includes practical extras increasingly absent from some newer phones: a headphone jack, IR blaster, NFC and USB-C. It has no microSD expansion, so the common 128GB configuration is the limit for local storage. Android Authority’s review also notes a single bottom-firing speaker. There is no wireless charging.
Performance in 2026
The Snapdragon 730G was an upper-midrange processor in 2019. In a well-maintained Mi Note 10 it can still handle messaging, browsing, video playback, navigation and lighter games. It has less headroom for demanding games, heavy multitasking and future applications than current midrange phones. App launches and camera processing will also feel slower than on newer hardware. The common global model’s 6GB RAM and 128GB storage further limit its longevity.
Android Authority found everyday performance smooth when the phone was new, while placing it below flagship-class devices. That historical review is not a direct comparison with 2026 phones, and old benchmark scores should not be treated as current rankings.

Battery life and charging
Xiaomi rates the battery at 5,260mAh typical capacity and 5,170mAh minimum capacity. The phone supports 30W wired charging; Xiaomi said the original package included a compatible charger and claimed a full charge in about 65 minutes under laboratory conditions. Actual charging depends on the compatible charger, cable and conditions.
Android Authority recorded about seven and a half hours of screen-on time and a full charge in around one hour and six minutes on its review sample. Those are historical results from a new unit, not an expectation for a used phone today. A battery made in 2019 may have lost substantial capacity. Rapid percentage drops, unexpected shutdowns, charging heat or lifted rear glass are warning signs; do not use a phone with a visibly swollen battery.
Software, updates and security
The Mi Note 10 shipped with MIUI 11 based on Android 9. Later software depends on the device’s region and firmware branch, so there is no single current Android or MIUI version that applies to every unit. Global, EEA, India, Russia, Indonesia and China variants may differ. A used or imported phone may also have an unlocked bootloader, a modified reseller ROM, failed over-the-air updates or mismatched regional firmware.

Xiaomi’s current security-update policy page is the place to check support information, but its accessible listing does not establish a clear Mi Note 10 end date here. Verify the specific phone’s regional support and security-patch status rather than assuming it still receives updates. An unofficial custom ROM is not equivalent to official Xiaomi support: unlocking can wipe data, and modified software may affect banking apps, camera features, Google certification or security.
Does it work on US carriers?
Do not treat the Mi Note 10 as a guaranteed US-compatible phone. LTE band support varies by regional model, and a band list alone does not confirm carrier approval, VoLTE, emergency calling or coverage. Xiaomi itself notes that VoLTE support depends on region and operator in its specifications.
- Find the exact model number and regional variant in the phone settings or on its packaging.
- Check the carrier’s official IMEI or device-compatibility tool before purchase.
- Compare the exact variant’s LTE bands with the bands used where you will use the phone.
- Confirm VoLTE provisioning; data service working does not prove voice calls will work.
- For an imported model, do not assume it is equivalent to a US-market device or remains compatible after carrier network changes.
What to check before buying one used
A low asking price is not the whole cost. A battery, screen or charging-port repair can make an old phone uneconomical, and a carrier problem can render it unsuitable as a daily phone. Prefer a seller who provides a return window and the exact model and IMEI.
- Confirm the model and region, check the IMEI status, and ensure the previous owner removed their account and factory-reset protection.
- Inspect the display for burn-in, dead pixels, green tint, edge cracks and lifting caused by battery swelling.
- Test every camera, autofocus, telephoto switching and camera glass; look for focus hunting or damage that softens images.
- Test USB-C charging, battery drain during video or camera use, fingerprint unlock, speaker, microphones and headphone jack.
- Check NFC, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi and the IR blaster. Test both SIM slots and confirm VoLTE with the intended carrier.
- Check whether the bootloader is unlocked, whether the installed ROM matches the region, and whether Google Play certification is present on an imported device.
- Ask about battery replacement and repair history, then compare the total cost with a newer phone that has a warranty and fresh battery.
Who should consider the Mi Note 10?
It may suit you if
- You can buy a clean, working unit for a very low price with a return option.
- You want to experiment with daylight photography, telephoto framing, a headphone jack or an IR remote.
- You have verified carrier compatibility and are comfortable checking the device’s software and battery condition.
Choose something newer if
- You need 5G, dependable long-term security updates or a phone for sensitive banking and work accounts.
- You prioritize gaming, night photography, fast video autofocus, high-refresh scrolling or reliable battery health.
- You cannot risk uncertain cellular service, repair costs or outdated software.
A new budget or midrange phone generally offers a newer battery, warranty, 5G and a clearer update outlook. A used 2020–2022 flagship may offer faster performance, better video, water resistance or a higher-refresh display, but its battery and repair condition also need scrutiny. For US carrier certainty and consistent computational photography, check specific Pixel or Samsung models available for your carrier rather than comparing whole product families.
