Samsung’s French support website listed the Galaxy A56 5G and Galaxy A36 5G in January 2025, making an approaching launch a reasonable conclusion—but not proving an exact release date, price, final specifications, or worldwide availability. Samsung later unveiled both phones, along with the Galaxy A26 5G, on March 2, 2025, and announced worldwide availability beginning March 28.
What Samsung’s support pages revealed
The early listings appeared on Samsung France and identified two unreleased phones by model numbers: SM-A566B/DS for the Galaxy A56 5G and SM-A366B/DS for the Galaxy A36 5G. The discovery was reported on January 7, 2025.
That was meaningful because the model numbers appeared on Samsung’s own regional infrastructure rather than on an unaffiliated retailer or rumor site. A support listing generally indicates that a manufacturer is preparing documentation, firmware support, repair systems, or other regional product infrastructure.

The original report therefore provided a legitimate pre-launch signal, but its “could be imminent” wording should be understood in the context of January 2025—not as a current prediction.
What the listings did—and did not—confirm

This distinction matters. Support infrastructure is stronger evidence than an anonymous rumor, but weaker evidence than a Samsung product announcement. Manufacturers can prepare regional pages and internal systems before final launch plans, carrier arrangements, or market-specific configurations are public.
Galaxy A56 and A36 rumors reported at the time
January coverage connected the support-page discovery with earlier leaks, benchmark listings, and renders. Those reports helped shape expectations, but they were not confirmed by the support pages themselves.

Claims such as an Exynos 1580 chip, 45W charging, particular benchmark scores, or a specific Snapdragon processor should therefore be described as reported or rumored unless supported by Samsung’s final documentation. A support page did not confirm them.
Samsung eventually confirmed the launch
The uncertainty ended on March 2, 2025, when Samsung officially introduced the Galaxy A56 5G, Galaxy A36 5G, and Galaxy A26 5G. Samsung positioned the lineup around its Awesome Intelligence branding, along with durability, longer software support, security, and privacy features.
Samsung also highlighted Knox Vault. Its global announcement said the three phones had 5,000mAh batteries and could receive up to six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. Those are Samsung’s broad global-announcement claims; specific regional editions and policies should still be checked before treating them as identical contractual guarantees in every market.

Samsung’s French newsroom said the phones would be marketed in France during March. On March 28, Samsung announced worldwide availability through Samsung.com, carriers, and retailers, while noting that timing and availability could vary by country, region, and operator.

- January 2025: The listings suggested that launch preparations were underway, but did not establish a date, price, or global rollout.

- March 2025: Samsung France said the phones would be available in France during the month.
- March 28, 2025: Samsung announced worldwide availability, subject to local and carrier differences.

In January 2025, the support-page discovery was a sensible reason to delay buying a Galaxy A55 or A35 if a reader was comfortable waiting for official details. It was not, however, enough to justify assuming that a specific model, price, or carrier version would arrive in every country.

That regional caution remains important. The French model codes used the B/DS format, which generally points toward European or international variants. They did not prove that the same SKU would work on every US carrier. Buyers should check the exact model number, supported bands, SIM configuration, warranty region, storage option, and local availability.
The Galaxy A56 is the more appropriate target for buyers seeking greater performance headroom and a higher-end A-series experience. The A36 is aimed at shoppers who want a large-screen Samsung 5G phone at a lower price. Samsung’s US newsroom gave the A36 a launch-price signal of $399.99, but that was a March 2025 launch figure—not a verified current price.

Verdict
The January support-page discovery was real and useful: it showed that Samsung had created regional infrastructure for the Galaxy A56 5G and Galaxy A36 5G, making an approaching launch plausible. It did not prove an imminent worldwide release or reveal the final specifications.
Samsung ultimately confirmed the phones on March 2, 2025, followed by worldwide availability beginning March 28. The story was therefore an accurate early launch clue—but it should now be read as a retrospective, not as a live rumor.
