Reinke announced the general availability of ReinCloud 3 on March 25, 2025. It is a cloud and mobile platform for monitoring and managing irrigation equipment—not a new pivot. The software can work with compatible existing Reinke systems, while the separate RC3 hardware family is intended to connect equipment to the platform and enable newer capabilities. Whether an upgrade needs new hardware depends on the machine, control panel, telemetry and desired functions.
What ReinCloud 3 is
ReinCloud 3 is the third generation of Reinke Manufacturing’s cloud-based irrigation-management platform. Reinke says the original ReinCloud platform began in 2016. The system brings equipment status, field information and remote-management tools into web dashboards and mobile apps for growers and irrigation managers.
It is useful to distinguish four related terms:
- ReinCloud 3: The software and user experience for viewing data, managing equipment and issuing supported commands.
- RC3: Reinke’s remote-management hardware family, which connects irrigation equipment with ReinCloud telemetry.
- ReinCloud-ready equipment: Reinke equipment designed to work with the platform, subject to the specific configuration and controls required.
- Irrigation machines: The center pivots and lateral-move systems being monitored or controlled; ReinCloud 3 is not itself a machine.
Reinke’s March 2025 announcement describes the platform as supporting remote access, monitoring and control. The precise controls available depend on the installed equipment and hardware; a general platform feature should not be taken as confirmation that every command works on every installation.

Reinke’s launch announcement emphasized a redesigned interface, upgraded telemetry and tools for managing multiple systems. Its stated changes include:

Reinke’s current ReinCloud site also lists group views and commands, multiple commands, widgets, engagement-ring indicators and insights, wet-status views, reporting, a Notification Center, CropX integration, and standard and advanced permissions. These are current product-site descriptions; they should not all be assumed to have been available on launch day in March 2025.
ReinCloud 3 software versus RC3 hardware
ReinCloud 3 is the cloud platform; RC3 is hardware. The launch announcement says RC3 connects electric pivots to ReinCloud telemetry regardless of panel type. Reinke also describes the unit as smaller than earlier hardware, with a sealed, low-maintenance enclosure and a three-year warranty. These are manufacturer claims, and the fit for a particular machine should be confirmed with a dealer.
The distinction matters when budgeting or planning an upgrade. Some compatible existing installations may be able to use ReinCloud without replacing hardware; a new RC3 unit may be recommended or necessary for particular connectivity or control functions. The software, telemetry hardware, cellular service, installation and any recurring charges are separate questions to resolve in the quote.

The RC3 lineup has expanded since the ReinCloud 3 launch. In an announcement dated April 8, 2026, Reinke added RC3 EOS, RC3 WELL and RC3 DUAL to RC3 ULTIMATE. Reinke says the products address different irrigation and water-management configurations and integrate with ReinCloud telemetry. See the RC3 family announcement for the later product context; it does not mean every RC3 model suits every installation.
Compatibility and whether existing equipment needs an upgrade
Reinke’s current ReinCloud page says every Reinke irrigation system has built-in ReinCloud compatibility, and the ReinCloud FAQ says backward compatibility means new hardware is not necessarily required. That is not a guarantee that every older system can provide every ReinCloud 3 function with its existing panel or telemetry device. Reinke’s broad compatibility claim concerns its equipment; do not infer support for non-Reinke machines without confirmation.
Ask a Reinke dealer to check the actual equipment list and desired functions before committing. Useful details include:

- Machine manufacturer, model and age, and whether it is electric or hydraulic.
- Control-panel type and the telemetry device already installed.
- Whether the field has usable cellular or other internet coverage.
- Which commands are supported on that exact configuration, including sectors, end guns, pumps and auxiliary controls.
- Whether the desired sensors, flow or pressure monitoring, and third-party data integrations are supported.
- Whether RC3 is needed, and which RC3 model is appropriate if it is.
- What existing accounts, users, permissions, machine groups, alert settings and historical records carry over during migration.
- Who performs setup and installation, and what support is available during irrigation season.
The official FAQ supports backward compatibility but does not fully detail migration for every account or older telemetry device. Ask whether migration is dealer-led, whether records and settings are retained, and what happens if users have problems with the new interface; do not assume that a simple return to the old version is available.

ReinCloud materials describe a view that can combine irrigation-system status and location with weather, soil and sensor information, yield data, chemigation and fertigation layers, seeding maps, reports, notifications and alerts. Reinke’s current site also lists CropX integration. The integration is a connection to an agronomic-data partner, not proof that ReinCloud alone supplies every soil-moisture measurement or recommendation.
Those views depend on the information feeding them. Soil, weather, yield and crop layers may require sensors, third-party integrations, properly configured farm data, or particular account access. A missing, stale, poorly calibrated or misplaced sensor can make a dashboard incomplete or misleading. Ask which data sources are included in the proposed configuration and which require separate equipment, services or subscriptions.

Remote-management controls also vary by installation. Reinke’s older remote-management description lists examples such as starting and stopping equipment, changing direction, adjusting speed and managing pump settings, but it discusses an earlier RC10/ReinCloud setup. Treat those as examples of Reinke remote-management capabilities, not a promise that every ReinCloud 3 installation supports each one.

Reinke describes access through smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktop computers, using web dashboards and mobile applications. Its launch announcement says the mobile app is available through Apple’s App Store and Google Play. The Apple App Store listing identifies a ReinCloud 3 app from Reinke Manufacturing. An app-store download marked free does not establish that hardware, telemetry, cellular connectivity, software service or dealer support is free.
Reinke’s public product and launch pages do not display a standard price or plan table; they direct prospective customers toward a local dealer. Request an itemized, comparable quote covering hardware, installation, software or telemetry charges, cellular service, sensors and integrations, setup, training, annual support, replacement costs, and any charges for extra machines, farms, users or advanced features. Actual availability and terms can vary by region.

Operational checks before relying on remote control
A connected platform depends on communications among field equipment, the network and cloud service. Reinke describes connectivity as a product objective, not an unconditional guarantee that a command will always reach a machine. Before adopting remote commands for critical irrigation work, establish how the system behaves offline and how staff should respond.
- Ask whether the local panel continues normal operation if telemetry or internet service drops.
- Find out whether commands issued during an outage are discarded, queued or reported as failed.
- Confirm how users are notified when a machine or telemetry device goes offline.
- Identify local overrides and the person responsible for verifying equipment status after a command.
- Set permissions deliberately and follow safe procedures for pumps, pressure, flow and auxiliary equipment.
Remote access can reduce trips to a field, but it does not replace local operating procedures or verification that a machine is behaving as expected.
How ReinCloud compares with Valley and Lindsay
ReinCloud 3 is most naturally evaluated alongside connected irrigation platforms from Valley and Lindsay. Product descriptions do not establish which platform is best for a particular farm: equipment compatibility, dealer support, data inputs, control requirements and installed cost determine the practical fit.

See Valley’s official product site and Field Commander page, and Lindsay’s FieldNET page and product literature for their own feature descriptions. Their reviewed pages, like Reinke’s, do not provide a standard public price; request dealer quotes based on the same machine list and requirements.
What the launch claims do—and do not—establish
Reinke presents ReinCloud 3 as a way to support more precise water management and operational decisions. The available official product descriptions do not provide independent, controlled field results establishing a particular amount of water saved, labor reduced or yield gained because of ReinCloud 3. Treat savings and yield improvements as potential outcomes to assess against your own operation, not guaranteed results.
