Samsung released a follow-up One UI 7 beta update for Galaxy S24-series phones in the United States in February 2025. Often described as One UI 7 Beta 5, it was effectively a smaller Beta 4 hotfix, identified by firmware S92xU1UEU4ZYBB.
The update primarily addressed Visual Voicemail crashes. It was available only to eligible beta participants, and carrier-branded, unlocked, and T-Mobile devices did not necessarily receive it at the same time. This historical beta update has since been superseded by stable One UI 7 and later Galaxy software releases.
What Samsung’s One UI 7 Beta 4 hotfix included
The naming caused some confusion. Contemporary coverage called the update the fifth One UI 7 beta, while Samsung’s U.S. beta discussions referred to it as a Beta 4 hotfix. These descriptions refer to the same follow-up update, not two separate major beta releases.
Firmware was reported as S92xU1UEU4ZYBB, where the x represents the particular Galaxy S24-series model. The download was approximately 450 MB, although the actual size varied by device.

This was not a normal stable One UI 7 update and did not introduce a substantial new feature set. Its purpose was corrective: improve stability after Beta 4, with Visual Voicemail crashes being the main confirmed issue.
SamMobile’s report identified the firmware, approximate download size, affected models, and Visual Voicemail fix.
What problems did it fix?
Visual Voicemail crashes
The clearest confirmed benefit was a fix for a Visual Voicemail crash problem affecting some beta users. Because Visual Voicemail also depends on carrier support and provisioning, the exact behavior could differ between networks.

Refresh-rate and animation problems
Beta 4 users also reported intermittent display refresh-rate drops, lock-screen lag, sluggish animations, and generally slower performance. Samsung’s U.S. beta team said it hoped the hotfix would address the refresh-rate problem on unlocked models.

That wording does not guarantee that every performance problem was fixed on every phone. The Visual Voicemail correction is the strongest confirmed fix; performance improvements should be treated as reported or expected rather than universal.
Users continued discussing refresh-rate problems in the Samsung Community beta forum.
Which Galaxy S24 models were eligible?
- Galaxy S24
- Galaxy S24+
- Galaxy S24 Ultra
Eligibility required the phone to be running Samsung’s One UI 7 beta software. A Galaxy S24 still running stable One UI 6.1 was not intended to receive this beta hotfix through the ordinary update channel.

- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
In other words, the release should not be understood as an update that arrived simultaneously on every U.S. Galaxy S24.

How to install the update
- Open Settings.
- Tap Software update.
- Choose Download and install.
- Review the available package and begin the download if it appears.
- Use Wi-Fi if possible and keep the phone sufficiently charged or connected to a charger.
- Allow the phone to restart and complete the installation.
Back up important data before installing beta software. The official over-the-air update is the safest and most appropriate installation method for eligible users.

Not seeing the update immediately did not necessarily indicate a problem. Samsung distributed it in stages across carrier and unlocked configurations.

Check the following:
- Confirm that the phone is enrolled in the One UI beta program through Samsung Members.
- Verify that the device is a U.S. model or uses a supported U.S. carrier configuration.
- Check whether the phone is carrier-branded or unlocked.
- Restart the phone, then revisit Settings → Software update → Download and install.
- Allow additional time for the carrier-specific rollout.
Do not assume that installing Beta 4 guaranteed immediate access to the hotfix. Imported phones may use different regional firmware and may not qualify for the U.S. package.
Manual flashing with Odin or sideloading was not the standard solution. Using the wrong firmware could cause compatibility, boot, data-loss, or warranty problems, so users should avoid unofficial update files unless they fully understand the risks.

After reproducing the issue, report it through Samsung Members so the beta team can review the relevant diagnostics:
- Open Samsung Members.
- Go to One UI Beta Program.
- Tap Beta Feedback.
- Describe the problem and attach screenshots or a screen recording when useful.
- Ensure Send system log data is selected.
- Submit the report soon after reproducing the fault.
Also restart the phone, check for updates to Visual Voicemail and carrier-related apps in the Galaxy Store or Google Play Store, and note whether the fault occurs only on mobile data, Wi-Fi calling, or a particular network. Avoid factory-resetting immediately; capture logs and verify the installed build first.

For a carrier-specific Visual Voicemail problem, the carrier’s support channel may also be necessary because voicemail provisioning varies by network.
How this relates to stable One UI 7
The hotfix was part of the beta program, not the final public release. Samsung announced that stable One UI 7 would begin rolling out in the United States for the Galaxy S24 series on April 10, 2025, subject to carrier variation.
Samsung’s official rollout announcement provides that stable-release context. Samsung’s current One UI support page also places the S24 series in the later software-support timeline.

If a current Galaxy S24 has voicemail or performance problems, use the current software update offered for that device and contact Samsung or the carrier rather than attempting to install the 2025 beta build.
Should beta users have installed it?
Installing made the most sense for enrolled beta testers experiencing Visual Voicemail crashes or the performance symptoms reported after Beta 4. It was an official OTA package and could improve stability while moving the phone toward the stable One UI 7 release.
Users without those problems could reasonably wait, particularly because beta software can introduce additional bugs and the update was not a feature-rich release. Anyone wanting to leave beta software should follow Samsung’s current beta-program guidance instead of manually downgrading or flashing firmware.
