The best ScrapingBee alternative depends on what you need back and how you plan to operate: choose Firecrawl for model-ready Markdown or structured data, ZenRows or ScraperAPI for an API-shaped replacement, Bright Data or Oxylabs when proxy infrastructure and scale matter most, and Apify when reusable hosted scrapers and orchestration are useful. Compare them on representative URLs and the features you will actually use; advertised credits and monthly prices do not translate into equal numbers of usable pages.
How to choose a ScrapingBee alternative
Start with the work you need done after a page is fetched. If your application consumes Markdown or schema-shaped JSON, a product that returns those formats can save parsing and cleanup. If you need raw page content behind JavaScript rendering, proxy rotation, or geographic targeting, compare the actual API options and their metering rules. If you would rather run a prebuilt scraper than build and maintain extraction code, compare hosted automation products instead of looking only at request APIs.
- Output and parsing: decide whether you need HTML, Markdown, structured JSON, or a target-specific parser. Include downstream cleanup effort in the comparison.
- Target coverage: test the exact domains, page types, and structured endpoints your workflow uses.
- Browser behavior: identify whether pages require JavaScript rendering, navigation, clicks, forms, or persistent sessions.
- Access and geography: compare proxy types, rotation, challenge handling, and required locations. Separate proxy products may have separate costs.
- Metering: establish how features affect credits, what counts as a successful response, and whether failed loads are charged.
- Operations: check concurrency, asynchronous jobs, scheduling, storage, monitoring, and support against your delivery needs.
- Integration model: choose among a direct API, hosted scraper marketplace, managed extraction service, or infrastructure that requires more self-management.
There is no independent cross-vendor success-rate or speed test established here, so treat product positioning and plan terms as starting points, not proof that one service will work best for your domains.
ScrapingBee baseline: what you are replacing
ScrapingBee describes its API as handling headless browsers and proxy rotation. Its pricing page, accessed September 29, 2026, lists these monthly plans and concurrency limits; listed prices exclude VAT.
#1 Best Overall
| Plan | Monthly price | API credits | Concurrent requests |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hobby | $19 | 75,000 | 25 |
| Freelance | $49 | 250,000 | 50 |
| Startup | $99 | 1,000,000 | 100 |
| Business | $249 | 3,000,000 | 200 |
| Business+ | $599 | 8,000,000 | 400 |
ScrapingBee also lists 1,000 free API credits without a credit card. These are vendor plan terms, not a guarantee of 1,000 equally costly page captures: options and proxy tier can change credit consumption. Do not divide the monthly plan price by its headline credits and treat the result as a universal price per successful page.
Best alternatives by workload
Firecrawl: Markdown, structured output, and web-data workflows
Firecrawl is a strong candidate when the goal is clean Markdown or schema-defined JSON rather than raw HTML that your team must parse. Its comparison article positions the product around scrape, search, interact, crawl, map, and monitoring workflows for models, agents, and vector stores. Those are vendor descriptions, not independently verified performance findings.
The same vendor-authored comparison reports an illustrative Hacker News example: 34,873 characters of HTML in about 2.85 seconds from ScrapingBee, compared with 15,371 characters of Markdown in about 1.16 seconds from Firecrawl. That single example uses different output formats and does not establish a general speed or quality advantage. Firecrawl’s official pricing page, as accessed September 29, 2026, shows Standard at $83/month billed yearly for 100,000 credits, Growth at $333/month billed yearly for 500,000 credits, Scale at $599/month billed yearly for one million credits, and a custom Enterprise tier.
ZenRows: an API-shaped service with a shared balance
ZenRows is structurally close to a direct scraping API when you want fetch, extraction, batch work, and browser sessions on a shared credit balance. The comparison describes credit use as feature-dependent and says its model bills successful requests, counting 404 and 410 responses as successful. Check the vendor’s current definition of success for the endpoint and workload you plan to run.
Its official pricing page accessed September 29, 2026 lists Free at 5,000 credits/month, Build at $16/month for 45,000, Launch at $57/month for 250,000, and Growth at $165/month for 1.2 million. The page says plans include the full platform on one shared balance and charge for successful requests.
ScraperAPI: direct API plus structured endpoints
ScraperAPI is another direct API alternative. The comparison lists automatic proxy rotation, JavaScript rendering, CAPTCHA handling, structured Amazon, Google, and Walmart endpoints, and asynchronous and scheduled workflow options. Its official pricing page accessed September 29, 2026 lists a seven-day trial with 5,000 credits and no card. Paid terms shown at that time were:
| Plan | Monthly price | Credits | Concurrent threads |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hobby | $49 | 100,000 | 20 |
| Startup | $149 | 1,000,000 | 50 |
| Business | $299 | 3,000,000 | 100 |
| Scaling | $475 | 5,000,000 | 200 |
| Professional | $975 | 10,500,000 | 300 |
The entry tiers show US/EU geotargeting, with global geotargeting on higher tiers. ScraperAPI credits and ScrapingBee credits are not directly comparable request volumes: options and target sites can change how quickly either balance is used.
Bright Data: proxy infrastructure and product breadth
Bright Data is relevant when proxy operations and sustained scale are central. Its product family, as described in the comparison, includes Web Scraper API, Web Unlocker, Scraping Browser, SERP API, residential, datacenter, ISP, and mobile proxies, plus datasets. The breadth can be useful when a workload has varied access needs, but evaluate and price the relevant products individually rather than assuming an entry-level API plan includes the whole offering.
Rank #3
Apify: reusable Actors and hosted orchestration
Apify uses reusable programs called Actors that can be run, customized, or published, with marketplace discovery, scheduling, storage, and API support. A comparison reports more than 40,000 prebuilt Actors, including common target categories, and export/workflow integrations. That count is a comparison-source claim, not an independent audit. The comparison reports August 2026 pricing of Free with $5 monthly platform usage, Starter at $29/month, Scale at $199/month, and Business at $999/month, with compute-unit charges and Enterprise availability. These figures were not confirmed on an official Apify pricing page in the material available for this comparison; verify current plan and compute terms directly before budgeting.
Oxylabs: managed extraction and proxy-heavy use
Oxylabs’ official product page presents ready-to-use supported scraping sources and says requests can return HTML or structured JSON without requiring a scraper for each source. The comparison also describes domain parsers, natural-language parsing assistance, JavaScript rendering, geotargeting, synchronous and batch delivery, and separate proxy products. A $49/month API starting price appears in the comparison, but was not confirmed on the official page opened for this article; do not treat it as a definitive current quote.
Zyte: browser rendering and extraction
Zyte’s official API page describes browser rendering for JavaScript sites, automatic rotation across residential, datacenter, and mobile IPs, typed AI extraction, and persistent sessions. Its official pricing page advertises a $5 free-credit trial and notes that some advanced features may bring additional usage-based costs. The page reviewed did not establish one fixed comparable starting price, so use the vendor’s current calculator or a workload-specific quote rather than assuming a flat entry price.
Compare cost in usable results, not headline credits
Before switching, replay a representative sample of URLs with the exact options your production job needs. Include ordinary pages and the difficult cases that drive cost: JavaScript-heavy pages, required geographies, target-specific extraction, and any browser interactions. Record usable outputs, failures, latency, required retries, and downstream cleanup. The point is to learn how many acceptable results your workload gets for the money and engineering time—not to compare unlike credit balances as though each credit meant one page.

If the job is to capture a website as an image or PDF—not to extract datasets across many sites—ScreenshotNeo is a screenshot API alternative to try first: it returns PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF, removes consent banners and common popups before capture, and bills only clean shots. It is not a like-for-like replacement for a general-purpose web scraping or structured extraction platform.
One-call capture
Get an API key, then use the request below. The example saves a WebP shot of Stripe:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options. The API accepts a URL and can return a screenshot or PDF; its response headers include page-verdict and billing information.

Why it may fit better than a browser setup
- Cookie/consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets are removed before capture; each removal step can be turned off.
- Bot checks/CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing.
- An MCP server provides
take_screenshot,get_page_info, andcapture_pdftools for Claude, Cursor, or another MCP client. - The Free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month without a card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 screenshots.

Common evaluation mistakes
- Picking by credits per dollar: feature multipliers and success definitions differ. Estimate with the actual options and pages you need.
- Comparing unlike outputs: a Markdown result is not directly comparable to a raw HTML response by byte count or downstream effort.
- Assuming broader access from a feature label: JavaScript rendering or proxy rotation alone does not establish that every target and geography will work. Test the domains that matter.
- Budgeting from an unverified entry price: the Oxylabs starting-price figure and Apify plan figures above have explicitly limited confirmation. Verify terms with the vendor before purchase.
- Ignoring operating model: a direct API, proxy product, managed extraction product, and Actor marketplace can put different amounts of maintenance and control on your team.
