Treat these as listing descriptions rather than independent checks of compatibility or behavior.
Edit and check the image before sharing
When a screenshot needs explanation, use the editing tools available in the chosen workflow. Supademo describes annotation, blur, styling, crop, and resize options; the Screenshot Tool listing describes arrows, text, and blur. Features may vary or change, so confirm them in the product you plan to use.
- Crop away irrelevant browser chrome, account details, or surrounding page content.
- Add an arrow or short label when the important element might not be obvious to the recipient.
- Blur email addresses, names, customer details, or other sensitive information before creating the share link.
- Open the final link as a recipient would, if possible, and verify that the image is legible and that the redaction is present in the shared version.
Blur is a practical precaution, not proof that every copy, preview, or embedded version has been erased. Do not rely on it as a substitute for checking what is actually stored and shared.
Check link access, storage, expiry, and tracking
There is no universal privacy or retention behavior for screenshot links. The products described here use different models: the Screenshot Link listing says uploads go to the user’s Google Drive; dropimg.io’s listing describes temporary links that expire after a few days; Supademo describes tracked links. These are product or store-listing claims, not a general guarantee about all screenshot tools.

- Storage: establish whether the file is stored by the service or in an account you control, such as Google Drive. Check the applicable permissions and terms.
- Who can view: determine whether anyone with the URL can open it, or whether recipients must sign in or be granted access.
- Expiry and deletion: check how long the link remains available and whether you can revoke it or delete the stored image.
- View tracking: find out whether the service records visits or provides analytics, and whether that behavior is enabled for your link.
- Confidentiality: if the screenshot contains sensitive or internal information, use a sharing method approved for that data rather than assuming a share URL is private.
Supademo says an account is not required to generate a screenshot link; it also describes tracking, analytics, and link management for a free account, and team collaboration, branding, advanced analytics, and unlimited storage on paid plans. These are vendor-stated features and can change. A Chrome Web Store listing for Screenshot Link, version 1.0, updated April 30, 2025, describes Google Drive upload and copying a share link. The dropimg.io listing shows version 1.7.0 and an update date of September 14, 2026, and describes temporary links expiring after a few days. Confirm current listing details and permissions before relying on either workflow.
Manual browser workflow or automated screenshot API?
A browser extension or web app is usually the convenient choice when a person is capturing a page and sharing it once. An API is more appropriate when a program needs to create screenshots repeatedly—for example, as part of a reporting or support workflow. API documentation for getscreenshot.dev’s search-result page describes screenshot and PDF endpoints with controls such as viewport dimensions, full-page capture, output format, quality, delay, selector, and dark mode. Because the available description is a search-result summary, check the provider’s current documentation for authentication, pricing, and storage terms before choosing it.
For an API workflow, decide in advance whether you need a viewport image or full page, what output format your downstream system accepts, and whether the capture should wait for a delay or a particular element. Also plan how the generated file will be stored and shared: an image response is not automatically a durable, permission-controlled public link.

The link opens a permission or sign-in page
The stored image may require account access, or the share permissions may not include the recipient. Review the file or link’s access settings and test it in a separate browser session. Avoid changing a sensitive file to public access unless that is appropriate for its contents.

The recipient sees an expired or missing image
The service may use temporary links, or the underlying file may have been removed or moved. Check the service’s stated retention behavior and regenerate the link if needed. Do not assume a URL is permanent simply because it was copied successfully.
The capture leaves out content
You may have captured only the visible viewport, or the page may not have finished loading before capture. Choose full-page capture when the entire page matters; for API capture, use an appropriate wait condition or delay if the provider supports it. Recheck any content that loads as the page is scrolled.
The screenshot contains a popup or consent panel
Close or handle it before taking a manual capture, then recapture and inspect the result. For automated work, choose a tool that documents how it handles consent panels and overlays; behavior differs by service.

An API request does not produce a usable link
A screenshot endpoint may return image bytes rather than a hosted URL. Check the provider’s response format and upload or store the image separately if your workflow requires a persistent share link. Verify authentication, supported parameters, and current storage and billing terms in the provider’s documentation.
