The Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro is no longer a leak. Samsung announced the laptop on January 6, 2025, and said availability in selected markets, including the U.S., would begin in February 2025. It is now a previous-generation model alongside Samsung’s newer Galaxy Book6 range. Here are the confirmed specs, how the Pro differs from the Pro 360, and what to check before buying one in 2026.
What the Galaxy Book5 Pro leak got right
Pre-launch reports pointed to Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors, OLED touchscreens and an AI-PC focus. Samsung confirmed those details at CES 2025. The conventional Galaxy Book5 Pro comes in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes; the separate Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 is a 16-inch convertible. The less expensive Galaxy Book5 360 is another distinct model, not simply a different name for the Pro 360.
Samsung’s January 6, 2025 announcement is the primary source for the original specifications and launch timing. Samsung said availability would start in February 2025 in selected markets; configurations and timing could vary by market and channel.
Confirmed Galaxy Book5 Pro specifications
Both standard Pro sizes use a 16:10 Dynamic AMOLED 2X touchscreen with 2880 × 1800 resolution and an adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz. Samsung lists 400 nits typical brightness and up to 500 nits for HDR content, so 500 nits should not be read as sustained SDR brightness.

Processor suffixes matter: Samsung’s later U.S. MSRP list includes Core Ultra 7 256V and 258V configurations, which differ in configuration and price. Check the exact model number, RAM and SSD rather than relying on a generic “Core Ultra 7” listing. Samsung also notes that specifications can vary by model, sales channel and market.
The Intel Arc graphics are integrated, not a discrete gaming GPU. The Book5 Pro suits everyday productivity, coding, browsing, media and moderate creative tasks; it is not the right choice if your priority is demanding 3D gaming or GPU rendering. Confirm the memory configuration at purchase if you need more capacity later: these systems are configuration-dependent, and upgradeability should not be assumed.

Samsung’s Book5 Pro product page positions the standard model as the portable high-end laptop and the Pro 360 as the 2-in-1 option. Choose the 360 if pen input or tablet mode is something you will actually use. If you mainly type and want a conventional laptop, its extra hinge flexibility may not justify the weight and price.

Samsung describes the Book5 Pro as an AI PC based on Intel Core Ultra Series 2 chips, with an NPU rated at up to 47 TOPS in supported configurations. The company highlights AI Select, Photo Remaster in Samsung Gallery, Live Captions with real-time translation, Cocreator in Paint and a dedicated Copilot key. The exact availability of Windows and Copilot features depends on software, region and Microsoft support.

Do not assume every Galaxy AI or continuity feature works on the laptop alone. Some phone-to-PC functions depend on a compatible Galaxy phone or tablet, supported One UI software, Samsung apps or Phone Link. If you do not use Samsung Galaxy devices, weigh the laptop’s display, size, ports and price independently of ecosystem features.
Battery claims and what they mean
Samsung claims up to 21 hours of video runtime for the 14-inch model and up to 25 hours for the 16-inch model. It also claims the 14-inch can charge up to 41% and the 16-inch up to 35% in about 30 minutes. These are manufacturer figures under stated test conditions, not guaranteed mixed-use results; brightness, refresh rate, wireless activity, apps and power mode all affect runtime.

Independent testing of the different Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 by TechRadar recorded 20 hours and 3 minutes in its movie battery test. That result is specific to the Pro 360 and that test method; it should not be treated as a measured result for the standard Book5 Pro.
U.S. pricing: MSRP is not a sale quote
Samsung’s June 2026 U.S. business MSRP document lists these standard Book5 Pro configurations. MSRP is a reference price, subject to change; it is not a promise of current retail availability or a sale price.

The same Samsung June 2026 MSRP document lists a 16-inch Pro 360 at $1,799.99 with Core Ultra 7 256V, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD, and $2,449.99 with Core Ultra 7 258V, 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD. These U.S. figures should not be applied to other countries, and actual shop prices may be very different.
Is the Galaxy Book5 Pro worth buying in 2026?
The Book5 Pro remains worth considering if a discounted configuration gives you the screen, portability and memory/storage you need for materially less than a comparable newer laptop. Its OLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, broad port selection and efficient Lunar Lake-era platform remain attractive for productivity and media use. But do not pay a premium simply because an old search result calls it a leak or makes it sound newly launched.
Samsung’s June 2026 MSRP document also lists the 14-inch Galaxy Book6 Pro at $1,699.99 for Core Ultra 5/16GB/256GB and $2,249.99 for Core Ultra 7/32GB/512GB. Those configurations are not like-for-like with every Book5 Pro, but they show why a price comparison matters: a Book5 Pro 14-inch Core Ultra 7/16GB/512GB at listed MSRP is only slightly below the listed Book6 Pro Core Ultra 5 model. If actual prices are close, favor the newer generation if you want current-model status and a longer practical ownership runway. If a Book5 Pro is substantially cheaper and its configuration suits your workload, it can be the better value.
- Pick the 14-inch Pro for portability; it weighs 2.71 lb and retains the high-resolution AMOLED display.
- Pick the 16-inch Pro if you want more screen space, a numeric keypad and a larger battery, and accept the added size and weight.
- Pick the Pro 360 only if pen input or tablet mode is central to your use.
- Look elsewhere for a discrete GPU, an explicitly upgradeable-memory design, or if glossy OLED displays and their reflections are a poor fit for your workspace. If you are sensitive to screen flicker, try the display in person where possible.
Before paying, compare exact processor suffix, RAM, SSD, display size, warranty and return policy, then compare the final checkout price with the equivalent Book6 configuration. Samsung’s product page can remain available even when a newer generation exists, so a live page alone does not make the Book5 Pro the current model.
