Bottom line: the advertised $17 saving cannot be independently verified from the available deal information because it does not identify a retailer, model number, former price, sale price, or expiry. As of the latest supplied price checks (August 16, 2026), Best Buy listings showed both the 2025 LED Roku 75R4C5 and the 2026 QLED Roku 75R5D5 at $499.99, but with different comparison-price claims. Check the exact model and checkout total before treating the headline as a real discount.
What the deal actually needs to prove
A genuine saving is simply:
Former or comparison price − current cash price = actual dollar saving.
The $17 figure might instead be a coupon amount, a membership-only reduction, a financing figure such as “$17 per month,” or a stale search-result headline. None of those should be presented as a $17 reduction in the television’s purchase price.

There are two different 75-inch Select Series TVs
“Roku 75-inch Select Series 4K” is not specific enough. Roku’s model information distinguishes the 2025 standard LED set, model 75R4C5, from the newer 2026 QLED set, model 75R5D5 (Roku model information).

Roku lists the 75R4C5 at a regular starting price of $699.99, while its finder has shown $499.99 in one snapshot and $529.99 in another. Best Buy has listed the 75R4C5 at $499.99 (2025 Best Buy listing). Best Buy has also listed the 75R5D5 at $499.99 with a displayed $699.99 comparison value (2026 QLED Best Buy listing). These are price signals, not proof that either listing is still available at checkout.

What you get for the money
- 4K resolution on a very large screen.
- Roku OS with broad app availability and straightforward navigation.
- HDR support, with HDR10+/HLG specifically documented for the 75R5D5.
- Dolby Audio and Bluetooth Headphone Mode.
- Three HDMI inputs, including HDMI eARC, plus USB and wired Ethernet.
- An enhanced Roku voice remote on the larger Select Series sizes; the exact remote bundle should still be confirmed on the retailer page.
- Television, table stands, screws, power cord, remote, batteries where specified, and quick-start documentation.
Smart features require internet access and Roku setup. Paid services such as Netflix, Disney+, and Prime Video remain separate subscriptions; Roku’s free channels do not make every streaming service free.
What “QLED” does—and does not—mean
The 75R5D5’s QLED layer can provide greater color volume than a conventional LED panel, making it the more attractive choice when it costs about the same as the 75R4C5. QLED does not automatically mean Mini-LED backlighting, local dimming, Dolby Vision, unusually high HDR brightness, or a 120-Hz panel. Both models use direct-lit backlights, and the supplied sources do not provide independent measurements of brightness, contrast, color accuracy, viewing angles, upscaling, or input lag.

Likewise, do not buy either set assuming 4K gaming at 120 Hz, variable refresh rate, or other advanced HDMI 2.1 features. Confirm native refresh rate, HDMI bandwidth, VRR, auto-low-latency mode, and console support on the live specification sheet.
Who should buy it?
It is a sensible fit for viewers who want a 75-inch picture at a relatively low price, already like Roku, mainly stream or watch live TV, need Bluetooth headphone listening, or are outfitting a family room or secondary space.

Choose the QLED 75R5D5 when its price is only marginally higher—or equal—to the 75R4C5. The color upgrade is more meaningful than paying extra for an unverified headline discount.

Look elsewhere if you prioritize premium HDR, deep blacks, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, high-refresh competitive gaming, very bright-room performance, or high-end built-in audio. Roku positions its Plus and Pro tiers above Select; those lines add features such as QLED, Mini-LED, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos (Roku’s comparison information).

Alternatives worth checking
Roku’s TV finder can surface same-size alternatives, including Pioneer and Hisense Roku TVs, alongside Select, Plus, and Pro models (Roku TV Finder). Pioneer or Hisense models may be cheaper in some snapshots; Plus and Pro models cost more but target buyers who want better picture and audio hardware. Compare the actual 75-inch model, warranty, seller, and delivered price rather than comparing series names alone.
Installation, delivery, and return checks
- Measure the furniture and stand area; a 75-inch set is about 74.5 inches diagonally and needs substantial depth and width.
- For wall mounting, verify the 400 × 300 mm VESA pattern and whether the retailer’s installation includes compatible hardware.
- Distinguish threshold delivery from room-of-choice delivery and paid installation.
- Check whether the seller is Roku or the retailer itself rather than a third-party marketplace seller.
- Read the retailer’s return window, damage procedure, restocking terms, and manufacturer warranty separately.
- Inspect the carton before signing when possible, photograph damage, test the panel promptly, and retain all packaging until the return period ends.
Five-minute buying checklist
- Find 75R4C5 or 75R5D5 on the product page—not merely “75-inch Select Series.”
- Calculate the discount from the listed comparison price and cash price.
- Confirm the final price for your ZIP code, including shipping, delivery, tax, installation, recycling, and protection plans.
- Verify condition (new, open-box, refurbished), seller, warranty, and return destination.
- Save a screenshot of the price and model, then keep the box until the television has been fully tested.
To verify a delivered Roku TV after purchase, check the model in Settings > System > About; Roku also identifies the model on the television and carton (support guidance).
The Bottom Line
At a verified $499.99, either 75-inch Select Series model can be a reasonable large-screen Roku value. The 2026 75R5D5 is the better pick when it costs about the same because it adds QLED color. But the specific “save $17” claim is unproven: confirm the model, retailer, cash price, comparison price, and total delivered cost before purchasing.
