Xiaomi launched the Redmi Watch Move in India on April 21, 2025, with a launch price of ₹1,999. Its main draws are a 1.85-inch AMOLED display, Bluetooth calling and basic health and fitness tracking; the 14-day battery figure is a Xiaomi estimate, not a guarantee of everyday use. The launch price is historical, so check a retailer for the current price.
Price and availability in India
The Redmi Watch Move was announced on April 21, 2025. Pre-orders were scheduled to begin on April 24, with open sales from May 1 through Mi.com, Flipkart and Xiaomi retail outlets. Xiaomi offered four colours: Black Drift, Silver Sprint, Gold Rush and Blue Blaze. These dates and the ₹1,999 launch price were reported at launch by The Indian Express.
₹1,999 is the launch price, not a reliable statement of what the watch costs now. Xiaomi’s store listing and third-party price tracking have shown different amounts at different times; check the live listing for the price, seller and stock in your preferred colour. Display and design
The 1.85-inch AMOLED panel is the Move’s clearest hardware selling point at its launch price. Xiaomi lists 390 × 450 resolution, 322 PPI and peak brightness of up to 600 nits, plus Always-On Display support. The 2.5D curved design has a stated 74% screen-to-body ratio. A 60Hz refresh rate is available only in selected scenarios; Xiaomi lists the panel’s range as 50–60Hz.
The rotating crown supports tap, scroll and press-style navigation, rather than serving as a more extensive mechanical control system. The watch body weighs 25g without its quick-release TPU strap and 39g with it. Independent coverage noted the display as a strong point, while also reporting limitations in areas such as haptics and call performance; those observations are reviewer experience, not Xiaomi specifications. Health and fitness tracking
The watch supports heart-rate, blood-oxygen, sleep and stress monitoring, menstrual-cycle tracking and breathing exercises. Xiaomi lists more than 140 sports modes and automatic detection for selected activities. These are wellness and workout features, not a substitute for medical equipment or professional advice.
Xiaomi has promoted accuracy figures of roughly 97% or 98.5%, depending on the claim and context. Treat these as manufacturer claims, not independently established or clinically validated measurements. Read Xiaomi’s feature information on the product page.
Bluetooth calling and smart features
The Move has a microphone and speaker for Bluetooth calling, but it is not a cellular or eSIM watch. Calls rely on a paired smartphone connected over Bluetooth, so the phone needs to be nearby and within range. Xiaomi says the watch supports answering or rejecting calls, a call history of up to 30 entries, and up to 10 favourite contacts configured in Mi Fitness.

To place a call from the watch, Xiaomi’s stated path is Watch Menu → Calls → dial pad, then enter the number. The watch also supports incoming-call and app notifications, selected quick replies, weather updates, calendar, tasks, notes and music controls. Hindi is supported. Notification and reply behaviour can vary by phone platform, app permissions and background-activity settings.
Battery life depends on how you use it
The battery is 300mAh. Xiaomi rates it for up to 14 days in typical use and up to 10 days in heavy-use mode. Those are company estimates under its test conditions, which include limited monitoring, periodic heart-rate checks, message notifications, some Bluetooth calling and limited exercise tracking—not a guarantee for every owner.

Water resistance, GPS and other limitations
IP68 is not a swimming rating
Xiaomi explains the IP68 rating as resistance to static-water submersion up to 1.5 metres for up to 30 minutes and says the watch is suitable for rain or similar conditions. That does not establish suitability for swimming, diving, hot showers, saunas or high-pressure water. Do not interpret IP68 as a swimming guarantee; consult Xiaomi’s water-resistance guidance.
GPS is not listed in the India specifications
Xiaomi’s published India specification listing does not list built-in GPS or GNSS. Buyers should assume outdoor route tracking may depend on the paired phone unless Xiaomi’s current documentation says otherwise. That makes the Move a less suitable choice for runners or cyclists who want to leave their phone behind.

The listing establishes HyperOS and phone connectivity but does not establish a full third-party app ecosystem, contactless payments or independent cellular service. Do not buy it expecting Wear OS-style app installation or LTE features. Health readings are estimates, and app notifications or quick replies may differ between Android and iOS.
Who should consider the Redmi Watch Move?
A good fit for
- First-time smartwatch buyers who want notifications, steps, sleep estimates and basic workout tracking.
- People who prioritise a large AMOLED display, Bluetooth calls and a lightweight body.
- Users comfortable keeping their Android phone or iPhone nearby for calls and phone-dependent features.
Look elsewhere if you need
- Reliable phone-free route tracking, LTE/eSIM calling or navigation.
- A watch explicitly rated for swimming or water sports.
- Medical-grade health measurements, contactless payments or a broad third-party app ecosystem.
How it compares with other budget options
Consider alternatives by the feature you actually need, and compare live India prices before deciding. The Redmi Watch 5 Active is a relevant lower-cost Redmi option; check its display, calling, battery and water rating against the Move. The Redmi Watch 5 Lite may suit buyers willing to spend more if its current India specification offers the fitness features they need. The Samsung Galaxy Fit3 is a smaller fitness-band-style alternative for people who prioritise Samsung’s ecosystem. Discounted boAt, Noise and Boult watches may compete on calling and feature counts, but compare specific models rather than assuming they have equivalent sensors, software support or durability.
Verdict
The Redmi Watch Move’s proposition is a large AMOLED screen, basic smartwatch functions and phone-dependent calling at a low launch price. It is most compelling for everyday notifications and casual health or workout tracking; the absence of listed built-in GPS and the limits of IP68 matter more to outdoor athletes and swimmers. Its value depends on the live price, so compare that with the specific features you need rather than relying on the 2025 launch figure.
