Yes—Vivaldi has an official native Windows ARM64 build. It launched on August 29, 2024, for Windows-on-Arm PCs, including Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus systems, and remains available in Vivaldi’s desktop downloads. If your PC reports “ARM64-based PC,” choose Windows ARM64 (Snapdragon), not the separate Intel/AMD 64-bit installer. The browser itself can run without x64 emulation, but streaming DRM, extensions with native helper apps, and other software can still have compatibility limits.
What Vivaldi’s Windows ARM announcement means
Vivaldi announced its Windows-on-Arm version on August 29, 2024. The announcement highlighted newer Copilot+ PCs using Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus processors. The key point is that Vivaldi offers a Windows ARM64 application build—not merely its Intel/AMD x64 browser running under Windows’ emulation layer.
That distinction matters on a Snapdragon PC. Windows can emulate many x86 and x64 applications, but an ARM64 build runs natively on the processor. Native execution avoids emulation overhead for the browser process and can be a better fit for responsiveness and power efficiency. Vivaldi said its build brings faster loading, smoother scrolling, and improved responsiveness; those are the company’s claims, not independent benchmark results. Actual battery life and performance depend on the PC, display, workload, extensions, background tabs, and Windows settings.

Which Windows PCs can use it?
The relevant category is Windows on Arm, not simply any computer marketed as an AI PC or Copilot+ PC. Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus systems are prominent examples, and older Snapdragon Windows devices may also be suitable. Vivaldi’s desktop requirements list Windows 10 and newer, though most new Snapdragon laptops ship with Windows 11. Experience can differ by processor generation, device firmware, drivers, and Windows support.
To check your PC, open System Information, select System Summary, and look at System Type. If it says ARM64-based PC, you are using Windows on Arm. A different result means the Snapdragon-specific ARM64 download may not be the right installer for your system.
Download and install the ARM64 build
- Go to the official Vivaldi download page.
- Select Windows ARM64 (Snapdragon). Do not confuse it with Windows 64bit (Intel/AMD) or the legacy 32-bit download.
- Save and run the downloaded
.exeinstaller, accept the license, and follow the setup steps. - Launch Vivaldi and complete its welcome flow. Sign in to Vivaldi Sync if you want supported data such as bookmarks, passwords, history, or settings synced across devices.
Vivaldi’s installer provides options such as per-user or all-user installation, language and destination-folder selection, and standalone installation. It also allows automatic updates to be disabled, but Vivaldi marks that choice as not recommended; updates carry browser fixes and Chromium security updates.

Interface wording can change between releases, so use the About section in the build you installed rather than assuming that a successful setup proves you selected the native package. For installer assurance, Vivaldi recommends downloading from its own site. In Windows, right-click the installer, choose Properties, then Digital Signatures; the signer should be Vivaldi Technologies AS and the signature should be reported as valid. What the native build does—and does not—change
Vivaldi says the ARM version includes its desktop experience, including tab-management and customization tools, tracker and ad blocking, Mail, Calendar, and Sync. The appeal is a feature-rich Chromium-based browser that does not need x64 emulation for its own core application. Vivaldi is free; the decision is not whether to pay for the browser, but whether its workflow and your wider software needs suit a Windows-on-Arm PC.
Because Vivaldi is Chromium-based, many extensions designed for Chromium browsers may work. But extension compatibility and processor compatibility are separate questions. An extension built from browser APIs or JavaScript may be fine, while one that depends on a desktop helper application may need an ARM64-compatible helper. Check with the extension maker for password managers, VPNs, security products, accessibility tools, corporate authentication, and other integrations that install native components. An extension may work even if its companion app does not.
Tracker and ad blocking can reduce some unwanted requests, but blocking behavior varies by site and may affect page functionality. It is not a guarantee of anonymity or complete blocking.

Protected video is a practical caveat that broad “browser is native” claims can obscure. Arm’s browser guidance identifies digital rights management (DRM) as a compatibility consideration on Windows on Arm. A service may behave differently depending on its protected-media requirements, browser, device, drivers, and playback mode. That does not establish that every streaming service will fail in Vivaldi—or that every one will work identically.

Test the services you rely on in the current Vivaldi ARM64 build, including the quality tier and features you need, such as protected content, HDR, or 4K. Keep Microsoft Edge available as a fallback for DRM-sensitive playback, Windows-specific media behavior, or enterprise workflows. Edge is also a sensible choice when maximum Windows integration matters more than interface customization.
Stable, Snapshot, and current release status
Vivaldi continues to list Windows 10+ ARM64 packages in its desktop release material. In a check dated August 18, 2026, Vivaldi’s release page listed stable Vivaldi 8.1, build 4087.61; its Snapshot page listed build 4116.3. These version numbers change frequently, so check the stable release page for the current recommended build and the Snapshot page for test builds.
Stable is the sensible default for everyday browsing. Snapshots are work-in-progress software intended for testing upcoming changes, so they may introduce regressions. Vivaldi’s update history records ongoing releases and fixes.

When to use ARM64, and when x64 may be a workaround

Vivaldi’s standalone mode creates an isolated installation, useful for testing a Snapshot, troubleshooting extensions, or comparing behavior. It is not a promise that a folder can be moved to another PC with all data intact: passwords and extensions are encrypted with a key tied to the user profile on each computer.

How Vivaldi compares with other browsers on Arm
Arm lists Vivaldi, Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Brave, and Chromium among browsers with native Windows-on-Arm availability. Native availability alone does not establish that every service or integration will work the same way on every PC.

These are broad distinctions, not a substitute for checking a particular extension, streaming service, enterprise tool, or peripheral. Arm’s browser compatibility guide is the source for the native-browser list.
Should a Snapdragon PC buyer choose Vivaldi?
Choose the ARM64 build if you already have a Windows-on-Arm PC and want Vivaldi’s customization, tab management, and Chromium-oriented workflow without emulating the browser itself. Keep Edge available if protected streaming, company policies, or Windows-specific media features are essential. Before buying a Snapdragon PC, check the complete software ecosystem you depend on—especially legacy drivers, specialist applications, games with anti-cheat systems, VPNs, security tools, and peripherals. Vivaldi’s native build is a useful piece of the compatibility picture, not a guarantee that every Windows program is ready for Arm.
