The right fix depends on what “not showing” means: one missing pack, blank thumbnails, stickers that will not send, or animations and emoji suggestions that have stopped working. Start with the least disruptive checks below. Telegram’s in-app cache can be cleared without logging out, but it cannot bring back a pack that has been removed.
First, identify the problem

For a quick baseline, open Saved Messages, try one sticker, then try a different pack and another chat. If the same account can use the pack in another official Telegram client, that is a useful clue that the pack is intact and the issue may be local to the original app. It is a diagnostic inference, not a guarantee.
Try these low-risk fixes first
- Close Telegram completely and reopen it. Test the sticker again in Saved Messages and another chat.
- Change networks. Switch between Wi-Fi and cellular data. If you use a VPN, proxy, firewall, or filtering DNS, temporarily disable it to test whether it is blocking media downloads.
- Update Telegram. Install the latest version available for your device from its official app store or Telegram’s official distribution channel. Menu names and features can vary by platform and release.
- Clear Telegram’s in-app cache. The general path in Telegram’s FAQ is Settings → Data and Storage → Storage Usage → Clear Cache. The wording or location can differ across clients. Telegram describes cache clearing as removing local copies of media so they can be downloaded again when needed (Telegram FAQ; Telegram’s cache and stickers announcement).
Clearing the in-app cache can help with stale thumbnails or incomplete local downloads. It normally does not delete cloud chats or installed packs, but Telegram may need to download media again, which takes time and data. Use Telegram’s own Clear Cache control first. Do not jump to your phone’s system-level Clear Data or Clear Storage; those controls can remove local app data or sign you out.
If just one sticker pack is missing
First check whether the pack is installed. Open Telegram’s sticker panel and look for its settings or management control. You can also check Telegram Settings for a section called Stickers and Emoji, Stickers and Masks, Appearance, or something similar. The name and location are not universal; Telegram has moved sticker controls between sections in different releases.

If you have a message containing a sticker from the pack:
- Open the chat and tap or click the sticker.
- Choose View Sticker Pack, or the equivalent pack-preview option in your client.
- If Telegram offers an Add button, add the pack again.
Telegram’s sticker-management guidance describes opening a sticker message and using View Sticker Pack to view or add the pack; exact wording can vary by client (Telegram translation strings).

If the pack link says it cannot be found, the pack may be unavailable rather than broken on your device. Public sticker sets can be removed after legal or policy review; a creator or Telegram would need to confirm the reason. Clearing cache cannot restore a removed pack (Telegram FAQ). If the pack opens but there is no Add button, it may already be installed. Try refreshing Telegram or checking its sticker-management screen.
If all stickers or thumbnails are blank
When every pack is affected, work through the general checks: restart Telegram, try another network, update the app, and clear its in-app cache. Then test the same account on another official client, such as Telegram Desktop or Telegram Web if available to you. Telegram supports using an account on multiple devices, and ordinary cloud chats are available across devices. If stickers work elsewhere, the comparison points toward a local client or rendering problem; if they fail everywhere, consider the pack, account, network, or a temporary Telegram-side issue.

Reinstalling may refresh damaged local app files, but it is not a guaranteed fix. Before reinstalling or logging out, make sure you control the phone number on the account and can receive a login code. If two-step verification is enabled, have the password and recovery access ready. Ordinary cloud chats differ from Secret Chats: Telegram says Secret Chats are device-specific and are lost when you log out (Telegram FAQ).
If animated stickers do not move
A sticker may be visible but static, play once and stop, stutter, or fail to load entirely. These are different symptoms. Look in Telegram Settings for terms such as animated stickers, Loop Animated Stickers, or Power Saving. The control’s location and availability vary by client and version; Telegram has documented changes to Android animation settings (Telegram bug tracker; Telegram bug tracker).

- Restart Telegram and clear its in-app cache if the animation is stuck loading.
- Try the same sticker in another official client.
If static stickers work but one animated pack does not, the problem may be specific to that pack or the client’s renderer. A setting that changes playback will not restore a missing thumbnail or a pack that has been removed.

If emoji sticker suggestions are missing
Suggestions are separate from access to the pack. If you can open a sticker manually but Telegram no longer suggests stickers when you type or choose an emoji, check for a Suggest Stickers by Emoji preference. Depending on the client, suggestions may be disabled or limited to selected packs. Also, a pack does not necessarily include a sticker associated with every emoji. Telegram’s sticker documentation explains that stickers can be associated with emoji, and its settings vary by client (Telegram sticker documentation; Telegram import-sticker documentation).

If custom or imported stickers fail
A file that looks like an image may still be incompatible with Telegram’s sticker requirements. Telegram documents different formats for different sticker types: static stickers can use PNG or WEBP, animated stickers use TGS, and video stickers use WEBM with VP9. An animated WEBP is not a supported animated-sticker format. Dimensions, file-size limits, and animation requirements also vary by format. Check Telegram’s current technical guidance rather than assuming that an image-viewer preview means the file is valid (Telegram sticker documentation; Telegram import-sticker documentation).
For a simple test, make a small sticker with Telegram’s in-app Sticker Editor or use the official @Stickers bot/mini app. If that works but your imported file does not, investigate the file format and specifications before resetting the app.
Android, iPhone, Desktop, and Web differences
Sticker-setting paths and labels can differ between Android, iOS, Desktop, and Web, and may change with app updates. On Android, manufacturer battery savers or task-killer tools can affect apps; Telegram specifically discusses certain manufacturers’ battery controls in its notification troubleshooting, but that does not establish them as the cause of every sticker issue. On iPhone, do not assume an old iOS rendering bug explains a current problem: historical bug reports apply to the releases they describe, not necessarily to today’s app.

A browser client may render or animate content differently from a native app, so use it as a comparison rather than a definitive compatibility test.

When to stop troubleshooting locally
- One pack fails, others work: reopen the pack from a sticker message, check its link, and add it again if possible.
- All packs fail on one device: restart, update, clear Telegram’s cache, and test another official client.
- Only animations fail: check animation and power-saving settings, then compare another client.
- Only emoji suggestions fail: check suggestion preferences and remember that not every sticker has every emoji association.
- The pack cannot be opened anywhere: it may have been removed or become unavailable; local cache steps will not restore it.
- The issue persists across clients and packs: report it through Telegram’s support or reporting options with your device, operating system, Telegram version, client type, pack link, and steps to reproduce. Do not assume a response time.
