Vivaldi 7.5.3735.44 is an official stable desktop browser build released on July 3, 2025. It fixed two problems found in the previous .41 build and included Vivaldi 7.5’s broader feature and Chromium updates. It is now an archived, outdated release; most people should install the current stable version instead and use .44 only when they need to reproduce or test behavior from that period.
What is Vivaldi 7.5.3735.44?
It is a specific build in Vivaldi’s stable desktop 7.5 release line—not a mobile version and not a separate browser. In the version number, 7.5 identifies the feature-release line, 3735 is the release/build branch identifier, and .44 distinguishes this particular build within that branch.
Vivaldi’s official archive lists the build, and Vivaldi published release notes for it. That makes it a genuine Vivaldi release, rather than a version number created by a third-party download listing. The official archive’s Windows and macOS entries date it to July 3, 2025. The version is for Vivaldi on desktop. Vivaldi’s mobile apps use different build identifiers, so do not assume that 7.5.3735.44 describes Vivaldi on Android or iOS.

Where it fits in Vivaldi’s release history
The archive lists desktop 7.5 builds before and after .44: .31 on July 1, 2025; .35 and .41 on July 2 and July 3; and later builds including .47, .54, .56, .58, .62, .64, .66 and .74. The sequence matters: .44 was a July 2025 maintenance update, not the final or current version of Vivaldi.
As of the release page checked on August 16–18, 2026, Vivaldi identifies its desktop stable line as 8.1 (4087.64). Version availability can change, so check Vivaldi’s desktop releases page or the browser’s update checker for the current version.
What changed in build .44?
Compared with Vivaldi 7.5.3735.41, the .44 release notes list two fixes:
- Dashboard widgets could disappear after clearing browser data (issue VB-118178).
- The tab-bar context menu could become inaccessible (issue VB-118155).
These are the changes specific to the .44 maintenance update. They should not be confused with the larger collection of features and fixes introduced across the Vivaldi 7.5 release. Read Vivaldi’s .44 release notes.

What was new in the wider Vivaldi 7.5 release?
Vivaldi 7.5’s headline features included colored tab stacks and an Edit Stack dialog for naming and coloring stacks. The release also changed the default tab layout and updated the Speed Dial design. A browser-level DNS-over-HTTPS preference gave users a setting for encrypted DNS requests.
The release added support for the ad-blocking rule options badfilter, strict3p and strict1p. Its broader maintenance work touched bookmarks, notes, dashboards and widgets, Quick Commands, Mail, Calendar, workspaces and settings, alongside fixes involving crashes, media, downloads, permissions and the user interface. Chromium and security context
Build .44 updated its Chromium component to 138.0.7204.143. Vivaldi’s notes associate that update with a fix for CVE-2025-6554, described there as a V8 type-confusion vulnerability. That is useful historical context, but it does not mean the build is fully patched by today’s standards: later Vivaldi releases include newer browser and Chromium security updates.

Use the official Windows archive or official macOS archive for historical installers. The package list here covers Windows and macOS; it does not establish which Linux packages or distribution configurations are available for this exact build. Avoid third-party old-version mirrors when Vivaldi’s own archive is available.
Should you install Vivaldi 7.5.3735.44?

| You need to reproduce a bug reported against .44 or compare historical behavior | Use .44 in an isolated test setup, such as a virtual machine or separate test device. |

| You handle banking, email, passwords or other sensitive activity | Do not use this obsolete build for that work; use a current browser release. |
| You have a current Vivaldi profile and are considering a downgrade | Do not install .44 over it casually. Back up first and test with a separate profile or environment. |
The trade-off is straightforward: .44 can help reproduce a July 2025 setup, but it lacks later Vivaldi fixes, Chromium security updates, web-compatibility improvements and subsequent operating-system adjustments. For an ordinary new installation, its historical value does not outweigh those drawbacks.
How to update Vivaldi instead
On Windows, open the Vivaldi menu and choose Help → Check for Updates. Review the changelog if an update is offered, then select Install Update.

On macOS, open the Vivaldi menu and choose Check for Updates. Vivaldi’s help page says that an inactive menu item means the browser is already current according to that update check.
Automatic downloading and installation can be configured under Preferences → General → Updates. When enabled, Vivaldi can download an update in the background and install it after restart. See Vivaldi’s update instructions for details.

Download archived builds from Vivaldi’s own archive and check the installer’s signature before running it. Vivaldi states that official installation packages are signed.

Windows
- Right-click the downloaded
.exeand select Properties. - Open Digital Signatures and check that the signer is Vivaldi Technologies AS.
- Open the signature details and confirm Windows reports “This digital signature is OK.”
macOS
Vivaldi documents these checks in Terminal:

spctl --assess -vv /Applications/Vivaldi.appFor Linux, Vivaldi says its packages are self-signed and that the public signing key is included and configured during installation for repository validation. Follow the current instructions for your distribution rather than assuming that a Windows or macOS archive entry establishes Linux package availability or verification steps. Downgrading: protect your profile first
Vivaldi warns that downgrading can corrupt a browser profile, either immediately or later. Do not assume that a current profile will remain safe if you open it in .44, and do not treat a successful first launch as proof that no damage occurred.
If you need .44 for a historical test:
- Back up your Vivaldi profile before changing versions.
- Use a separate test machine, virtual machine or isolated user/profile rather than your everyday browser setup.
- Avoid signing in to Sync unless the test specifically requires it.
- Do not use the old build for sensitive browsing.
- Disable automatic updates only for the duration of the test, if necessary.
- After testing, reinstall the current stable version. Restore the backup or recreate the test profile if the downgrade has affected it.
Vivaldi’s own guidance discourages downgrading; the steps above reduce risk but cannot guarantee profile preservation. Consult its update and downgrade guidance before proceeding.
