Update: The Vivo Y300 Plus 5G did launch in India on October 15, 2024. Its official India configuration is 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, listed at ₹29,999 inclusive of taxes. The original October 6 leak was broadly accurate, but its “may launch soon” wording is no longer current. Vivo’s store listing showed the phone as unavailable when checked, so verify stock and the final checkout price before buying.
Vivo Y300 Plus 5G: the confirmed India story
The Vivo Y300 Plus 5G is a 2024 mid-range smartphone with a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor, a 5,000mAh battery and 44W charging. Vivo launched it in India on October 15, 2024, at a listed price of ₹29,999 for the 8GB/128GB model. 91mobiles reports the confirmed launch date, while Vivo’s India specifications page confirms the hardware.
The phone remains worth considering mainly for its large curved 120Hz AMOLED screen and Snapdragon 695 5G platform. However, buyers should account for its older processor, 128GB storage limit, lack of NFC, modest 2MP secondary camera and potentially limited availability.

What the October 6 leak reported
The original report was a pre-launch leak, not a Vivo announcement. It expected the phone to arrive in India at around ₹30,000 with an OLED display, Snapdragon 695 chipset, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, a 5,000mAh battery, 44W charging, a 50MP rear camera and a 32MP selfie camera. Most of those details carried over to the final Indian model. The key difference is that the leaked price and specifications were estimates at the time; the ₹29,999 price and final feature list are now official Vivo India details.

Price, configuration and availability in India
Vivo India lists the Y300 Plus 5G in a single 8GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration at ₹29,999 inclusive of taxes. The listed finishes are Silk Black and Silk Green. Check the official Vivo India store page for live pricing, offers and stock.

Vivo says the Silk Black version uses a composite plastic sheet, while the Silk Green version uses glass. The operating system and pre-installed applications mean usable RAM and storage will be lower than the advertised capacities.
What the main features mean in practice
Curved 120Hz AMOLED display
The 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED panel is the Y300 Plus’s strongest feature on paper. Its 120Hz refresh rate can make scrolling and supported animations look smoother than on a 60Hz display, while the curved design gives the phone a more premium appearance. Vivo’s colour-gamut and contrast figures are manufacturer claims rather than independent test results.
Snapdragon 695 5G
The Snapdragon 695 is an established 6nm mid-range platform with 5G support, including the Indian bands listed by Vivo. It should suit everyday apps, streaming, social media and moderate gaming, but it is an older chipset for a phone positioned near ₹30,000. Buyers seeking newer silicon or stronger long-term gaming performance should compare current alternatives rather than treating the Y300 Plus as a cutting-edge model.

44W charging and 5,000mAh battery
The battery has a typical rated capacity of 5,000mAh, and the phone supports up to 44W charging. The maximum is not a constant charging rate: Vivo notes that charging power is dynamically adjusted during use and across the charging cycle. Vivo India lists a charger in the box.
Camera hardware
The rear setup combines a 50MP main camera with a 2MP secondary sensor. The specifications do not identify the 2MP unit as an ultrawide or telephoto camera, so it should not be presented as a versatile multi-camera system. The 32MP front camera is a notable specification for selfie-focused buyers, but camera quality cannot be established from megapixel counts alone.
IP54 protection and fingerprint reader
IP54 provides a degree of protection against dust and water splashes; it is not the same as waterproofing or a guarantee for immersion. The in-display fingerprint sensor adds a feature commonly associated with more premium phones.

The full name matters: the Y300 Plus is not simply a higher-storage version of the standard Y300. The two phones make different trade-offs.

The standard Y300 may be the better fit if faster charging, higher-rated ingress protection or 256GB storage matters most. The Y300 Plus has the stronger Snapdragon 695 platform and the more premium curved AMOLED positioning, so it remains the more logical choice for buyers prioritising display design and performance over charging speed and storage.

Limitations to consider before buying
- Older processor: Snapdragon 695 is capable but not new, especially at this price positioning.
- Storage ceiling: Vivo’s India listing identifies only 128GB for the Y300 Plus.
- No NFC: Vivo lists NFC as unsupported, which may matter for some tap-to-pay or accessory workflows.
- Basic secondary camera: The 2MP sensor adds limited flexibility compared with a genuine ultrawide or telephoto camera.
- Moderate charging speed: 44W is useful, but slower than the 80W charging offered by the standard Y300.
- Android 14 at launch: The phone launched with Android 14. Buyers purchasing it later should check its current software and security-update status rather than assume a specific support period.
- Availability: The official Vivo listing checked for this article showed the selected product as unavailable.
Buying advice
Consider the Vivo Y300 Plus 5G if you specifically want a large curved AMOLED display, a 120Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 695 5G, an in-display fingerprint reader and a 32MP selfie camera. Its 172g Silk Black version is also relatively light for a phone with this screen size.

Look at the standard Vivo Y300 instead if 256GB storage, 80W charging or IP64 protection is more important. Do not assume it is a performance upgrade: its Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset is weaker than the Y300 Plus’s Snapdragon 695.
Because this is a 2024 model, confirm three things before placing an order: live stock on the official Vivo listing, the current software-update situation, and the final checkout price after any offers or exchange terms.
Bottom line
The Vivo Y300 Plus 5G was not merely a phone that “may launch soon.” It launched in India on October 15, 2024, and the original leak was broadly correct about its price and core hardware. At ₹29,999 for 8GB/128GB, its main attraction is the curved 120Hz AMOLED display paired with Snapdragon 695 5G.
