In Brazil, the Galaxy S24 and S24+ use Samsung’s Exynos 2400 for Galaxy; the Galaxy S24 Ultra uses Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy. The Exynos is a genuine flagship processor, not a budget chip, but independent tests found the Snapdragon ahead in many CPU and conventional graphics benchmarks. The trade-off is not one-sided: in one controlled comparison, the Exynos S24 lasted longer in several battery tests. For Brazilian buyers, the S24 can still make sense at a substantial discount, particularly with local warranty—but the chip, exact model and price all matter.
Which Galaxy S24 models sold in Brazil use Exynos?
The processor depends on the model, not just the Galaxy S24 name. In Samsung’s Brazilian lineup, the regular S24 and S24+ are Exynos models, while the Ultra is Snapdragon-based. The S24 FE is a separate phone with a related but different processor.
| Model | Processor | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S24 | Exynos 2400 for Galaxy | Brazilian base model |
| Galaxy S24+ | Exynos 2400 for Galaxy | Brazilian Plus model |
| Galaxy S24 Ultra | Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy | Not an Exynos phone |
| Galaxy S24 FE | Exynos 2400e | A distinct chip and device, not the full Exynos 2400 |
Samsung’s Brazilian S24 launch announcement lists the S24 and S24+ configurations. The S24 FE announcement identifies its Exynos 2400e. Do not use S24 Ultra results to describe the base S24: the Ultra differs in processor as well as size, cameras, battery and other hardware.

What is the Exynos 2400?
The Exynos 2400 is Samsung’s flagship mobile application processor for the 2024 S24 and S24+ variants that use it. Samsung specifies a 4nm manufacturing process, a deca-core CPU design that includes an Arm Cortex-X4 performance core, and an Xclipse 940 GPU based on AMD RDNA 3 graphics architecture. The GPU supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing. The chip also includes on-device AI capabilities.

Samsung’s specification page lists support for cameras up to 320MP and a peak 5G downlink of up to 12.12Gbps under stated conditions. These are processor-level capabilities, not descriptions of the S24’s actual camera resolution or the speed a Brazilian customer will see on a carrier network. The S24 has a 50MP main camera, and real 5G performance depends on the phone’s implementation, available bands, carrier, signal and network conditions.
Likewise, a chip’s maximum display and graphics capabilities do not automatically define a phone’s behavior. The handset’s cooling, firmware, memory, battery and software optimization all influence actual results. See Samsung Semiconductor’s Exynos 2400 specifications for the processor-level claims.
Exynos 2400 vs. Snapdragon 8 Gen 3: what tests show
Core counts alone do not determine speed. The X4 core handles demanding foreground work, while other performance and efficiency cores share multitasking and background loads. Everyday responsiveness also depends on thermals, storage and how an app uses the hardware.

In tests of the regular Galaxy S24, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 generally led in CPU benchmarks and conventional GPU throughput. The gap depends on the benchmark and test setup, and it is not a guarantee of a perceptible difference in every app.
| Area | Reported comparison | Practical interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | Android Authority reported about a 7% Snapdragon lead in Geekbench 6 and about 5% in PCMark. Tom’s Guide recorded 2,235 vs. 2,147 in single-core and 6,922 vs. 6,738 in multi-core Geekbench results. | Snapdragon led in those test runs; ordinary tasks may not feel proportionally faster. |
| Conventional GPU tests | Android Authority reported Snapdragon ahead by about 25% in 3DMark Wild Life and 18% in Wild Life Extreme. | Relevant to peak graphics throughput and benchmark-focused comparisons. |
| Ray tracing | The phones were approximately even in the cited Solar Bay ray-tracing comparison. | The Exynos GPU’s ray-tracing support is meaningful, but one benchmark does not predict every game. |
| Stress and temperature | In Android Authority’s reported stress tests, Exynos retained more of its peak performance, while averaging about 2°C warmer. Neither tested phone exceeded 50°C. | Short benchmark wins do not settle sustained performance; results are specific to the test and devices. |
| Battery tests | Exynos lasted about 17% longer in 4K playback and gaming-benchmark endurance, 14% longer in Zoom, and 36% longer in automated web browsing. Snapdragon lasted about 16% longer during 4K30 recording. | Battery results varied with the workload; neither chip wins every task. |
These are observations from particular test units and methods, not universal ownership guarantees. Android Authority’s Exynos vs. Snapdragon comparison and Tom’s Guide’s S24 benchmark report provide the cited results. Firmware, ambient temperature, battery condition, signal, display brightness, refresh rate and app choice can change outcomes.
What that means for gaming and battery life
The Xclipse 940 makes the Exynos S24 a capable compact flagship for gaming, but long sessions are constrained by the small phone’s thermal headroom. Snapdragon has the clearer edge in the cited conventional GPU tests; Exynos was competitive in the cited ray-tracing test and retained more performance in those stress runs. Game optimization and settings matter as much as headline scores.

- Galaxy S23 sports a 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X flat display with adaptive 48–120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and a peak brightness high enough for strong outdoor visibility — giving you vibrant, crisp visuals and smooth motion while staying compact.
The battery findings also complicate the claim that Snapdragon is automatically better in every way. In Android Authority’s comparison, Exynos did better in several browsing, video playback, call and gaming-endurance tests, while Snapdragon did better in 4K30 recording. These results should be treated as workload-specific, not a promise that every Exynos owner will get longer battery life. Network quality, 4G or 5G use, brightness, background syncing, temperature and firmware can all affect endurance.
Brazilian Galaxy S24 hardware and software
The base S24 pairs the Exynos chip with a 6.2-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and adaptive 1–120Hz refresh rate. Its typical battery capacity is 4,000mAh, with wired charging up to 25W. The rear cameras are a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, a 12MP ultrawide and a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom; the front camera is 12MP.
Samsung’s Brazilian launch material listed 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB storage for the S24. Availability can vary by channel and SKU. The S24+ is larger: it has a 6.7-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display at 1–120Hz, a 4,900mAh typical battery, up to 45W wired charging, and launch configurations with 12GB RAM and 256GB or 512GB storage. It shares the main camera arrangement described above.

- 6.8″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with a 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to ~2600 nits peak brightness — delivering a bright, sharp screen with smooth scrolling and great outdoor visibility.
The 25W and 45W maximum wired charging rates require compatible charging equipment; Samsung said the adapters are sold separately. Existing compatible USB Power Delivery equipment may be sufficient, so a new charger is not automatically necessary. Check the adapter and cable specifications if reaching the advertised maximum is important. For full regional details, consult Samsung’s Brazilian S24 specifications and the launch specifications for S24 and S24+.
Galaxy AI features in Samsung’s S24 launch material include Circle to Search, interpretation and translation tools, chat and note assistance, and AI-assisted photo editing. These features are not exclusive to Snapdragon models. Availability can depend on language, region, app, account, network and software version. Samsung announced seven generations of operating-system updates and seven years of security updates for the S24 line; see its global availability and support announcement. Do not assume every AI feature has identical terms indefinitely: the Brazilian product page described features as free through the end of 2025, and that historical wording does not establish current 2026 terms.
Brazil vs. other markets
The regional split is why imported S24 listings can be confusing. The cited comparison coverage identifies Snapdragon S24 and S24+ variants in the United States, Canada, China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, while Brazil’s S24 and S24+ use Exynos. That is not a safe rule for every market or every imported unit: Samsung’s model and processor allocations are regional, and exact model numbers should be checked.

The S24 Ultra is the important exception within Brazil’s S24 family: it uses Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy. A Brazilian buyer who wants Snapdragon in this generation can consider the Ultra, but that means buying a larger, more expensive phone with different camera and productivity features—not simply choosing a different chip in the same base S24.
How to check a Brazilian or imported S24 before buying
Do not rely only on a marketplace headline such as “S24 Snapdragon” or “global version.” Check the model number and the phone itself. The Brazilian base S24 appears in the SM-S921B family; Samsung’s retail listing gives an example SKU, SM-S921BZKJZTO.
- Check the exact model: on the device, open Settings → About phone and note the model name and model number. Compare the number with the seller’s invoice and listing. Samsung’s SM-S921B support page and Brazilian retail page are useful reference points.
- Verify the processor: if the listing’s chip claim matters, confirm it using a reputable device-information utility after receiving the phone. Model and region are better evidence than a generic product title.
- Confirm Brazilian network and approval details: check Anatel certification and the exact device’s LTE and 5G band support with your carrier. Ask specifically about VoLTE, eSIM and 5G service rather than assuming they work identically across regions.
- Get warranty and purchase terms in writing: confirm whether the seller provides a Brazilian invoice, who handles warranty repairs, whether the phone is factory unlocked, and what the return policy is. Imported devices can have different CSC/firmware behavior, Samsung Wallet/Pay availability, carrier features and service access.
- Compare total cost, not just the sticker: include shipping, taxes, possible customs charges and the cost of losing straightforward local warranty or returns. Check RAM and storage against the precise SKU.
An imported Snapdragon model can be a sensible choice for a buyer who prioritizes benchmark or conventional gaming performance, but only if network compatibility, software behavior, warranty and total landed price check out. The Snapdragon label alone does not make an import a better purchase.

Its value depends more on today’s price and condition than on its 2024 launch price. Samsung announced launch prices of R$5,999 for the 128GB S24 and R$6,499 for the 256GB model; the S24+ launched at R$6,999 for 256GB and R$7,999 for 512GB. These are historical January 2024 prices, not current recommendations.
A Brazilian price guide reported roughly R$2,500 as an attractive price for a new S24 in July 2026. That is a dated third-party market benchmark, not an official Samsung price or a guaranteed offer. Compare the exact storage, seller, warranty, condition and current price of newer Galaxy phones before deciding. A used or refurbished handset should not be judged against a new-device quote without accounting for battery health, condition and seller protections.
- Consider the Brazilian Exynos S24 if it is meaningfully discounted, you want a compact phone, local warranty matters, and everyday speed, display, cameras and long-term update policy matter more than top benchmark results.
- Consider a Snapdragon import if gaming or benchmark performance is a priority and verified compatibility, seller support and total cost make the import worthwhile.
- Consider the S24 Ultra if you want Snapdragon in the Brazilian S24 generation along with the Ultra’s larger screen, camera versatility and S Pen. It is not a like-for-like base S24 substitute.
- Pass on the S24 if its price is close to a newer model with a faster processor and comparable support, if the seller cannot identify the exact model, or if you expect extended flagship gaming without thermal limits.
Bottom line: the Brazilian Exynos S24 is not simply a failed Snapdragon substitute. It gives up some peak CPU and conventional GPU performance in cited tests, while showing competitive everyday capability and better endurance in several workloads in one controlled comparison. Buy it when the discount, local warranty and compact design outweigh the performance gap—not at a price that ignores newer alternatives.
