Tesla’s Model 3/Y Dashboard Décor Wing is an official replacement dashboard trim piece for qualifying newer Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. It comes in Charcoal Suede or Carbon Fiber, and Tesla’s U.S. listing showed prices of $250 and $300 respectively, with service-center shipping and installation included. It is a cosmetic customization—not an upgrade to range, charging, performance or software. The U.S. listing showed the item out of stock when checked on August 18, 2026, so confirm current stock and price before planning a purchase.
What Tesla is selling
The Décor Wing is a trim insert intended to change the appearance of the dashboard. Tesla describes it as an aesthetic styling option; it does not add controls or features. The product is listed in two finishes:
- Charcoal Suede: a deep matte-gray, soft-touch finish. Tesla says it is made from 100% vegan suede.
- Carbon Fiber: a dark gray and black cross-woven look with an epoxy finish, according to Tesla.
Those material and appearance descriptions come from Tesla’s product listing. They do not establish improvements to comfort, durability, glare, sound insulation or cabin quality.

Tesla lists the accessory for Model 3 vehicles produced in 2024 or later and Model Y vehicles produced in 2025 or later. The production-year wording matters: a vehicle registered or purchased in a given year may have been built earlier. If your car is near either cutoff, check eligibility against your Tesla account or ask a Service Center before ordering.

Tesla may require sign-in with the account associated with the vehicle to verify eligibility. Treat the listing, rather than a broad model-name assumption, as the authority for a particular car.
U.S. price and availability
The U.S. Tesla Shop displayed $250 for Charcoal Suede and $300 for Carbon Fiber (a $250–$300 range). These are a dated U.S. price snapshot from August 18, 2026, not a promise of current inventory or a quote for other markets. Taxes, local availability and prices can change. At that check, the U.S. page showed the accessory as out of stock.

Pricing differs by country: Tesla’s listings showed C$345–C$415 in Canada and £215–£255 in the U.K.; New Zealand listings showed NZ$468 for the individual finishes. Check the Tesla Shop for your region rather than converting another market’s listed price into a local estimate: Canada, U.K. and New Zealand.

Installation and ordering
Tesla’s U.S. listing says shipping to the selected Tesla Service Center and installation are included in the purchase price. This is presented as a service-installed accessory; the product page does not provide a consumer DIY procedure. That makes the price different from a bare trim-cover price: it includes Tesla’s stated installation, while a third-party part may require separate labor and bring its own fit, rattling, adhesive-residue or removal concerns.

Tesla’s regional accessory instructions document this app route for arranging installation: open the Tesla app → Service → Request Service → Upgrades and Accessories → Accessory Installation, enter the accessory name in the details, select Next, provide an address, choose a nearby Service Center, and choose an available time. Tesla’s instructions say the service team reviews the appointment. App labels and procedures can vary by region, so follow the prompts shown for your account and confirm local availability. Do not assume a home installation is straightforward or that the original trim can be removed and restored without risk. The official listing directs buyers toward Tesla installation but does not say DIY is impossible. If you are considering disassembly, ask Tesla about the procedure and any service or warranty implications for your vehicle; no model-specific installation manual or claim about effects on adjacent components is established by the product listing.

Did Tesla launch it because customers asked?
The accessory gives eligible owners another official way to personalize the cabin, but the claim that Tesla has “finally listened” is an interpretation, not a verified Tesla explanation. The available product listing confirms the accessory and its styling purpose; it does not document a customer campaign, survey, petition or company statement tying the launch to a specific demand. The product was reported in May 2025 and remains listed in Tesla’s Shop, though the U.S. page showed out of stock in August 2026. It should not be presented as a newly launched feature now.
Is it worth the price?
The Décor Wing makes the most sense for an eligible owner who dislikes the existing dashboard appearance, prefers one of Tesla’s two finishes, and values an official fitment path with installation included. It is a premium-priced cosmetic choice, not a functional EV upgrade.

- Consider it if factory-backed styling and service installation are more important to you than the lowest possible cost, and you can wait for stock and a service appointment.
- Skip it if you like the original trim, want more range or performance, own a vehicle outside the listed production years, or cannot conveniently use a Service Center.
- Compare carefully with an aftermarket cover or panel. Independent products may offer more colors or a lower initial price, but fit, installation, removability and quality vary; no particular seller or alternative has been verified here.
Before ordering, confirm your vehicle’s production eligibility, finish and final local price; check that the item is in stock and available for your account; ask about appointment timing and local return terms. For example, Tesla’s New Zealand listing says service-installed accessories are non-refundable after installation, but that regional term should not be assumed to apply in the United States. A cosmetic change also should not be counted on to raise resale value.
