Turn your story into a cinematic cue sheet first, then use AIVA’s style generation, audio or MIDI influences, and track editing to build one cue for each beat. This keeps the music aligned with the plot while staying practical on a budget phone or computer.
Prepare The Story As Musical Beats
Read the short story once and divide it into scenes or emotional turns. Write one line for each beat, including its approximate duration, mood, and what changes on screen. A useful cue sheet might look like this:
- Opening: 20 seconds of quiet curiosity.
- Discovery: 35 seconds as tension begins.
- Chase: 60 seconds with a faster, urgent pulse.
- Aftermath: 30 seconds that releases the tension.
Choose a recurring musical idea for the main character and a different texture for the threat or problem. These contrasts give a short soundtrack a sense of narrative instead of sounding like unrelated background tracks.

Build The First Cue
- Open AIVA and select a broad style that matches the scene, such as a restrained style for the opening or a more energetic style for the chase. AIVA generates music in more than 250 styles, but the directory information does not establish which styles are specifically cinematic, so confirm the available choices in the app.
- Generate a short draft for the opening beat. Keep the first cue simple enough to leave space for narration and dialogue.
- Listen for the story’s recurring idea: does the music feel like the same character or world you will revisit later? If not, regenerate with a closer style choice.
Use An Influence To Keep Cues Consistent
AIVA accepts audio or MIDI influences. If you already have a hummed motif, a MIDI phrase, or a legally usable reference recording, upload it as an influence for the next cue. Use the same motif for the character and change the surrounding style or intensity for each scene.
Only upload material you created or have permission to use. AIVA’s listed capabilities do not establish permission to use someone else’s recording, so check the platform terms before importing a reference.

Edit The Generated Track To Match The Plot
- Open the generated track in AIVA’s editor.
- Trim or rearrange sections so the musical change lands near the story beat where the action changes.
- Remove sections that compete with speech, then keep the strongest motif for the reveal or final image.
- Repeat the process for each cue, keeping your scene names in the filenames so assembly is easy later.
AIVA supports editing generated tracks, but the supplied information does not confirm frame-accurate video sync, automatic story analysis, vocal generation, or a particular mobile app. Align the cues manually in the video editor you already use and check AIVA’s current product details for any workflow you need.
Assemble The Soundtrack
- Place the opening cue under the first scene and leave a short fade or quiet gap before dialogue begins.
- Bring back the character motif at later turning points so the score connects the scenes.
- Increase musical density or momentum for the chase, then use the aftermath cue to create release.
- Watch the complete story once with the music and note any point where the score changes too early or too late; return to AIVA’s editor and adjust that cue.

AIVA does not provide vocal generation, so this workflow is for instrumental cinematic scoring. Keep consent records for every uploaded influence and follow AIVA’s plan-specific licensing terms for publication and monetisation. If your story video includes a person’s voice or another creator’s recording, obtain the necessary permission separately.
