Most often, nothing is wrong with your iPhone: Apple puts Full Page inside the screenshot preview, not in the initial screenshot controls. Take the screenshot, tap the thumbnail that appears, and look for Full Page. Apple documents the feature with a complete webpage in Safari, but does not publish a complete list of apps and screens that support it. If the control is absent, the content may not expose a full-page capture in that context; the official documentation does not establish a universal compatibility rule.
Use the documented workflow first
- Open the content you want to capture. For Apple’s documented example, this is a webpage in Safari.
- Take a screenshot using the button combination for your iPhone model. Apple also documents alternative triggers such as AssistiveTouch, Back Tap and Siri in its iPhone screenshot guide.
- Tap the screenshot thumbnail when it appears in the lower-left corner. This opens the screenshot preview.
- In the preview, check for Full Page. Tap it to capture content beyond the visible screen, then use the preview’s save, share, crop or markup controls.
Apple describes the result as capturing “content beyond your iPhone screen” and gives “an entire webpage in Safari” as its example. The option is therefore a preview-stage choice, not a switch you turn on before taking the screenshot.

Why Full Page may not appear
The current app or content may not expose a full-page capture
Apple’s guide demonstrates Full Page with a Safari webpage, but it does not provide an exhaustive support matrix for apps, documents, feeds, embedded views or protected screens. You should not assume that every app, every browser page or every scrollable interface offers the control. A missing button can reflect the content being captured rather than a hardware fault.
Because Apple does not publish a universal compatibility rule in the cited guide, claims such as “Full Page only works in Safari” or “this iPhone model cannot use Full Page” go beyond the documented evidence. Treat those as unverified unless Apple or the app developer specifically confirms them.

You are looking at the wrong screen
The control belongs to the screenshot preview. If you dismiss the thumbnail or open a different photo-editing view, you may no longer be in the workflow where Apple documents Full Page. Retake the screenshot and tap the thumbnail immediately so you can check the preview before continuing.
The capture may not represent one continuous page
Full Page is intended for content that extends beyond the visible screen. A single card, a fixed dashboard, a canvas, a video frame or a screen whose content does not have a continuous scrollable extent may not offer a meaningful full-page result. Apple does not state that every such surface is supported, so the absence of the option is not by itself proof of an iOS problem.
Check the Screen Capture setting—but do not expect it to add Full Page
On current iPhone software, Apple documents screenshot-preview controls at Settings > General > Screen Capture. The setting lets you choose between a full-screen preview and a temporary thumbnail. Apple’s instructions are in Change the screen capture settings on iPhone.
- Full-screen preview: the screenshot opens as a larger editing view.
- Temporary thumbnail: a small thumbnail appears briefly at the lower left.
This setting changes how the preview is presented. Apple does not say that it enables Full Page, expands app compatibility or changes which screens can be captured. If you changed it while troubleshooting, take another screenshot and inspect whichever preview style is selected; do not treat the setting as a compatibility switch.

A reliable troubleshooting sequence
1. Reproduce the issue in Safari
Open a normal, scrollable webpage in Safari and repeat the capture steps. This uses the exact type of content Apple chooses for its example. If Full Page appears there, your iPhone’s basic workflow is functioning and the original app or screen is the more likely limiting factor.
2. Capture and open the thumbnail promptly
Use your model’s normal screenshot gesture, then tap the thumbnail before it disappears. Look specifically for the Full Page label in the preview rather than searching the Settings app for a separate Full Page switch.
3. Compare the two preview presentations
Open Settings > General > Screen Capture and temporarily choose the preview style that is easiest for you to inspect. Retake the screenshot and check the preview again. This can make the control easier to find, but it cannot make an unsupported screen compatible.
4. Test the content in its simplest form
For a webpage, try the page without an in-app browser wrapper. If the page is being shown inside another app, open its Share flow and choose Safari when that option is available. This is a diagnostic comparison, not an Apple-documented guarantee that the browser version will provide Full Page.

5. Record the exact context before seeking support
- iPhone model and iOS version
- the app, browser or document being captured
- whether the screenshot thumbnail was opened immediately
- whether Full Page appears for a regular Safari webpage
- the selected preview style under Screen Capture
Those details distinguish a general screenshot problem from content-specific behavior without assuming a compatibility rule Apple has not published.
For a Safari webpage, PDF is a separate built-in option
If your real goal is to keep an entire webpage for reading or sharing, Safari offers a documented PDF workflow even when Full Page is not shown. Apple’s instructions are in Annotate and save a webpage as a PDF in Safari on iPhone.
- Open the webpage in Safari.
- Open the page’s Share flow.
- Choose Markup.
- Use the save control to store the PDF in Files.
This produces a PDF document, not a Full Page screenshot image. A PDF is usually the better choice when selectable text, printing or a multi-page document matters. Full Page is the appropriate choice when you specifically need the screenshot-preview capture and its image-oriented editing workflow.
Viewing changes that do not promise to restore the button
Safari supports viewing tools such as landscape orientation and Reader where available. Apple describes these in Browse the web using Safari on iPhone. They can change layout, remove page clutter or make a page easier to read, but Apple does not claim that rotating the phone, enabling Reader or changing another viewing preference makes Full Page appear. Use them for readability, then check the screenshot preview again; regard any change in behavior as context-specific rather than a guaranteed fix.

Common failure modes outside the iPhone preview
“I enabled full-screen preview, but Full Page is still missing.”
That is expected if the setting only changed the preview presentation. Retake the screenshot, open the preview and test a regular Safari webpage. The Screen Capture setting is not documented as an enablement switch.

“I can see the thumbnail, but there is no Full Page label.”
Check the app and content type. Apple’s guide does not establish that every screen supports the feature. Test the same gesture on a scrollable Safari webpage and record the result for the app developer if only one app fails.
“I need the whole webpage, but the screenshot is not available.”
