Verdict: RingConn Gen 2 is a good smart ring for people who want sleep and health tracking without a required subscription. Its lightweight design, included charging case, broad overnight measurements and sleep-apnea-related monitoring make it especially appealing to sleep-focused buyers. The compromises are a less polished interpretation experience than Oura, battery life that may fall short of RingConn’s maximum claim, and limited appeal as a serious workout tracker. Its apnea feature is not a diagnosis or substitute for clinical care.
What RingConn Gen 2 does
RingConn Gen 2 is a screenless smart ring for passive health tracking. It does not provide a watch display, calls, notifications, payments or built-in GPS. Instead, it collects data during everyday wear and sleep, then presents measurements and trends in the RingConn app. The intended value is a low-maintenance view of sleep, recovery and general health—not a replacement for a smartwatch or medical device.
RingConn lists heart rate, heart-rate variability (HRV), blood oxygen (SpO2), skin temperature, respiratory rate, sleep, stress and activity tracking, as well as menstrual-cycle and women’s-health features. The app also provides sleep-apnea-related monitoring on Gen 2. Features and presentation can change with app and firmware updates, so check the current app listing and product page for the supported functions on your phone.
The official U.S. product page lists iOS 17.0 or later and Android 10.0 or later. It also specifies Bluetooth 5.0 and five to seven days of offline storage. See RingConn’s Gen 2 specifications for current compatibility and product details.

Price and subscription: the main value proposition
During the research pass, RingConn listed Gen 2 at $299 in the U.S. and marketed its tracking without a required subscription. Prices and promotions can change, so confirm the live checkout price for your region. That one-time hardware price is a meaningful contrast with Oura, whose U.S. membership is listed at $5.99 monthly or $69.99 annually after the included month for new members. Oura’s current terms are on its membership support page.
At Oura’s listed annual rate, membership alone adds about $69.99 after one year, $279.96 after four years and $349.95 after five years. This excludes the ring itself, tax, discounts and future price changes. RingConn’s subscription-free model can therefore be less expensive over time, but it does not guarantee zero future expense: damage, battery degradation, shipping, accessories or optional protection may add costs. RingConn Care+ has been listed as optional, with terms and pricing to verify at checkout.
Design, comfort and getting the size right
The Gen 2 uses a titanium-alloy body with a PVD coating and medical-grade epoxy resin. RingConn lists it at 6.8 mm wide, 2 mm thick and 2–3 g depending on size. It is light enough to be unobtrusive for many people, particularly overnight, but its width and the feel of a ring may not suit everyone. A ring can also get in the way when gripping weights, tools or other hard objects.
RingConn recommends the index finger for best performance and says the middle and ring fingers are also supported. Sensor contact matters: a ring that rotates freely or sits loosely may produce inconsistent readings. Do not assume your usual jewelry size will fit. If available for your location and sales channel, use RingConn’s sizing kit, wear the sample through the day and overnight, and check it when fingers are warm or swollen. Heat, exercise, salt and sleep can all change finger size.
The company warns that the finish can scratch against harder surfaces. The electronics may remain usable even as cosmetic wear becomes visible. Consider taking it off for abrasive manual work or activities where it could strike equipment, and check the current warranty terms before relying on coverage for cosmetic damage.
Battery life and charging case
RingConn claims up to 10–12 days of battery life per charge, depending on ring size and use, and about 90 minutes for a full charge. The included charging case is claimed to hold up to 150 days of additional battery capacity. Those are manufacturer maximums, not a promise that every wearer will see those results.

Independent results are less generous but still suggest a strong battery proposition: Wareable reported roughly eight days in a comparison, while Digital Trends said its test unit did not reach the advertised maximum. Those are individual tests, not a guaranteed result for every ring. Size, sensor activity, sleep-apnea monitoring, workouts, syncing, temperature, firmware and battery age can all affect endurance. See the Wareable comparison and Digital Trends review for their respective test context.

Even if your experience is closer to a week than 12 days, the ring should need charging less often than many competing smart rings. The case is useful for travel and makes charging less dependent on finding an outlet, but its 150-day figure is also a capacity claim, not a guarantee of a particular schedule. Keep the case charged and check the ring’s battery before a long night or trip.
Sleep tracking: lots of measurements, with interpretation to judge
Gen 2 surfaces sleep duration, stages, a sleep score and regularity, alongside overnight heart rate, HRV, oxygen, respiratory measures and related recovery indicators. Nap tracking and other app features may also be available depending on software. The useful question is not simply how many numbers the app records, but whether sleep onset and wake time look plausible, whether naps are recognized, and whether the morning summary helps you understand a pattern.
Sleep-stage labels from a consumer ring are estimates, not a clinical sleep study. Treat a single score or one unusual night cautiously; trends over several nights are usually more useful. If data is missing, first check battery, fit, app syncing and phone permissions. RingConn says the ring can store roughly five to seven days offline, so extended periods without syncing may also lead to gaps.
Independent coverage has praised the breadth of the data and sleep focus, while noting that battery performance and the interpretation experience are not perfect. For an example of independent assessment, see Digital Trends’ review. Do not treat anecdotes or a reviewer’s experience as a controlled accuracy test.

Sleep-apnea-related monitoring is the feature that most clearly distinguishes Gen 2 from the cheaper Gen 2 Air. RingConn presents measures including Apnea-Hypopnea Index (AHI), Oxygen Desaturation Index (ODI), SpO2 and other breathing-related sleep data. The intended value is to highlight potentially concerning overnight breathing patterns for follow-up—not to diagnose sleep apnea.

A ring cannot establish the type, cause or clinical severity of sleep apnea on its own, and a normal-looking result should not outweigh symptoms such as loud snoring, witnessed breathing pauses, morning headaches, excessive daytime sleepiness or hypertension. If a result is concerning, or symptoms suggest a problem, discuss it with a qualified clinician or sleep specialist. A clinician may recommend appropriate testing.
If you use CPAP, do not replace prescribed treatment or professional CPAP reports with the ring, and do not change settings based on consumer-ring readings. The feature may provide a reason to ask questions, but it is not a substitute for a sleep study, diagnosis or treatment plan.
Health signals, activity and workout limitations
The ring’s sensors collect signals such as optical pulse data, temperature and movement. The app then uses algorithms to estimate or summarize metrics such as sleep stages, stress, recovery, cycle predictions and recommendations. A sensor-derived reading and an app interpretation are not the same thing: the latter depends on algorithms and assumptions, and should not be mistaken for a clinical finding.

Overnight resting measurements are also a different use case from heart-rate tracking during fast or irregular exercise. If a health number matters clinically, use an appropriate validated device or seek professional advice rather than selecting whichever consumer tracker reports the preferred value.
For workouts, think of RingConn as a passive health companion, not a sports watch. It can track steps and general activity, and offers workout-related tracking, but it has no display or built-in GPS for route mapping and does not provide the live training experience of a dedicated watch. The evidence here does not support a blanket claim about workout accuracy across activities. Athletes who need detailed live metrics, routes or a mature training ecosystem should keep a Garmin, Apple Watch, Galaxy Watch or similar device in the mix.
Menstrual-cycle and women’s-health features may be useful for logging trends, but predictions are not contraception or medical advice. Check what the current app supports and how it presents those estimates before depending on them.

App, integrations and data handling
RingConn’s app gives access to a broad set of health measurements and trends. That breadth can be a strength for people who want raw information without a membership fee, but it can also mean more data than clear guidance. Compared with Oura’s more established interpretation and coaching experience, RingConn may feel less polished to buyers who want concise, confident takeaways rather than charts and metrics to interpret themselves.
Recommended Free Tools
RingConn’s product materials list Apple Health and Google Fit support. The exact data that can be shared, platform availability and controls can change, so check the app’s current integration settings. Offline storage of about five to seven days helps when the phone is unavailable, but sync permissions and a functioning Bluetooth connection still matter for keeping the app current.
Health data is sensitive. Before enabling integrations, review what is stored on the ring or phone, what is synchronized to an account or cloud service, which exports are enabled, and how to export or delete account data. Do not assume that basic tracking and any AI or personalized-insight features handle data identically; consult RingConn’s current privacy policy and app disclosures for the applicable terms.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Water resistance, durability and care
RingConn lists Gen 2 as IP68 and rated for water exposure up to 100 m / 328 ft, with an operating-temperature range of 0–40°C / 32–104°F. This is not the same as a guarantee against every combination of chlorine, saltwater, steam, pressure changes, chemicals or impact. Follow current care instructions, and remove and dry the ring and skin if moisture causes irritation. Water resistance does not prevent scratches to the finish.
Gen 2 vs. Gen 2 Air
The Gen 2 Air is the more relevant comparison for a price-conscious buyer who wants RingConn’s basic tracking without the flagship’s particular extras. At the U.S. prices listed during the research pass, it cost $199 versus $299 for Gen 2. The important omission is sleep-apnea monitoring; Air also uses titanium steel rather than Gen 2’s titanium alloy and comes with a charging dock rather than the high-capacity case.

RingConn Gen 2 vs. Oura Ring 4 and Samsung Galaxy Ring
| Choose | Why it may fit | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| RingConn Gen 2 | No required membership, long claimed battery life, charging case, iOS and Android support, and sleep-apnea-related monitoring | App interpretation may be less polished; battery may not reach the maximum claim; not a serious sports-watch replacement |
| Oura Ring 4 | Consider it if you value a mature app and coaching experience and are comfortable with membership fees | U.S. membership is listed at $5.99 monthly or $69.99 annually; its product page lists five to eight days of battery life |
| Samsung Galaxy Ring | Consider it if you are invested in Samsung Galaxy phones, Samsung Health and Galaxy Watch integration | Less suitable outside Samsung’s ecosystem; check Samsung’s live page for current compatibility and price |
Oura’s current product details are on its Ring 4 page; Samsung’s current U.S. product and compatibility information is on its Galaxy Ring buying page. Pricing and availability vary by market and promotion. None of these consumer rings should be treated as a clinical substitute.
Who should buy RingConn Gen 2?
- Buy it if sleep and recovery matter more than advanced sport tracking, you want to avoid a recurring membership, and you value a charging case and broad health metrics.
- Consider Gen 2 Air if saving the difference matters more than apnea-related monitoring, and the dock and material are acceptable.
- Consider Oura if app polish and coaching matter more to you than avoiding ongoing fees.
- Consider Galaxy Ring if you are a Samsung Galaxy user who prioritizes Samsung Health and device integration.
- Do not buy any smart ring as a diagnostic device or as a replacement for prescribed care, sleep testing, a sports watch’s GPS or detailed training functions.
Quick troubleshooting
If battery life seems unusually short
Fully charge both ring and case, update the app and ring firmware, and check fit and sensor contact. Reconnect or reboot the ring using the current app instructions, then track battery percentage over several days. Frequent syncing, workouts, optional monitoring, low temperatures and battery age can affect endurance. If the decline persists, contact RingConn support while you are still within the applicable return or warranty period.
If sleep data is missing or incomplete
Check whether the ring fit securely, the battery lasted through the night, and the app has Bluetooth and other required phone permissions. Sync the ring and confirm that it was not removed for part of the night. If you went more than the stated five-to-seven-day offline storage window without syncing, some data may not be available.
If an apnea-related result is concerning
Check fit and repeat measurements over multiple nights if appropriate, but do not diagnose yourself from the ring or wait for repeated readings if you have concerning symptoms. Discuss the result and symptoms with a clinician. Do not alter CPAP treatment without medical advice.
If it hurts or irritates your skin
Remove it and check for swelling, moisture, residue or a fit that has become too tight. Finger size changes during the day and with heat or exercise. Clean and dry the ring and skin according to the manufacturer’s instructions; if irritation persists, stop wearing it and seek appropriate medical advice.
