The Redmi Turbo 3 is a China-market performance phone announced on April 10, 2024. It pairs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 with a 120Hz 1.5K OLED display, 5,000mAh battery and 90W wired charging. The closely related international model is the POCO F6, but the two are not interchangeable in software, network support or warranty. In 2026, the Turbo 3 makes sense mainly for China buyers or importers who find a substantial price advantage and can verify the ROM, bands and seller support.
What is the Redmi Turbo 3?
The Redmi Turbo 3 is the first phone in Redmi’s separate Turbo performance line, launched in mainland China. It followed the Redmi Note 12 Turbo’s performance-focused positioning and sits below Redmi’s flagship-tier K series. Its priorities are processing power, fast memory and storage, a high-refresh display and quick charging—not flagship camera versatility.
The POCO F6 is its closest official international counterpart. Both use the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and share much of their headline hardware, but regional software, configurations, accessories, network support and warranty arrangements can differ. Launch date, configurations and original prices
Redmi announced the Turbo 3 in China on April 10, 2024. Its original launch prices were:

These are April 2024 launch prices, not current 2026 street prices. Current pricing was not established in the cited material, so compare live local offers rather than using the launch figure to judge today’s value. ITHome’s launch report lists the configurations and prices.

Performance and gaming
The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is a powerful upper-midrange platform. Its Cortex-X4 prime core gives it a newer CPU generation, but the 8s chip is not the full Snapdragon 8 Gen 3: its GPU configuration and overall platform capabilities differ. LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 storage also help with app loading and multitasking, while the 120Hz screen makes supported games and scrolling feel fluid.
Benchmark figures are snapshots, not promises of sustained performance. Xiaomi’s POCO F6 product page reports an AnTuTu result of 1,530,662 from its internal lab and warns that results vary with conditions. A Redmi launch report cited approximately 1,754,299 on AnTuTu V10. Different test versions, firmware, temperature and performance modes make those scores unsuitable as a direct guarantee of everyday speed. POCO F6 product information; Redmi-related benchmark report.
For gaming, the chip is capable of demanding titles and high-refresh play, but long sessions depend on game optimization, ambient temperature and thermal control as well as peak chip speed. The POCO F6 advertises LiquidCool 4.0/IceLoop cooling with a 4,800mm² circulating pump and eight temperature sensors; those POCO-specific marketing details should not be assumed to describe every internal component of the Redmi Turbo 3. Short benchmark bursts can also differ from performance after a phone heats up.
Display, build and durability
The 6.67-inch 2712 × 1220 OLED panel combines 1.5K resolution with a 120Hz maximum refresh rate, a useful pairing for crisp text and smooth supported content. Xiaomi’s POCO F6 materials list HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, Gorilla Glass Victus and hardware-level low-blue-light features for that counterpart. High-frequency PWM dimming at low brightness is also listed for the POCO F6; display behavior and specifications should be checked against the exact model and region.

The phone’s IP64 rating indicates dust protection and resistance to splashes under controlled conditions; it does not mean waterproof or safe to submerge. Cameras: capable main sensor, limited versatility
The 50MP stabilized main camera is the stronger part of the system on paper. Sensor naming differs by market coverage: China-focused reporting identifies Sony LYT-600, while Xiaomi’s POCO F6 specification page names Sony IMX882. Do not assume those labels prove every regional unit has an identical sensor or image pipeline.

The 8MP ultrawide is a more modest secondary camera, and there is no dedicated telephoto lens. That limits long-range framing and the flexibility available on camera-first phones. The POCO F6 page lists 4K video recording up to 60fps for its model; check the exact Redmi Turbo 3 camera app and regional documentation rather than assuming all video modes match. Processing also varies with firmware and camera-app versions, especially between China and global software.

The 5,000mAh typical battery and 90W wired charging remain convenient headline features. Xiaomi says the POCO F6 can charge from 2% to 100% in about 35 minutes under specified lab conditions: boost charging enabled, display off, supplied charger connected and room temperature around 25°C. Redmi launch coverage also reported roughly 12 minutes to 50% and 35 minutes to full. These are controlled-condition claims; temperature, charger and cable authenticity, battery level, firmware and phone use during charging affect actual time. The POCO F6 includes a 90W charger in some regional packages, but box contents vary by market. No wireless charging is identified in the cited specification materials. By 2026, a 5,000mAh cell may also be less distinctive than the larger batteries found in some newer phones, so battery capacity and endurance should be part of any current-price comparison.

The official POCO F6 product page and specification page document the global counterpart. Xiaomi’s U.S. site has no corresponding Redmi Turbo 3 listing in the available product information; do not treat the China phone as officially launched in the United States. Xiaomi U.S.
China-ROM and import risks
An imported China-market Redmi Turbo 3 is not equivalent to buying an officially sold global POCO F6. China-region software may include local services and apps, and Google services or notifications may need configuration or behave differently from a global build. Compatibility with banking apps, DRM, Android Auto, wearables, location-dependent services, VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling can depend on ROM, certification, carrier and country.

Unlocking the bootloader or installing a seller-modified global ROM can affect OTA updates, certification, security, camera behavior, NFC or streaming quality. Hardware similarity does not establish official cross-flashing support between the Redmi Turbo 3 and POCO F6. Warranty and returns may also be limited to the original sales region; import taxes, shipping and charger compatibility can erase some of the apparent price advantage.
Questions to ask the seller before buying
- Is this explicitly the China model, or an officially global model? What is its exact model number?
- Which ROM and HyperOS region are installed, and is the bootloader locked?
- Will official OTA updates work, and does Google Play Protect certification pass?
- Which LTE and 5G bands does this exact model support? Are VoLTE, Wi-Fi calling, NFC, eSIM and Android Auto supported by the buyer’s carrier and country?
- Is the charger included, genuine and suitable for the buyer’s electrical system?
- Where is the warranty valid, who handles returns, and who pays return shipping?
Network compatibility: check the exact model
The global POCO F6 specification page lists broad LTE and Sub-6 5G support, including LTE bands 4 and 66 and 5G bands n2, n5, n66, n77 and n78. Xiaomi notes that 5G availability depends on region and local operator. Those POCO F6 listings do not prove identical band support or carrier certification for a Chinese Redmi Turbo 3. POCO F6 network specifications.
For a U.S. import, check the Turbo 3’s exact model number against the carrier’s current band and device-compatibility requirements. Frequency overlap alone does not guarantee VoLTE, carrier certification or all service features on AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon. Do not rely on a seller’s general claim that it “works everywhere.”
Should you buy a Redmi Turbo 3 in 2026?
It may suit you if…
- You are buying in China or the import price is substantially lower than a comparable officially supported phone.
- You prioritize gaming, demanding apps, fast storage and charging over camera versatility.
- You can verify the model, ROM, network compatibility, seller reputation and return terms before paying.
Prefer the POCO F6 or another official regional model if…
- The POCO F6 is officially sold where you live and the price gap is small.
- You value regional software, clearer network documentation, local warranty and easier after-sales service.
- You need predictable carrier features or do not want to troubleshoot an imported China ROM.
Skip it if…
- You need U.S. warranty coverage or guaranteed support for specific carrier features.
- You want a telephoto camera, higher water protection such as IP67/IP68, or a camera-first phone.
- The seller cannot identify the exact model or software, or the discount is too small to offset import and support risks.
Before choosing any 2026 phone, compare current prices alongside battery capacity, software-support commitments, IP rating, camera hardware, sustained gaming performance, warranty and local 5G support. Newer Redmi Turbo or POCO models may improve some of these areas, but a worthwhile comparison requires current model and price information rather than assumptions based on launch-era specifications.
