Brazilian entertainment coverage linked the viral sound to Ingrid Laien and Los Del Fino.
What “ciumentos” means
Ciumentos is Portuguese for “jealous people” or “the jealous ones.” It was a descriptive nickname for the possessive character in the audio, not a confirmed official TikTok challenge name. You may also see the trend called the “que prima?” trend, the “quem te deu permissão?” trend, the “prima” trend or the “Déjame Revisarte el Celular 2” trend.
The documented wave peaked in Brazilian TikTok and entertainment coverage in late August 2022. It was primarily a dialogue performance and lip-sync, not a dance challenge with required choreography, clothing or effects.
What happens in the audio?
The excerpt plays like a short relationship quarrel. In a rough translation, the man says he is going out with a female cousin who has come from the countryside or interior. The woman interrupts with “¿Qué prima?” and later asks who gave him permission to go. He answers that nobody needs to authorize him because he is informing her rather than asking.

- Clear, full-range sound you might not expect from a compact speaker
- Voice prompts make pairing your devices easier than ever
- Up to 8 hours of music from rechargeable lithium-ion battery
- Wireless connection to your smartphone, tablet or other Bluetooth-enabled device
Those translations are approximate; they are an explanation of the joke, not official subtitles. The humor comes from the rapid escalation from ordinary information to an exaggerated jealousy argument, followed by a more rhythmic musical section.
Which song and sound label were used?
Brazilian reports identified the audio as “Déjame Revisarte el Celular 2”, credited to Ingrid Laien and Los Del Fino. Some TikTok sound labels rendered it as “Con Una Prima Déjame Revisarte El Celular 2.” Both names appear in contemporary coverage, so the difference may reflect the underlying release title versus the label attached to the specific TikTok excerpt. The attribution is reported by Brazilian media rather than confirmed here through a surfaced first-party artist or platform page. See Terra, POPline and Metrópoles.
The title’s reference to checking a cellphone is related context, but the viral excerpt most people recognized was the cousin-and-permission exchange. A “ciumentos” video did not necessarily show anyone searching a partner’s phone.

How creators used the trend
Creators treated the sound as an acting prompt:
- Couples played the suspicious partner and the person being questioned.
- Friends, relatives and celebrity pairings adapted the argument to their own relationship dynamic.
- Solo creators performed both sides or emphasized facial expressions and reactions rather than matching every word.
- Videos relied on timing, eye contact and exaggerated body language instead of a fixed dance.
Contemporary coverage named or featured versions by Jade Picon, Larissa Manoela, André Luiz Frambach, Giovanna Ewbank, Carlinhos Maia and GKay.
Why it was easy to reproduce
The following are practical explanations for the format’s spread, not official findings from TikTok:
- Immediate conflict: the cousin setup and demand for permission are understandable within seconds.
- Call-and-response timing: each line gives another performer a clear cue.
- Comic exaggeration: intense suspicion can be acted broadly without a complicated premise.
- Flexible casting: couples, friends, family members and solo performers can all stage it.
- A memorable hook: “¿Qué prima?” is short, distinctive and easy to recognize in a feed.
Reports put the trend’s reach in the millions, but they cited different measurements rather than one stable platform total:

Was it mainly Brazilian or global?
The audio was in Spanish, while the strongest available coverage documents substantial attention in Brazilian TikTok culture and entertainment media. That supports describing Brazil as a major documented audience, not declaring that Brazil was the only country involved or that the trend was globally dominant.

1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesIs “ciumentos” still trending in 2026?
The identifiable trend is historical: its well-documented surge occurred in August 2022. As of August 18, 2026, search results showing newer songs with “ciumentos” in their titles do not establish a continuation of the same meme. For example, “Proibido aos Ciumentos” is a separate 2026 release, not evidence that the original “¿Qué prima?” sound has returned.

Does the meme endorse unhealthy jealousy?
In the trend, jealousy was generally performed as relationship comedy. The dialogue nevertheless uses themes that can be harmful outside a skit: demanding explanations, questioning a partner’s friends or relatives, asking who authorized someone’s movements and treating routine information as suspicious.
That distinction matters. A creator can portray an exaggerated jealous character without endorsing surveillance or coercive control. In real relationships, demands for phone access, permission for ordinary activities or constant proof of whereabouts are control issues, not requirements of a healthy partnership.

- The Spanish-language sound associated with Ingrid Laien and Los Del Fino.
- A man says he is going out with a cousin.
- The response “¿Qué prima?” (“Which cousin?”).
- The demand “¿Y quién te dio permiso?” (“Who gave you permission?”).
- A playful suspicious-partner performance or exaggerated reaction.
- A TikTok sound label using “Déjame Revisarte el Celular 2” or “Con Una Prima Déjame Revisarte El Celular 2.”
The word ciumentos alone is not enough. TikTok also contains unrelated jealousy jokes, older Portuguese-language posts and later songs using the same word, including content such as this unrelated “vocês são ciumentos?” example.
Bottom line
“Ciumentos” was a short-lived 2022 TikTok performance format built around a Spanish jealous-argument audio. The cousin setup, “¿Qué prima?” and “Who gave you permission?” identify the original trend more reliably than the nickname itself; later music or generic jealousy videos should not be conflated with it.
