The U.S. Labor Day 2024 deal cut the unlocked, 256GB Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra from $1,299.99 to $1,099.99—a $200 saving before tax, with no trade-in required for the reported Samsung instant-savings offer. That promotion is over. It should not be mistaken for a live August 2026 price.

Samsung’s U.S. unlocked MSRP list puts the 256GB S24 Ultra at $1,299.99 and the 512GB version at $1,419.99 (Samsung MSRP price list). The $1,099.99 figure is the reported promotional price for the 256GB configuration—not a claim that every storage tier or listing cost the same.
Which retailer had the deal?
Coverage tied the Labor Day promotion to Samsung.com: PhoneArena reported $200 in instant savings on the 256GB model without a trade-in. Samsung’s own fall 2024 sale announcement said the sale included savings on the Galaxy S24 series and ran through September 15, but it does not independently confirm this exact configuration’s checkout price.
Other outlets documented similar prices at different times, not necessarily in the same Labor Day promotion. 9to5Toys reported Amazon pricing of $1,099.99 for 256GB and $1,219.99 for 512GB in July 2024. Android Headlines reported Best Buy discounts on both capacities in June. Those reports show that the price appeared at multiple retailers over time; they do not prove that all retailers offered identical terms simultaneously.

For any current listing, check the final cart price and make sure it is a new U.S. unlocked phone rather than open-box, renewed, or marketplace stock. Treat trade-in value, gift cards, cashback, financing, and carrier bill credits as separate from an instant device-price reduction. Sales tax and any accessories or protection plan are additional unless the checkout explicitly says otherwise.
What $1,099.99 bought
The S24 Ultra is a large-screen flagship with a 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz. The U.S. model uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy. Its rear cameras include a 200MP main camera, 50MP periscope telephoto, 10MP telephoto, and 12MP ultrawide, alongside a built-in S Pen and 5,000mAh battery. Samsung lists IP68 dust and water resistance and announced seven years of Android OS and security updates for the S24 series. That combination makes the phone especially compelling for someone who wants a stylus, a spacious display, versatile cameras, and long-term software support. It is also a substantial device: its size and squared-off frame can be less comfortable for one-handed use than smaller or rounder phones. Camera strengths are not a guarantee of superiority in every scene; buyers should compare current Pixel and iPhone models if image processing is their main priority.

It was a meaningful $200 reduction from the 256GB model’s $1,299.99 MSRP, but it was not necessarily the lowest price available during 2024. TechRadar documented a separate Amazon promotion at $1,049.99. That lower price means the Labor Day offer should not be called an all-time low without stronger price-history evidence.

At $1,099.99, the S24 Ultra made sense for a buyer who wanted its specific features and could buy a new, unlocked unit without a restrictive plan. The decision changes if a newer Galaxy Ultra is available at a similar out-of-pocket price, or if a carrier’s apparent discount depends on years of bill credits, a costly plan, or a qualifying trade-in. Compare the amount actually paid over the full term, not just the headline savings.
Who should consider an S24 Ultra deal?
- Consider it if you want the built-in S Pen, a large premium display, a flexible camera system, and an unlocked Android phone with a long support commitment.
- Compare newer models first if the latest processor, modem, camera processing, or maximum remaining software-support period matters more than saving on an older generation.
- Look elsewhere if you want a compact, light phone, prefer iOS and Apple’s ecosystem, or prioritize Google’s camera processing over stylus features.
- Consider certified refurbished only knowingly: it can cost less, but condition, warranty, and return protections may differ from a new factory-sealed phone.

The Labor Day promotion was in 2024; Labor Day that year fell on September 2. As of August 18, 2026, the supplied reporting does not establish an active S24 Ultra deal. Check the retailer’s live listing before buying, and verify capacity, U.S. model, unlocked status, seller, condition, return window, warranty, and the checkout price. Samsung’s official S24 Ultra page and retailer destinations such as Best Buy’s Samsung listings are places to check, not confirmation that any particular price is available. On Samsung.com, distinguish instant savings from trade-in credits, account discounts, financing, and storage promotions; on Amazon, check who sells and ships the unit.
