Status: The Windows 10 Beta Channel is discontinued. Its final documented release was Windows 10 version 22H2, build 19045.5194 (KB5046714), on November 14, 2024. Microsoft said Beta Insiders would move to Release Preview; Windows 10’s general support later ended on October 14, 2025. This is a historical tracker, not a live update feed. Windows 10 Beta Channel status
Microsoft opened a dedicated Beta Channel for Windows 10 version 22H2 on June 4, 2024. It was an Insider preview channel for testing Windows 10 changes—not the ordinary production update channel and not the Windows 11 Beta Channel. The program ran for only a few months: Microsoft announced on November 14, 2024 that build 19045.5194 would be the last Windows 10 Beta release. It said Windows 10 Beta Insiders would move to Release Preview, where Windows 10 Insider releases would continue.
The channel closure and Windows 10 end of support are separate dates. The Beta Channel closed in 2024; Windows 10 general support ended October 14, 2025. Insider enrollment did not extend that lifecycle. See Microsoft’s channel launch announcement and closure announcement.
Complete Windows 10 Beta build tracker
These are the documented Windows 10 22H2 builds released to the Beta Channel. Each was also released to Release Preview. A build number identifies the operating-system build; a KB number identifies an associated servicing update. They are related identifiers, not interchangeable labels.

Where the cited Microsoft archive does not identify a KB number, this tracker leaves it unspecified rather than inferring one from the build number. The Microsoft Windows 10 Insider archive is the source for the short release chronology.
What the short build history means
The four listed releases span roughly five months. The Beta Channel was a limited late-lifecycle testing effort, not a new Windows 10 development branch or a promise of a new feature version. Microsoft’s June announcement said it would test Windows 10 features, including features delivered through controlled rollouts. As a result, a feature described for a build might be enabled gradually or only for some users; identical build numbers did not guarantee that every Insider saw the same feature at the same time.
Beta and Release Preview overlapped because the listed Windows 10 releases went to both channels. The channels still had different roles: Beta was for earlier feature testing, while Release Preview was closer to release validation and servicing. Microsoft’s November notice said future Windows 10 Insider releases would continue through Release Preview, not that the Beta Channel remained open.

To identify the version and OS build on a Windows PC:
- Press Windows key + R.
- Type
winverand press Enter. - Read the Windows version and OS build in the dialog.
You can also open Settings → System → About and check Windows specifications. Microsoft documents these ways to view system information in its Windows Insider support guidance.

What happened to Windows 10 Beta Insiders?
Microsoft said existing Windows 10 Beta Insiders would be moved to Release Preview and could also switch there manually. The historical settings path was Settings → Update & Security → Windows Insider Program → Choose your Insider settings → Release Preview Channel. That path may not appear on every Windows 10 PC today: interface availability can differ on patched, managed, or otherwise configured devices. Seeing an Insider settings page now does not mean the Windows 10 Beta service is still active.
Do not join the Windows Insider Program to obtain new Windows 10 Beta builds; there are none expected from this discontinued channel. If you still rely on Windows 10, check your support options separately: consider a supported Windows 11 installation if the PC qualifies, investigate Microsoft’s Extended Security Update offering if eligible, or keep legacy testing isolated. Insider preview access is not a substitute for supported security updates.

Windows 10 Beta is not Windows 11 Beta
Current search results can mix the two programs because both use the word “Beta.” The Windows 10 entries in this tracker are version 22H2 builds in the 19045.x family. Windows 11 has a separate Insider program and different build families; consult Microsoft’s Flight Hub for its current build information. Do not use Windows 11 release listings to fill gaps in Windows 10’s historical record.

If an expected Beta build does not appear
For Windows 10, the primary explanation is that the Beta Channel ended. Other reasons an Insider build may not appear include device management policies, edition or version eligibility, staged availability, or looking at instructions for a different Windows branch. Do not force-install a build based on a Windows 11 page or assume that a Release Preview listing was also a Beta release; use Microsoft’s dated Windows 10 archive and release notes to establish channel availability.
Old preview builds are generally poor choices for everyday or sensitive systems: they can lack current security servicing and may cause compatibility, driver, activation, or data problems. If historical reproduction is necessary, use a disposable test device or isolated virtual machine, back up data, and avoid storing sensitive information there.
