The Tecno Spark 40 5G is an officially documented phone in TECNO’s 2025 Spark 40 generation. Its headline features are a Dimensity 6400 5G chipset, a 6.75-inch 120Hz display and a 6,000mAh battery. There is no single confirmed worldwide release date or price: retail availability and configurations depend on the country, so check the local TECNO listing before buying.
Launch and availability
TECNO announced the broader Spark 40 family for global markets in July 2025, and it publishes dedicated product and specification pages for the Spark 40 5G. Those confirm that the model is real, but a family announcement or product page is not proof of a country-specific retail launch. TECNO has not established one universal release date or price in the cited material; availability varies by market. The July 2025 announcement covered the series, while TECNO’s specification page identifies the 5G model.
If a retailer lists the phone in a country where TECNO has not confirmed local sales, treat it as a possible import rather than assuming it has local warranty or carrier certification. Check the exact model number, network bands, warranty region, return terms and included charger.

Price: no confirmed universal figure
TECNO’s cited global product pages do not provide one worldwide price. In Pakistan, one third-party listing gives these expected, unofficial prices: ₨42,999 for 4GB/128GB, ₨44,999 for 8GB/128GB and ₨46,999 for 8GB/256GB. The same source says the phone had not officially launched there at the time of its update, so these are estimates—not confirmed TECNO retail prices. Check the local TECNO store or an authorized retailer for current pricing and availability.

Do not use a price for the regular Spark 40 as the price of the Spark 40 5G. They are different phones, and marketplace listings may also be imported or use different memory configurations. See the Pakistan estimate and its market qualification.

Specifications and options can vary by market. TECNO’s “8GB” and “16GB” headline memory figures include extended RAM; they should not be read as confirmation that every version has that much physical RAM. Confirm the exact local configuration on the box or retailer listing. TECNO’s specification page lists the core hardware.
Performance and 5G
The Dimensity 6400 5G+ is the key distinction from the standard Spark 40’s 4G Helio G81 chipset. TECNO says the 5G model supports carrier aggregation and mixed FDD/TDD combinations, features intended to improve network coverage or throughput where the carrier and network support them. They do not guarantee a particular speed: results depend on local bands, signal, network congestion, carrier deployment and the exact regional handset variant.

Band support can differ by model and country. A regulatory document for model KM8n lists multiple 4G and 5G bands, but that list should not be assumed to apply to every regional SKU. Before buying an imported phone, ask your carrier or seller to confirm that its exact model supports the bands and services you need, including VoLTE where relevant.

Display: smooth, but not high-resolution
The large 6.75-inch screen and 120Hz refresh rate should make supported menus and scrolling look smoother than on a conventional 60Hz panel. The resolution, however, is 720 × 1600—HD-class, not Full HD. Text and fine detail will therefore look less sharp than on a comparable 1080p screen. A 120Hz panel also does not mean every app or game runs at 120 frames per second; refresh rate and game performance are separate limits.
Battery and charging
The 6,000mAh capacity is one of the Spark 40 5G’s strongest headline specifications and should appeal to buyers who prioritize long intervals between charges. Real endurance will depend on signal strength, screen settings, apps and usage. TECNO also claims the battery retains more than 80% capacity after more than 1,600 charge cycles under its stated test conditions; that is a manufacturer claim, not an independent endurance result.
Charging is rated at 18W, which is modest for a battery this large. Expect top-ups to be less rapid than on phones with 33W, 45W or faster charging. Whether a charger is included can depend on the market and package, so check the local listing rather than assuming one is in the box.
Cameras: 50MP rear, 5MP selfie
The confirmed setup is a 50MP rear main camera with dual flash and a 5MP front camera. Megapixels alone do not establish photo quality, and the listed specifications do not provide enough evidence to promise strong low-light results, stabilization, particular video modes or an ultrawide camera. If selfies or front-camera video matter to you, the 5MP front camera is a reason to compare alternatives and look for samples from the exact regional model.

Software, connectivity and extras
TECNO lists Android 15 and promotes TECNO AI features including Ask Ella, AI Writing and AI Search. Feature availability, supported languages and rollout can vary by country and software version. The cited product information does not establish a specific Android-version upgrade commitment or security-update period, so do not treat the Android 15 listing as a promise about future support.
The phone also lists NFC, an infrared remote control, DTS Sound and FreeLink. FreeLink is presented as a way to communicate without conventional cellular signal, but TECNO’s cited material does not establish a universal range or compatibility. Do not treat it as a replacement for nationwide cellular service: support may depend on nearby compatible devices, regional software and conditions. NFC availability should likewise be checked on the local variant if contactless payments are important.
Build and water resistance
The listed IP64 rating means dust protection and resistance to water splashes; it does not make the phone waterproof or suitable for submersion. The body measures 167.69 × 77.87 × 7.99mm, so despite the slim listed thickness, this is a large-screen handset. Color choices differ across regional pages and stores.
Spark 40 5G vs. regular Spark 40
The names are easy to confuse, but the regular Spark 40 is a separate 4G model. Its listed hardware differs in several important ways:

The standard Spark 40 may suit someone who wants faster charging and does not need 5G; the 5G version has the larger battery and newer 5G chipset. Check local prices and exact specifications before comparing. The regular Spark 40 listing describes the separate 4G model.
Should you consider the Spark 40 5G?
It is most compelling if your priorities are 5G, battery capacity, a large 120Hz screen and practical extras such as NFC or an IR remote. Its trade-offs are equally clear: an HD-class screen, 18W charging and a modest 5MP selfie camera. It is a less natural fit if you want Full HD or AMOLED, fast top-ups, demanding gaming performance, strong selfie hardware or a clearly stated long-term update policy.
Before paying, confirm that the seller is offering the Spark 40 5G, not the standard Spark 40; verify physical RAM and storage, local 5G-band compatibility, warranty coverage and the contents of the box. That matters especially for imported units and markets where TECNO has not confirmed local retail availability.
