Quick verdict: The Samsung Galaxy M02 supports Bluetooth 5.0, stereo Bluetooth audio through A2DP, and Bluetooth Low Energy. Samsung’s public documentation does not provide a complete list of audio codecs, so aptX, AAC, LDAC and similar formats should not be assumed. The phone has no built-in Qi wireless charging and no verified IR blaster. Because Samsung’s support pages cover international variants, US buyers should verify the exact model number, cellular bands, VoLTE support, warranty and return policy before purchasing.
What “Bluetooth codes” means
“Bluetooth codes” usually means Bluetooth codecs. Three separate specifications are involved:
- Bluetooth version: Public Galaxy M02 specification listings identify Bluetooth 5.0.
- Profiles: A2DP handles stereo audio, while Bluetooth LE supports low-energy accessories and functions.
- Codecs: These compress audio between the phone and headset. SBC, AAC, aptX and LDAC are examples. Bluetooth 5.0 does not automatically imply support for any particular codec.
The available Samsung support material does not publish a complete M02 codec table. Therefore, treat Bluetooth 5.0, A2DP and LE as the confirmed capabilities, but do not promise aptX, aptX HD, LDAC, Samsung Scalable Codec, LC3 or even a specific SBC/AAC implementation without checking the individual phone and accessory. What Bluetooth devices work with the Galaxy M02?
For ordinary Bluetooth use, the M02 can pair with:
- Wireless earbuds, headphones and portable speakers
- Car stereos and hands-free systems
- Keyboards, mice and game controllers
- Smartwatches and other Android-compatible accessories
A2DP indicates stereo Bluetooth audio capability; LE is useful for low-energy devices. Actual behavior depends on the Android build, regional firmware and the accessory. A headset using a codec unavailable on the phone should normally fall back to a mutually supported mode, but quality and latency can vary.

How to pair headphones or a speaker
- Open Settings.
- Tap Connections, then Bluetooth.
- Turn Bluetooth on.
- Put the accessory into pairing mode.
- Tap its name under available devices and approve the PIN or pairing request.
- Play audio and confirm the Bluetooth device is selected as the output.
Menu wording can differ between Android versions and regional M02 firmware; Samsung provides different manuals for variants such as SM-M022G and SM-M022F.
Common Bluetooth problems
- Device does not appear: Recharge it, re-enter pairing mode, move it close to the phone and disconnect it from another device.
- Paired but silent: Raise media volume, open the paired device’s settings and enable Media audio, then select it as the playback output.
- Dropouts: Reduce distance and obstructions, temporarily disconnect other Bluetooth devices and update both devices.
- Corrupt pairing: Tap the accessory in Bluetooth settings, choose Unpair, then pair again. For a car, delete the phone from both the car and phone before retrying.
- Codec options missing: Android Developer Options only expose choices allowed by the installed software and connected accessory. They are not proof that every listed codec is certified for the M02.
A factory reset should be a last resort after backing up your data, not the first Bluetooth fix.

Which Bluetooth codecs are confirmed?
No complete named-codec list is verified. The defensible specification is Bluetooth 5.0 with A2DP and LE. To inspect what your own handset exposes, pair the headset, enable Android’s Developer Options, and open the Bluetooth audio codec setting. The available choices can change when the headset is connected and may reflect firmware limitations, so use this as a practical check rather than a universal certification.

Do not copy codec claims from another Samsung model. For example, Samsung documents that mention aptX or IR Remote for the Galaxy S6 edge+ describe a different phone and are not evidence for the M02 (different-model specification PDF).

Does the Galaxy M02 support wireless charging?
No—not natively. The Galaxy M02 lacks a built-in Qi receiver, so placing it on a Qi pad will not charge it. The published M02 specification listing identifies wireless charging as absent.
A separate Micro-USB Qi receiver can theoretically add wireless-power reception. That is an external workaround, not a phone feature. Before buying one, confirm:

- Charging speed and alignment are acceptable.
- The receiver will occupy the charging port and may need removal for wired charging or data transfer.
These adapters are generally slower and less convenient than a wired charger. They do not add wireless power sharing or reverse charging. For regular use, a reputable Micro-USB cable and charger are the reliable option.

No verified built-in infrared transmitter is listed for the Galaxy M02. A normal TV-remote app cannot create missing IR hardware. The camera flash, proximity sensor and headphone jack are not substitutes for an infrared emitter.

Wi-Fi remote apps can control compatible smart TVs or streaming devices on the same network, but that is network control—not infrared. Other options include a dedicated universal IR remote, a Bluetooth remote, or an external Micro-USB IR accessory whose Android app explicitly supports the handset. Confirm compatibility before buying.
Is the Galaxy M02 a US phone?
Samsung’s located support and update pages identify international model codes including SM-M022G, SM-M022F and SM-M022M, with regional suffixes and firmware. Those pages do not establish a US-specific Galaxy M02 release. That does not prove an importer never sold one in the US; it means “Galaxy M02” alone is insufficient for a compatibility decision.

- Whether the seller identifies the phone as new, used, refurbished or imported
Samsung’s regional references include the SM-M022G update page and SM-M022M update page. A low price is not a bargain if the handset cannot register on your network.

The Galaxy M02 is acceptable as a low-cost phone for ordinary Bluetooth headphones, speakers and accessories. Its documented Bluetooth 5.0/A2DP/LE support does not verify premium codecs. It has no native Qi charging and no verified IR blaster, and imported US units require careful carrier and warranty checks.
