The UMIDIGI C1 Max is a real 2022 budget 4G phone with a 5,150mAh battery, up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Those basics can still suit calls, messaging, browsing and video, but Android 12, a 720p screen and 10W charging make it a cautious buy in 2026. Consider it only at a genuinely low price, after checking the exact model, carrier support, security-patch date and return terms.

What the C1 Max is—and what it is not
The C1 Max belongs to UMIDIGI’s 2022 C1/G1 budget-phone family. It is not simply another name for the regular C1 or C1 Plus: the Max model is listed with a Unisoc T610 processor and a 6GB/128GB configuration, so listings that mix those names or specs deserve scrutiny. It is also distinct from the G1 Max, despite the shared family and similar naming.
Before buying, confirm that the listing says C1 Max and that its processor, memory, storage and camera arrangement match the product you expect. Marketplace descriptions sometimes copy details from another model or a generic template. The manufacturer describes the memory as “up to 6GB”; verify whether the particular unit has 6GB of physical RAM or whether a seller is counting software-based memory expansion.

Everyday performance: suitable for basics, not demanding games
The Unisoc T610 is an entry-level platform. It should be adequate for calls, messaging, email, ordinary browsing, social apps, navigation and video streaming. The 6GB/128GB specification is useful for keeping apps and files, though storage speed and overall responsiveness are not comparable to a current mid-range phone.
Do not buy it expecting smooth performance in demanding 3D games, intensive multitasking or video editing. UL’s C1 Max benchmark page includes user-submitted results, with low frame rates in demanding Sling Shot Extreme graphics tests. Those scores help indicate the phone’s performance class; they are not controlled tests or a promise of what every unit will deliver. Heat, background apps and test conditions affect results.
Large screen, modest sharpness
The 6.52-inch display gives apps and video plenty of physical space, but its 1600 × 720 resolution is a compromise at that size. Text and fine details will look less crisp than on a Full HD screen. It may be perfectly usable for basic viewing and reading, but the official specification does not establish premium brightness, HDR, wide-gamut color or other high-end display features. UMIDIGI community material reports a 60Hz refresh rate; the company’s main specification page does not prominently confirm it.
Do not assume it has an OLED or AMOLED panel based on an inconsistent third-party listing. UMIDIGI lists the resolution and size without establishing OLED technology; a benchmark database identifies the display as IPS.
50MP on paper, with practical limits
The rear camera combines a 50MP main sensor with a 2MP depth camera, while the front camera is 8MP. UMIDIGI lists modes such as portrait, panorama, HDR, night photography and time-lapse. The main camera’s megapixel count alone cannot establish image quality: it does not tell you how well the phone handles focus, motion, dynamic range or low light. Treat daylight photos as a possible fit for casual sharing or documentation, not as a guaranteed strength, and keep expectations modest in dim conditions. The listed video ceiling is 1080p at 30fps on the rear camera and 720p at 30fps on the front; no 4K or optical stabilization is listed.
Battery capacity is generous; charging is slow
A 5,150mAh battery is one of the C1 Max’s more attractive specifications. UMIDIGI advertises up to 300 hours of standby, 20 hours of calling, 25 hours of music playback, seven hours of gaming and seven hours of video playback. These are manufacturer estimates, not standardized independent battery-test results. Actual endurance depends on signal strength, screen brightness, apps, battery condition and usage.

The main trade-off is 10W charging. USB-C tells you the connector type, not the charging speed; this is not a modern fast-charging phone, and topping up can take a long time. If buying old stock or a used handset in 2026, ask about battery condition and test it during the return window. Confirm that the included charger has a plug and electrical rating suitable for your region.

Android 12 is a major 2026 consideration
The manufacturer lists Android 12. That is an older software platform by 2026, and the available product information does not establish a guaranteed Android upgrade path or current security-patch commitment. A seller’s claim that the phone is running Android 12 does not mean its security updates are current.
Ask for the installed software build and security-patch date, and check update history immediately after setup. If you need a phone for sensitive financial use or several more years of dependable updates, a newer device with a clearer support policy is the safer choice.
Check carrier support before importing
The official specifications list these cellular bands:
- 4G FDD-LTE: B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B7, B8, B12, B17, B20, B28A and B28B
- 4G TDD-LTE: B38, B40 and B41
- 3G WCDMA: B1, B2, B4, B5 and B8
- 2G GSM: B2, B3, B5 and B8
It is a 4G phone, not a 5G device. UMIDIGI describes dual-SIM operation and dual 4G/VoLTE capability, but also warns that VoLTE depends on the carrier. Having a carrier’s LTE band on the specification sheet does not guarantee that the phone is approved or fully functional on that network. Certification rules, VoLTE profiles, regional firmware, IMEI restrictions and local network shutdowns can all matter.

The official specification does not list NFC, eSIM, wireless charging or 5G. Treat the C1 Max as a conventional physical-SIM 4G handset unless documentation for the exact regional edition proves otherwise.

The tray is hybrid: you can use two nano-SIMs, or one nano-SIM plus a microSD card (listed up to 256GB). You cannot necessarily use two SIMs and a memory card at the same time. If you rely on dual-SIM service, account for the fact that adding expandable storage may mean giving up the second SIM slot.
Availability, price and what to check at checkout
UMIDIGI’s product page continues to present the C1 Max and links to sales channels, but that does not confirm live stock or a current price in every country. No dependable universal 2026 price is established here. A 2023 promotion at $99.99 and third-party price-comparison listings are historical or changeable signals, not a current guaranteed offer.
Check the delivered price in your country, including shipping, tax and import fees. Distinguish first-party or licensed-store inventory from third-party marketplace stock, and new from used or refurbished units. The official UMIDIGI store page describes its online store and broad service terms, but confirm the terms for the actual listing and destination. UMIDIGI also lists regional Amazon storefronts in its store-channel information; on any marketplace, verify who the seller is and what warranty and returns apply.
At checkout, verify the exact model and physical RAM, condition and battery status, carrier/VoLTE compatibility, security-patch date, included charger and plug, and return window. Old stock can have a battery that has aged even if the phone is unused. UMIDIGI’s standard box list includes the handset, pre-applied screen protector, case, USB-C cable, adapter, SIM ejector and quick-start guide, but packaging may vary by seller and region.
Who should consider it?
- Consider it if you need an inexpensive basic phone, value battery capacity and storage, and have verified network support and a usable return policy.
- Compare carefully if you mainly want a large screen, headphone jack, dual-SIM flexibility or expandable storage; decide whether those benefits offset the old software and slow charging.
- Skip it if you need 5G, NFC payments, eSIM, demanding gaming, a strong camera, rapid charging, confirmed long-term updates or carrier compatibility you cannot verify.
A newer entry-level phone may bring a more recent software base and better-defined support; a used mainstream phone may offer stronger cameras or carrier acceptance but comes with battery and condition risks. A newer UMIDIGI or other 5G budget model may be a better fit, but compare the exact specifications and update policy rather than assuming every newer model is an upgrade.
