The Samsung Galaxy M35 5G is worth considering in India if you want a vibrant 120Hz AMOLED screen, long battery life and years of software support at a discount. At about ₹13,719 for the 6GB/128GB version in a price snapshot dated August 18, 2026, it is strong value for those priorities. Near ₹20,000, its 222g weight, modest 25W charging and middling secondary cameras make the choice harder. Buy it for endurance and Samsung software—not for a slim body, fast charging or gaming-first performance.
Bottom line up front: The Galaxy M35’s strongest combination is its 6,000mAh battery and 6.6-inch 120Hz Super AMOLED display, backed by Samsung’s promise of four major Android upgrades and five years of security updates. Its trade-offs are tangible in everyday use: the phone is thick and heavy, takes a while to charge, and its ultrawide and macro cameras do not match the main camera. Its value depends heavily on the price you actually find.
The latest available India price snapshot found for this review, dated August 18, 2026, puts the 6GB/128GB version at about ₹13,719 and the 8GB/256GB model as high as about ₹19,990. The M35 is primarily an India-market phone, not a model to assume is routinely sold through U.S. retail channels.

Specifications and dimensions are listed by SamMobile. A claimed brightness maximum is not the same as a sustained outdoor measurement, and actual network compatibility depends on the regional model and carrier.

Design: functional, but the weight is hard to ignore
At 222g and 9.1mm thick, the M35 is not an easy phone to overlook in your hand or pocket. Its plastic rear has a textured, checkered finish, and its large screen is bordered by noticeably broad bezels. The design is practical rather than premium or especially compact. A protective case adds further bulk, so people with small hands, who often use a phone one-handed, or who carry it in tight pockets should try it in person if possible.
The selfie camera sits in a punch-hole cutout. A side-mounted fingerprint reader is built into the power button. Samsung offers Thunder Grey, DayBreak Blue and Moonlight Blue. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack, so wired headphones need USB-C headphones or an adapter. These details and dimensions are documented in the M35’s specification listing.
Display and speakers: the clearest reasons to buy it
The 6.6-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED panel is one of the M35’s best features. Its high contrast and vivid color suit video and everyday browsing, while 120Hz makes scrolling and supported animations feel smoother than a standard 60Hz screen. Gorilla Glass Victus+ protects the display, and stereo speakers provide sound from both sides of the phone rather than a single bottom-firing speaker.

Samsung advertises up to 1,000 nits of brightness. Treat that as a manufacturer claim, not a promise of that brightness continuously in every outdoor situation; brightness depends on conditions and the content on screen. For the price, the combination of AMOLED contrast, Full HD+ resolution and high refresh rate is a substantial strength. SamMobile’s review also identifies the display as a highlight.
Performance: smooth for everyday use, not a gaming-phone pitch
The Exynos 1380 pairs four Cortex-A78 cores running at up to 2.4GHz with four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores at up to 2.0GHz. It is supported by a Mali-G68 MP5 GPU, 6GB or 8GB of RAM, and a vapor-cooling chamber. For social media, navigation, streaming and ordinary multitasking, the phone is generally smooth. Casual and moderate gaming is reasonable, but demanding games can show occasional stutters or require lower settings.

The cooling system can help manage heat and delay performance throttling during longer sessions, but it does not turn the M35 into a dedicated gaming device. Reviews differ in how strongly they rate its performance; the useful distinction is that routine use is comfortable, while sustained high-end gaming is not its standout case. If competitive play, high graphics settings or the fastest performance for the money matter most, compare performance-focused options such as the iQOO Z9 series or Poco X6 at current prices rather than choosing on the processor name alone. Cameras: a capable main lens, with weaker supporting cameras
The rear camera array has a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro camera. The main camera is the one to rely on: in daylight it can capture useful detail and generally adequate dynamic range, and OIS helps steady shots. In low light, results are acceptable to good when Night mode is used, rather than a guarantee of flagship-level night photos.
The ultrawide is useful when you need a broader view in daylight, but it loses ground in dim conditions; Night mode can help. The 2MP macro is best treated as a minor extra, not a meaningful reason to buy a phone with three rear cameras. The 13MP selfie camera is fine in good light but can look noisy and less detailed at night. Video recording reaches 4K at 30fps, but that resolution alone does not imply flagship stabilization or cinematic quality.
Samsung also includes modes such as Pro photo and video, Night, Single Take, slow motion, super slow motion and hyperlapse. The practical camera assessment—especially the limitations of the macro and front cameras—matches SamMobile’s review findings. Think of it as a phone with a useful main camera, not an equally strong or versatile three-lens system.
Battery and charging: endurance first, convenience second
A 6,000mAh battery is generous, and the M35 can last substantially longer than many slimmer phones. Samsung claims up to two days of use. That should not be read as a guaranteed result: a reviewer reported reaching early afternoon on a second day under their usage pattern, but did not fully match Samsung’s claim. Heavy gaming, 5G use, high brightness, a 120Hz setting and weak cellular reception can all shorten runtime. SamMobile’s review describes the endurance and its limits.

Charging is the compromise. The phone supports wired charging up to 25W, which is modest beside rivals that refill faster. There is no charger in the box, so check what the specific retailer bundle includes and whether you already own a compatible charger before adding one to your budget. The M35 makes more sense if you prefer charging less often over getting back to full quickly.

Software and updates: a real long-term advantage, with regional caveats
The M35 launched with Android 14 and One UI 6.1. Samsung promises four major Android version upgrades and five years of security updates, a useful commitment for buyers planning to keep a mid-range phone for years. That promise does not mean every feature available on a flagship Galaxy will arrive here; the M35 does not offer the full Galaxy AI feature set associated with Samsung flagships.
There is evidence of Android 16 firmware for model SM-M356B: Samsung’s firmware page includes Android 16 / One UI 8.0 entries from late 2025 and early 2026, including a March 12, 2026 release entry with a February 5, 2026 security patch. This is specific to that model and release channel, not proof that every regional or carrier version received the same update on the same date. Check your exact model and local rollout status on Samsung’s SM-M356B firmware page.

The M35 supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, USB-C and dual-SIM use. NFC is useful for compatible contactless services, while stereo speakers and the side-mounted fingerprint scanner cover everyday conveniences. Network bands and services such as Samsung Pay can vary by regional variant, carrier and market, so imported units deserve extra checking.
There is also microSD expansion, but the card shares its slot with the second SIM. You cannot use two SIM cards and a microSD card at the same time on this configuration. If you need dual SIM, choose internal storage with that limitation in mind; if you only need one SIM, expansion may be useful. The M35’s listing confirms the shared-slot arrangement and its lack of a headphone jack: SamMobile specifications.

Galaxy M35 price and value in India
The available price report dated August 18, 2026 lists India pricing from approximately ₹13,719 for 6GB/128GB to about ₹19,990 for 8GB/256GB, with availability varying and some listings out of stock. These are a dated snapshot, not a permanent offer or a guarantee that every configuration is available at those prices. The M35 launched in India on May 24, 2024, so compare the current street price, condition, warranty and seller before treating an old-stock listing as a bargain.
- At or below ₹15,000: Strong value if your priorities are battery life, AMOLED quality, NFC and Samsung’s software support.
- Around ₹18,000–₹20,000: Be more selective. At this level, rivals may make more sense for faster charging, gaming performance or a lighter design. Pay the premium only if the M35’s Samsung software, battery and features are specifically what you want.
- At launch-like or near-₹20,000 pricing: It is difficult to recommend as a default choice; its age and hardware compromises matter more when discounts are small.
For configurations, 6GB/128GB is the most defensible bargain choice if you do not need much local storage. The 8GB options may be more comfortable for heavier multitasking; the 8GB/256GB model is worth considering if you need storage and the price premium is modest. A microSD card can cost less, but it rules out the second SIM in the shared tray. Compare the actual price difference rather than assuming the largest configuration is automatically better value.
Which alternatives should you consider?
Use these as starting points, not a blanket ranking: prices and available configurations change, and there is no single same-day controlled comparison across all of them.
- Want a more polished Samsung option? Compare the Galaxy A35. It is the more design- and A-series-oriented choice; the M35 is better aligned with buyers prioritizing battery and value.
- Want a lighter, more distinctive design? Look at the CMF Phone 1 or Motorola Moto G85. Check whether their camera, NFC, storage and update policies suit your needs before switching.
- Want stronger gaming or faster charging? Compare the iQOO Z9/Z9s family, Poco X6 or similar performance-oriented models at current prices. The M35’s case is stronger for its software-support promise and Samsung ecosystem.
- Want to prioritize camera and charging value? Check the Realme Narzo 70 Pro and current Redmi Note or realme alternatives where available. Compare the particular model’s cameras and update commitment rather than relying on the series name.

Buy it if you can find it at a substantial discount and prioritize a vibrant display, long battery life, One UI, NFC, expandable storage or Samsung’s update promise. It is a sensible everyday phone for streaming, navigation, social media, multitasking and moderate gaming.
Skip it or compare alternatives first if you want a light one-handed phone, fast charging, demanding gaming at high settings, a useful macro camera, a strong low-light ultrawide, a headphone jack, or two SIMs plus microSD. At close to ₹20,000, the M35 needs to fit your specific priorities to justify its bulk and charging speed.
