Yes—the November 2025 security update reached US Galaxy S25 phones, but Samsung released it by model and software edition rather than to every device at once. Samsung listed the carrier-model Galaxy S25 and S25 Ultra builds on November 21, with a November 1, 2025 security patch. The update is no longer the latest: Samsung’s update histories list later releases, so install the newest update offered to your phone.
Which US Galaxy S25 models received the November patch?
Samsung’s update records confirm these US releases. Dates and builds differ by model and edition; the release date is not a promise that every handset received the over-the-air notification that day.

Samsung describes the November release as improving device security. Its update record shows Android 16 for the cited S25 and S25 Ultra builds. This is a security-maintenance release on that software base, not the initial One UI 8 upgrade; the S25 series had already moved to One UI 8 before these November builds.

The public changelog does not establish specific camera, battery, modem, performance, or Galaxy AI improvements for these builds. Samsung notes that update details can vary by model, country, and network operator. See the Samsung S25 update history.
How to check and install an update
- Open Settings.
- Tap Software update, then Download and install.
- If an update is offered, review its version and security-patch information, then tap Install now or schedule installation. Button wording can vary slightly by One UI version or carrier software.
To identify your edition, go to Settings → About phone and check Model name or Model number. For the installed patch date, open Settings → About phone → Software information. Compare the model, build, and patch level—not just the month in a headline. For example, SM-S931U and SM-S931U1 are different software editions and need not receive the same build on the same date.

- Staged release: Availability can arrive in waves rather than on the date Samsung first lists a release.
- Edition or carrier: Carrier models and factory-unlocked models can have different builds and schedules; carrier-branded firmware may also depend on network-specific testing or approval.
- Already superseded: Your phone may have a later patch that includes newer security fixes. Do not try to install the November build separately if you are already up to date.
- Imported phone: A device bought outside the US may follow its original regional update channel even with a US SIM.
- Installation prerequisites or connectivity: Low battery, limited storage, an unreliable connection, or a temporary update-server issue may prevent a check or installation.
Samsung cautions that update details can differ by model, country, and network operator. Its model-specific update record is a useful reference, but the update offered by the phone is the relevant one for that device.
If your phone is stuck on an older patch
- Restart the phone and connect to reliable Wi-Fi.
- Charge it sufficiently and free storage if needed.
- Check again at Settings → Software update → Download and install.
- If the phone is carrier-branded and remains behind, contact the carrier. If the model or region appears inconsistent, contact Samsung support.
For ordinary owners, use the built-in update process rather than manually flashing firmware. Firmware for the wrong model or carrier configuration can cause problems; downgrades may be blocked, and a failed flash can require recovery or service. Manual installation may also complicate support or warranty discussions.
Is the November 2025 patch still current?
No. Samsung’s update histories show releases after November 2025, including later 2026 updates. Check the current patch date in Software information and install the newest compatible update offered to your phone. The November build details above are useful for identifying the historical rollout, not for determining what is current now.
