The Ulefone Armor 34 Pro is a rugged Android phone built around two unusually ambitious features: a 25,500mAh battery and a built-in 150-lumen autofocus projector. Both can be useful in the field, but neither makes it an easy everyday phone: at 825g and 32.7mm thick, it is closer to a portable field appliance than a handset. The projector is for dark or dim settings, not bright rooms or daylight. If endurance and occasional projection matter more than portability, it is distinctive; for most buyers, its weight and projector limits are decisive compromises.
What the Armor 34 Pro is—and which model this covers
Announced in May 2025, the Armor 34 Pro combines rugged-phone hardware with a projector, a very large battery, infrared night vision and a high-output rear light. Ulefone positions it for people who may work or spend time away from power and conventional presentation equipment. Its headline specifications include a 6.95-inch 120Hz display, MediaTek Dimensity 7300, 16GB of physical RAM, 512GB storage and Android 15, according to Ulefone’s Pro listing.
This article is about the Armor 34 Pro, not the similarly named Armor 34 Pro+. Ulefone lists the Pro+ with a Dimensity 7400X; its processor and configuration should not be attributed to the Pro. The two official product pages are Armor 34 Pro and Armor 34 Pro+.
Design and portability: closer to a field appliance than a phone
The Pro measures 183.1 × 86.6 × 32.7mm and weighs 825g, in Magic Black. Those figures, listed by Ulefone, make it more than twice the weight of many mainstream smartphones. This is not a phone that merely feels a little chunky: it is a substantial item to carry, hold one-handed or keep in an ordinary pocket. A pouch, holster, backpack or MOLLE attachment is more realistic for regular transport.

The projector and its cooling hardware shape the back of the device. TechRadar describes a solid build and notes that the fan becomes noticeable after the projector has run for roughly a minute. The projector vent and optical hardware also help explain why this design does not include a conventional headphone jack. Volume controls are on the left; the power button, which also incorporates fingerprint unlocking, is on the right. For long viewing sessions, wired or wireless audio is more practical than expecting the phone to handle like a thin media handset. TechRadar’s review provides independent hands-on context.
Projector: useful in darkness, limited by brightness and resolution
Ulefone specifies a 0.2-inch DMD DLP projector rated at 150 lumens, with 854 × 480 resolution, autofocus, a 1.3:1 throw ratio and a claimed 30-to-100-inch image size. It offers manual vertical keystone correction of up to ±40 degrees. The official specification is at Ulefone’s product page. The combination can put a presentation or video on a nearby wall without a separate projector, but 150 lumens is modest: the image needs a dark or dim environment to look convincing. A 100-inch maximum is a stated capability, not a promise of a bright, sharp 100-inch picture.
At 854 × 480, fine text, spreadsheets and detailed engineering drawings will look soft even when focused. It is better suited to simple diagrams, slides with large text, maps shown for discussion and casual video than to reading dense interfaces. Ambient light is the practical constraint: expect the image to wash out in daylight or a brightly lit office. The built-in Projector app controls projection. Autofocus is specified by Ulefone, while keystone correction is manual vertical correction; it should not be described as fully automatic geometry correction. A 1.3:1 throw ratio means the phone needs room between its lens and the wall as image size increases. The stated throw-distance range is approximately 34.02–113.75 inches. For a usable picture, place the phone on a stable surface, aim it squarely at a clear wall and dim the room before enlarging the image. A steep or ceiling angle can require correction and may not behave like a straightforward wall projection.

TechRadar notes fan noise during extended projection. Some owners have also reported autofocus delays or inconsistent projector behavior after software changes; these are individual reports, not evidence that every unit has a fault. They are worth bearing in mind if the projector is mission-critical. See the owner experience report and discussion of a system update. Dust, condensation or damage around the projector window could also affect an optical system, so rugged construction should not be mistaken for protection against every kind of projector failure.
Ulefone advertises a 100-inch maximum image, but the available specifications do not establish a guaranteed projector runtime, battery drain rate, charging time from empty, or measured performance at each image size. Those results depend on conditions and cannot be inferred from the lumen rating. If projection quality is the priority, a dedicated projector is the more appropriate comparison; the phone’s advantage is having projection available in the same rugged device.
Battery and charging: extraordinary capacity, with a sealed-cell trade-off
The built-in lithium-ion polymer battery is rated at 25,500mAh. Ulefone lists up to 66W wired charging and 10W reverse wired charging, as well as up to 138 hours of talk time and 1,380 hours of standby. Those endurance figures are manufacturer estimates, not independent guarantees of days of mixed use. The company also markets up to 10 days of continuous operation; actual runtime changes substantially with screen brightness, mobile signal, 5G, projector and floodlight use, gaming, camera work and temperature. For field workers or campers who cannot recharge nightly, the capacity is the phone’s clearest practical advantage. It can also serve as a source of wired power for another device, although 10W reverse charging is not a substitute for a fast charger. The trade is substantial mass and slower overall charging than the 66W headline might suggest: maximum input power does not mean the phone sustains that rate through a full charge. The battery is non-removable, so eventual cell aging is harder to address than with a device designed for user-swappable batteries.

Notebookcheck reports a nominal-energy conversion of about 98.7Wh for this capacity, based on 25,500mAh at 3.87V: Notebookcheck’s product coverage. That is close to the 100Wh threshold commonly relevant to airline battery policies. Do not assume automatic approval or rejection: check the current rules of the airline and route before flying with it.
Display, performance and storage
The 6.95-inch display is listed as FHD+ (1080 × 2460), with a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 5. Review specifications give its claimed brightness as about 600 nits. The large screen is useful for maps, documents and media, but its size reinforces the device’s awkwardness for one-handed use. The cited specifications do not establish how easily it remains readable in every outdoor lighting condition.
The MediaTek Dimensity 7300, 16GB physical RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage are more conventional strengths for a rugged phone in this category. The hardware should suit everyday communication, navigation, work apps and multitasking; TechRadar rated the display and processor positively overall. It is not evidence of flagship gaming performance, and sustained heavy use can create different thermal demands from ordinary tasks. The 512GB capacity is useful for offline maps, video and field files, while Ulefone lists microSD/TF expansion up to 2TB and a dual-Nano-SIM plus TF-card arrangement. Check the exact card-and-SIM configuration you need before purchase, since the expansion slot is shared by design on many dual-SIM phones.

Cameras, night vision and the rear light
The camera set is reported as a 50MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide, 64MP infrared night-vision camera and 32MP front camera. The rear camping/floodlight is rated by Ulefone at up to 1,100 lumens; the phone also offers warning-light modes, including red, blue and red/blue combinations, plus SOS functionality. Megapixel counts alone do not establish image quality. In particular, the infrared camera is a specialized tool for seeing in darkness, not a replacement for a conventional low-light camera; infrared illumination can produce monochrome images and artifacts, and its usefulness depends on the subject distance and available IR light. The available material does not establish a reliable range, video quality, or flagship-level daylight dynamic range for these cameras. Treat the high-output rear light as work or emergency equipment rather than a photographic flash: a powerful nearby light can create glare or overexpose a close subject. Some owners report that high-power functions may be restricted when battery charge falls below roughly 15%; this is anecdotal, not a confirmed universal threshold. One long-term owner report describes that behavior.
Ruggedness: protection ratings are not a promise of indestructibility
Ulefone lists IP68, IP69K and MIL-STD-810H for the Armor 34 Pro. These labels describe specified protection claims, not immunity to every drop, liquid, chemical or environment. Ulefone’s regional product pages give differing maximum immersion depths—approximately 1.5m, 1.8m or 2.0m for up to 30 minutes—so buyers should rely on the specification for their sales region rather than treating those figures as interchangeable. Its product page also describes the testing as controlled laboratory testing: Ulefone product details; regional Pro listing.
- Water resistance can diminish with wear, impact, repair or damaged seals.
- Do not charge the phone while it is wet; accessory ports, charger and accessories are not thereby made water-resistant.
- MIL-STD-810H does not mean the phone passed every possible military test in every configuration.
- The projector’s optical window is a distinct point of vulnerability compared with a sealed, ordinary camera lens.
Software and long-term ownership
The Pro is listed with Android 15. The available cited product information and coverage do not establish a security-patch date for every unit, a firm future Android-upgrade schedule, or a multi-year security-support commitment. Buyers who keep phones for years should ask Ulefone for the support policy applying to their region and verify the delivered unit’s patch level and update status before depending on it for managed or security-sensitive work.
The Projector app is part of the feature set, but the available information does not establish whether projection can mirror, extend or independently display content in every app, nor does it settle DRM and streaming-service support or Google Play certification for all regions. Check the specific apps and workflows you rely on. Owners have posted reports of software bugs and changes in projector behavior after updates; these reports are anecdotal and do not establish a defect rate. Who should buy it—and who should not
It makes sense for
- Field technicians, outdoor workers or emergency teams who genuinely use a very large battery, rugged construction, night vision or warning lighting.
- Campers and crews who want occasional wall projection in dark surroundings without carrying a separate projector.
- Buyers who accept carrying an 825g device and value endurance more than pocketability.
Look elsewhere if
- You want a comfortable daily phone, a headphone jack, flagship cameras or a thin device.
- You need bright projection, high-resolution projected text, or reliable viewing in a lit room.
- You require a clearly documented multi-year software-update policy or easy battery replacement.
- You fly often and would rather avoid checking a battery near the commonly relevant 100Wh airline-policy threshold.
A normal rugged phone plus a power bank will usually be easier to carry and may be easier to service. A separate projector paired with an ordinary phone is the better route when image brightness and resolution matter more than all-in-one convenience. The Armor 34 Pro’s case is strongest when its specialized functions are things you will actually use—not simply appealing specifications on a product page.
