Taylor Swift’s first appearance on New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce reportedly reached approximately 13 million YouTube views in its first 24 hours. It became the show’s most-viewed episode and also set a Guinness-recognized record for a podcast on YouTube: 1.3 million concurrent viewers.
Those are different measurements. The 13 million figure is a cumulative view total; the 1.3 million figure is the number of people watching at the same time. Swift’s episode was a major podcast-viewing event, but the 13 million total should not automatically be described as YouTube’s all-time 24-hour podcast-view record.
What happened on Taylor Swift’s New Heights episode?
Swift appeared on New Heights on August 13, 2025, joining hosts Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce. Coverage described it as her first podcast appearance and her first appearance on the Kelce brothers’ show.
The video edition ran for approximately one hour and 45 minutes. The audio version was roughly 20 minutes longer and included additional rapid-fire material, so the two versions were not identical. The episode was distributed as video on YouTube and as audio through podcast platforms.

The numbers: 13 million views versus 1.3 million viewers
The episode’s performance is easier to understand when each metric is kept separate:
| Metric | Reported result | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube views | Approximately 13 million in about 24 hours | Accumulated plays recorded during the reporting window |
| Peak concurrent viewers | Approximately 1.3 million | People watching at the same time |
| Earlier milestone | 10.4 million views after about 17 hours | A point-in-time total before the 24-hour figure |
| Another reported milestone | 8.9 million views after about 13 hours | An earlier point-in-time total |
| Social clips | More than 400 million views, according to the Associated Press | A cross-platform figure for clips and excerpts, not a unique audience count |
Views are cumulative. Concurrent viewers are simultaneous. Neither number tells us exactly how many unique people watched the episode: one person may watch the full YouTube video, replay sections and view clips on several social platforms.

Which records did the episode break?
It became New Heights’ most-viewed episode
Swift’s appearance surpassed the podcast’s previous YouTube high and became the most-viewed episode in New Heights’ history, according to contemporaneous entertainment coverage.
It set a Guinness concurrent-viewer record for a YouTube podcast
Guinness World Records recognized the episode for attracting approximately 1.3 million concurrent viewers. That is the record category that most clearly distinguishes the event from an ordinary high view count: more than a million people were watching the podcast at the same time.
The event occurred during the August 13 premiere, while Guinness’s recognition was reported afterward. Record categories and holders can change, so the claim should be understood as applying to the category and date of recognition.

It was not necessarily YouTube’s overall 24-hour podcast-view leader
The 13 million views should not be presented as the universal 24-hour record for every podcast video on YouTube. Coverage cited former President Donald Trump’s appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience as having a higher first-day total of roughly 26 million views.

That comparison does not diminish Swift’s result. It shows why the comparison must specify the metric: the Trump–Rogan episode had the higher reported 24-hour accumulation, while Swift’s New Heights appearance set the standout simultaneous-viewer record for a YouTube podcast.
What Taylor Swift discussed
The conversation covered both the album announcement and subjects connected to Swift’s career and relationship with Travis Kelce.
Rank #4
- The Life of a Showgirl: Swift discussed the album’s concept and details surrounding the new project, which she announced would arrive on October 3, 2025.
- Her master recordings: She discussed reclaiming ownership of her masters and the significance of controlling her recorded work.
- Life after the Eras Tour: The episode touched on what her life looked like after the tour.
- Kelce and football culture: Swift discussed her relationship with Travis Kelce, Chiefs fandom and her exposure to football.
- Lighter subjects: Reported topics included cats, Pop-Tarts, Happy Gilmore 2 and an anecdote about hiding in a cleaning cart during the Eras Tour.
The audio version also included a rapid-fire segment that was not part of the shorter video cut. Readers looking for the complete conversation may therefore notice differences between the YouTube and audio editions.
Why did the episode attract such a large audience?
The episode combined several audiences and news events that rarely converge in one podcast release:

- The Travis Kelce connection: Swift’s relationship with one of the hosts brought substantial interest from both pop-culture and NFL audiences.
- Jason Kelce’s audience: The episode reached existing New Heights listeners in addition to Swift’s fan base.
- A new album announcement: The interview was also the launch point for a major music-news story.
- Long-form video: YouTube allowed viewers to watch an extended conversation and participate in a premiere-style viewing event.
- Clip distribution: Short excerpts circulated across Instagram, TikTok, X and other platforms, expanding the story well beyond the original episode.
The Associated Press reported more than 400 million views for distributed clips across social platforms. That figure is useful for describing the episode’s circulation, but it is not directly comparable with the YouTube total and should not be converted into a claim about unique viewers.

Why the appearance mattered to podcasting
Swift’s appearance demonstrated how a video podcast can function simultaneously as an interview, a live viewing event and a promotional platform. New Heights did not rely only on its regular audience: the episode brought together Swifties, football fans, celebrity-news readers and podcast subscribers.
The release also showed the value of a coordinated distribution model. The full conversation appeared on YouTube, audio listeners could use podcast platforms, social accounts could distribute short clips, and premium subscribers could receive early or ad-free access. Each channel served a different purpose without representing a separate group of unique people.
For podcast publishers, the episode’s strongest lesson is not simply that celebrity guests produce large numbers. It is that an unusually scarce guest, a timely announcement, a built-in relationship story and a video-first premiere can reinforce one another.

The accurate takeaway
Taylor Swift’s August 13, 2025 appearance on New Heights reached approximately 13 million YouTube views in its first 24 hours and became the show’s most-viewed episode. Its clearest formal record was different: approximately 1.3 million people watched concurrently, earning Guinness recognition for the most concurrent viewers for a podcast on YouTube at the time.
The episode’s significance came from the combination of extraordinary cumulative views, record concurrency, Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl announcement, the Kelce connection and extensive social-clip distribution—not from one catch-all “podcast record.”
