Soundraw says you can use, monetize, and share the beats you generate, under a worldwide, perpetual license for commercial use. That gives you broad permission to use the music, but it is not the same as a statement that you own a copyright in every AI-generated note. The U.S. Copyright Office says material generated entirely by AI is not copyrightable under U.S. law; a prompt alone does not make the prompter its author. For a track made with Soundraw, distinguish the license Soundraw describes from any copyright you may be able to claim in your own human-created contributions.
What “Yours” Means In Soundraw’s Claim
Soundraw’s site describes each beat as legally yours to use, monetize, and share, and says each created track carries a worldwide license for commercial use. It also describes that license as perpetual. In practical terms, those statements address permission: Soundraw says you may use the generated music commercially and keep revenue from publishing it. The site further says you can post a track on YouTube, Spotify, TikTok, or elsewhere and keep 100% of the revenue, with no copyright claims.
Those are Soundraw’s licensing claims, not a guarantee that every platform, distributor, or other rights holder will treat a particular upload the same way. Nor do they establish that a purely generated track qualifies for copyright protection. If you need a precise answer about your account, current terms, or an unusual use, read Soundraw’s current terms and check with the service before relying on a broad marketing statement.

A license can authorize you to use music even when copyright ownership is unclear or unavailable. The U.S. Copyright Office’s January 29, 2025 report says works generated entirely by AI are not copyrightable, and that entering prompts alone does not make someone the author. It also says human-authored parts of a mixed work may be protected. So if you arrange, perform, write, or substantially revise material yourself, those human contributions may be treated differently from the generated material; the extent and specifics matter.

If you apply to register a work containing more than a minimal amount of AI-generated material with the U.S. Copyright Office, you must disclose that material and describe the human author’s contribution. The Office’s report explains that registration distinction; it does not decide the terms of your Soundraw subscription or guarantee a result for a particular track. For individual rights questions, consult the official U.S. Copyright Office AI report and seek qualified advice if needed.

The listed plans distinguish background use from music distribution. The monthly prices below are the prices stated on Soundraw’s site; check the vendor’s page for current terms and billing details before subscribing.

For a video, podcast, or other content that uses music behind the main material, Creator is the plan whose listed use is background music. For distributing a song as a release, Artist Starter explicitly lists distribution and monetization, with 10 monthly track downloads. Artist Unlimited lists unlimited monthly track downloads and MP3, WAV, and stems. The supplied plan descriptions do not establish whether every specific release, edit, or distribution route is covered for your situation, so verify those details with Soundraw.

Ownership questions are easier to manage when you decide what role the generated music will play before making a track. Use this checklist to connect your intended use to the license language and keep a record of your human contribution.

- Define the use. Write down whether the track will sit under a video or other content, or be distributed as a song. Soundraw’s listed plan descriptions distinguish background music from distribution and monetization.
- Check the current plan terms. Confirm that your account permits the use you intend, including the publishing route, format, and any edits you plan. The available plan descriptions do not spell out every scenario.
- Make a specific creative brief. Describe the role and feel you need in plain language—for example, “short, restrained instrumental bed for a phone tutorial, with space under spoken instructions,” or “upbeat instrumental opening for a product review.” These are examples of your brief, not claims about Soundraw’s supported genres, controls, or prompt features. Use only choices the service actually offers.
- Keep your human work identifiable. If you add your own lyrics, performance, arrangement, or other original material, retain the drafts and project files that show what you contributed. A prompt by itself does not make you the author of entirely AI-generated material under the Copyright Office’s explanation.
- Save the details. Keep the track, the plan and terms that applied when you created it, and a note of where and how you used it. That helps you answer questions about permission and authorship later; it does not itself create copyright.
- Review the destination’s rules. Soundraw says you can post to YouTube, Spotify, TikTok, or elsewhere, but platform rules can address uploads, monetization, and disclosures separately. Check current platform and distributor requirements before release.
Voices, Samples, And Platform Rules
The listed Soundraw facts establish claims about generated beats and tracks; they do not establish permission to imitate a real singer, use someone else’s recording or sample, or include a voice. If your project involves a recognizable person’s voice, a cover, or third-party audio, get the necessary consent and check Soundraw’s terms and the relevant platform’s rules. Do not assume the music license clears those separate rights.
Platform monetization is also separate from music permission. YouTube says creators must disclose realistic altered or synthetic content that could be mistaken for a real person’s performance. Its inauthentic-content policy targets mass-produced, repetitive, or template-based uploads; the stated policy is not a ban on AI use as such. Spotify has described protections concerning unauthorized vocal impersonation, mass uploads and duplicates, AI disclosures in credits, and labels for artist identities that may be AI-generated. Check the current rules at the destination, especially if your release uses a synthetic identity or could be mistaken for a real performer.

The Safest Short Answer
Soundraw says its generated music is yours to use commercially under a worldwide, perpetual license, and that you can monetize and keep the revenue from releases. Treat that as permission under Soundraw’s terms, not proof that copyright belongs to you in wholly AI-generated music. Your own human-authored contributions may have a different status, and platform rules or third-party rights can still affect publication. Before spending money or uploading a track, match the plan to the use, confirm the current terms, and keep clear records of what you created yourself.
